3DS Ambassador - NES games are available for download... now!

It's the type of game you probably wouldn't shell out the money for, but now that it's there it's great.

And by 10 games you mean the GBA games? Those are gonna be up before the end of the year, so no clue regarding when, or what the other 5 games are gonna be.
 
I vaguely remember Wrecking Crew from back in the day. That's one that doesn't come up often when talking about old NES games.

I wish they would have included Punch-Out!! and Pro Wrestling.

I'm really hoping for Zelda LttP to be included in the GBA games.

Punch-out will most likely end up being a 3D classic.

Some people never liked it,especially because of the outside parts but I thought it was awesome back then...
 
I will be downloading these promptly. looking forward to playing zelda II and seeing what it's about. never played that one.
 
Holy! I'm bad at Zelda I.

Played for about 30 min on my lunch and died like 10 times. I know I have to find a guy at a grave, but couldn't find him.

I then wandered into an area that looked like a little forest. Went in the entrance and apparently I'm in the first dungeon, Level 1.

edit: IMO, Nintendo should really make a Gameboy VC app, a NES VC app, etc. So there aren't a thousand icons on your screen. Click on the NES app and it lists all your VC games. Everything is cluttered now and it will be crazy when we get 10 more GBA games.
 
Oh cool, it saves your progress when you leave the game. What's it called, freeze state or something? Whatever, that's great news to me

Nah, updates always occur on the Thursday of each week, so I'll expect them tomorrow.

I don't want to spoil anything but here is a small non-spoilerish tip:

Regarding the guy in the graveyard, do something else for now.
 
Does anyone know what happens when you hold L+R at the same time during a NES game, as in what does the NES controller sub-menu do?

Pressing any button other than the Home button seems to not work.

Pressing Y while L+R are being held toggles between controller 1 and 2.

The NES app should also require you to blow into the 3DS mic before a NES game will start.
 
Here's a tip for Zelda, kill a few enemies, then buy the candle first. Then, use the candle to find bushes that can be burned. Some of them will net you more rupees (cause it's a secret to everybody)! It looks like there are a lot of bushes to test, but remember it can only be ones you can get to. Try looking for secret bombable sites on the overworld map, too. They'll only be on the bottom edge of rocky areas.

Oh, and anytime an old man offers you the choice of a heart container or a red potion, take the heart container! (obviously)

Dang, at least now I'm not going to worry about constantly looking at the shop to see if it updated.
 
Not happy with the lack of emulation options on this rushed NES emulator for 3DS.

As you know, when you press Select + Start when launching a GB or GBC Virtual Console game, you can get a 1:1 resolution, with a GB/GBC console border.

With this ones, you just get the AWFUL FILTER version of the games.

let me show you an example, this is SMB on my 3DS

Hopefully they'll fix that when the updated versions are available. It's been bothering me too.
 
Downloaded and ready to go. Having some of these in portable form is pure awesome.

I really hope the Ambassador program isn't a one off and Nintendo keeps sending stuff out throughout the life of the system. Nothin hefty, just like hats and shit. I don't care.
