3DS Ambassador - NES games are available for download... now!

Just Power off your 3DS for about 10 minutes or less, and when your battery is at least blue (you can know if you unplug the charger cable), you can keep plug the charger and you are able to download them. The thing is just to prevent that when you download something, didn't power off itself and corrupt data.
Pretty sure he knows what it's there for.
The complaint is that it doesn't just work with the charger plugged, regardless of battery level.

It's not up for me either (UK)

NoE is some hours away of fucking up big time regarding the ambassador program.

the original link to the identifier tool has been removed and it was never in service.

Just 6 freaking hours and we have Septemeber the 1st. here.

There SHOULD be games to download everywhere in this continent and AU and South africa.

Not looking well at all.

Oh shit, son. I was fully expecting it to be like the e-Shop update fiasco where we kept waiting and waiting for it to go up and it didn't appear until the last minute. This time it's a day ahead of when we were expecting it. I've downloaded all of them except Wrecking Crew, Ice Climbers and Balloon Fight. I never got into 'em back when I had the NES, but having SMB, Metroid, Mario Golf, two Zeldas and Yoshi? That's money!

Thanks Nintendo! :)

Works when you have at least blue bar (blue light at the bottom right part of 3DS). Only when you are charging with red light, you will have that problem.

They forgot to tell the UK they weren't part of the deal... instead we get a free wallpaper on the Nintendo club.

Amazing, a chance to download old NES games. Nintendo is really turning over a new leaf. This is worth the extra $80. For crying out loud, I'd have paid one HUNDRED and 80 dollars for the chance to play Ice Climber.

Thank you, Nintendo!

Everyone needs to post their homescreens. I need some ideas on how to set mine up with all these icons now.

I just basically threw all of my NES icons in together.

Sensing your sarcasm, I believe this thread has indeed demonstrated that at least one person here is unfamiliar with the titles and this affords them the opportunity to try, play, and possibly enjoy "new" titles. I am going to assume that not everyone started playing games when I did in the late 70's/early 80's

These are different than the 100s of roms that have been on the internet for years-- the kilobytes are organic.

Ice Climber's decent, but $180? Why do you love Ice Climber so much?

A .nes file isn't much fun when all you can do is copy, paste or delete it. Oh yeah, you can also cut it. Good point.

I know. I've been stoked since the announcement as well!

Said it in the other thread, but this is some pretty backwards logic. You payed $250 for your 3ds. Period.

Also, Open Golf is great!

Are these only going to be up for a limited time? Because I honestly have no idea when the next time I'll have access to a good wi-fi connection will be.

Another has seen the light.

Open Golf is a great game, even for those who don't like sports games.

Plus, it has lots of Mario characters in it. If that don't get you interested, nothing will.

They'll stay in your download list permanently.

The games will be available for download just 24 hours.

I really don't know, but I guess you can download them anytime you want, just like everything in the My Downloads list.

Sweet. Have probably only played a couple of these games, if that. Will be perfect around exam time where I don't have enough time to play a 'modern' game, but enough time to play these in bursts. Zelda, here I come :D

Yeah, it's not bad at all. I really started to like it after the part of my brain that was detecting that repetitive music broke.

I just lost a match play to Luigi. I was only 1 point away; heartbreaking.

And it's not like they've released these games as free bonus unlockables multiple times in a billion other games. This is fucking Balloon Fight, man.

Nintendo just cares about us a little bit more than other companies.

I think Nuclear Muffin is using a US 3DS though...the why can't he get anything? As I said in the other threead I thought it was cloud based (the eShop service) and maybe it hasn't fully propogated or something.

It gets a little time to get used to it because the bar moves to fast. But it has a surprising amount of options and ball moves pretty realistic. Putting is impossible though, because judging the distance and the slopes is harrrrd. Will probably get it used to it later though.

A very good precursor to Mario Golf, it's a shame it doesn't have the RPG elements from the GBC one.

Is it like Mario Gold Advanced for the GBA? I loved that, and the tennis one - camelot rpg's <3

They keep giving us stuff! I'm outraged!

I haven't played that one, but it is a LOT like Golf for the original Game Boy. In fact, it kinda feels like a sequel to it.

Barely :(

I did played Mario 2 and 3 though... (I mean of the NES games, after that I think I played all of them)
You sound like you had a pretty deprived childhood.

what is wrong with my 3DS wireless??? The internet comes and goes as it pleases.

I tested the connection a couple of times, and it kept saying "connection successful" and then it goes down to zero bars.

Is my 3ds messed up??

Wow download was so fast. Never played any Nes games before so this is going to be interesting.
:mind blown:

I guess kids will get a kick out of this even if I'm a jaded old gamer.

I don't disagree with you. When Nintendo stepped down from Mount Sinai and saw us crawling around in the dirt with our graven idols it bent down and bestowed upon us a gift. "Take Yoshi's Egg," Nintendo said, "Take Yoshi's Egg and be enlightened." And we did, and we were. But Nintendo's brow furrowed and its face fell into a concerned expression "I warn you, friends-- do not dally. This deal expires within 24 hours."

Ok, this is getting weird. The connection is fine when I am at the Home screen, but when I try to enter the eshop, the connection magically fails.

Did you delete the settings and retry it? It used to do it for my DSlite for some reason in the beginning but didn't after I reentered everything.

The servers are probably saturated... I mean, several sites like Joystiq, Kotaku, IGN, Destructoid, etc... already reported this, so a lot of people are downloading the games.

Took awhile to download due to needing to go back to that page over and over, but I finally grabbed all the games. Only had one failure to connect error (just quit the eshop and came back in).

What does the Ambassador certificate do? Should I keep it or can I trash it?
