Movies

1: Sabotage - 2/5 - Pretty good film, but man you can see Arnold's age through the whole film. I enjoyed it for what it was though.
2: The Remaining - 1/5 - Not off to a good start on new movies it seems. This one is about The Rapture happening during a wedding. I like parts and ideas of it, but overall it was very bland and fell flat.
3: Tracers (2015) - 2/5 - An alright movie, nothing to complain about and nothing too positive. Watched it because it has Marie Avgeropoulos in it from The 100. Unfortunatly it also has Taylor Lautner.
4: The Hateful Eight - 4/5 - The first real good movie I've seen in 2015 so far. I thought the first half was better than the 2nd, but overall a really good movie.
5: Time Lapse (2014) - 3/5 - Pretty good time travel thriller. Had a decent twist to it and I really love Danielle Panabaker anyways!
6: The Wolverine - 3/5 - I'm usually on top of my comic book movies, but for some reason I just got around to seeing this. I really enjoyed it, I loved how the story wasn't some end of the world saving, much more personal.
7: The Martian - 5/5 - Fantastic movie, I've wanted to see it for quite awhile, but never got around to it in theaters. I don't see how this was labeled a Comedy by The Golden Globes, I mean it had humor, but seriously? Either way one of the best movies I've seen in quite awhile.
8: I Am Number Four - 3/5 - I actually really enjoyed this, had some typical YA bad acting, but I like the concept. I'll have to give the books a shot after the VA series.

Books
1: Vampire Academy - 3/5 - So I'm into supernatural style stories and a friend talked me into giving this series a go. It is a Young Adult book, but I actually really enjoyed it and the ideas Richelle Mead has set up, I'm curious where this goes as it seems more like a normal Vampire World compared to that Twilight crap. I've got the rest of the books downloaded on my Kindle and I'm going to give them all a read. I guess there is a 2nd series after called Bloodlines, so I may have my first 12 books setup already lol.
2: Frostbite: Vampire Academy #2 - 3/5 - A step up from book 1 in my opinion for sure, they've fleshed out the universe a lot more in this one and I like where they are going. It still has some of those normal tropes of a Young Adult book series, but it's well written and I'm starting to get pretty invested in some of the character.
3: Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy #3) - 3/5 - I'm really getting hooked on this universe. The things that happened in this book to Rose and some other characters are really going to change the series going forward I can feel it. Next book should be pretty interesting, heard from my friend it's the best one also.

Bring on year 2!
Dandy Crocodile - 2/50 books | 13/50 movies

Books:
• Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - 4/5
• Workin' It!: RuPaul's Guide to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Style by RuPaul Charles - 2/5

Movies:

I'm in. I actually tried to do it past year, yet I stopped at 25 books and 30 movies, partially due to a depression episode.

The best thing about this challenge is not only experiencing new books and movies, but seeing other peoples posts and watching/reading what others share. 2 years ago when I took part I discovered so much I enjoyed.

In 2016 I'm going to be in a very weird place personally but it's also a place where I think I can finally complete this challenge. I'm gonna do it this year. Movies are never a problem for me. It's always finding the time and solitude to read that I need.

Count me in again! Going for the 50 movies for sure this year but I'm going to stick to a 10000 page goal for books. My average book size was 305 pages last year while hitting 10000 pages. I counted a few short novels, which is against the rules, but didn't split up any books above 500 pages. This year I'll stick to the rules.

Really want to get into some sci-fi books again.

Check out my list from last year, I went nuts on the space operas and military sci-fi books. After I finished The Expanse series I'm going to switch gears into something else this year.

Signal and the Noise is an awesome book Sadsic! I've got Predictably Irrational in the queue.

Gonna try to actually do this this year... I just really began reading books as an adult again, but I doubt I will actually read 50 books in one year. Here's to trying though!

I am going to add TV seasons to the counter, as well as Albums or EPs I personally create over the course of 2016:

Sadsic - 1/50 Books | 0/50 Movies | 0/6 TV Seasons | 1/4 Albums/EPs Created

Books

Currently reading: The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail - But Some Don't by Nate Silver

Finished:

Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right by Jane Mayer - ★★★★★

A deeply engaging book about the eclipse of the Koch Network over the RNC, and what happened in modern history to lead up to this moment.

Movies

Currently watching:

TV Seasons

Currently watching:

Albums/EPs Created

Currently creating: "?"

Finished:

Blue Light Special/Blue Light Deluxe mini-album for Eyesix Records

Shalashaska - 1/50 books | 2/50 movies

4 Star Scale - ★★★★

Books

1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens - ★ - Basically it read like a screenplay turned into a book, it added very little to the story from the movie. While I didn't expect a ton of extra details, it was easily the weakest of all the Star Wars movie novelizations.

Movies/TV
1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens - ★★★★ - A great return to the feel of Star Wars.
2. Making a Murderer - ★★★★ - Completely engaging and depressing.
3. Friends: Season 4 - ★★
4. Friends: Season 5 - ★★

I'll be crossing the 50 movies mark within 3 months into the year. Books I need to pick up with... I haven't read recreationally since over 4-5 years now..

Anyways:

Params7 - 0/50 Books | 0/50 Movies

Most likely will be going into new years tomorrow watching Kingdom Of Heaven Director's Cut with my brother.

In again!

donny2112 - 50/50 books | 90/50 movies

Books
1. Hunger Games: Mockingjay (390 pages) (2010) - ★★★★★ (Jan. 6, 2016)
I think between this and the movie, the explosions in front of the presidential palace that kill Prim are clearly orchestrated by Coin. She doesn't do the overt Animal Farm movie twist of declaring elections on-hold indefinitely in the book, but it's clear that Coin sent Prim to the front line to be killed in such a manner. Also, the burn damage is something else.
Again, the book makes some things clearer than were left in the movie. Not near as much as the Harry Potter books explained over the movies, but enough to answer some non-100% clear questions from Mockingjay, Part 2. The leader of district 8 makes much less of a presence in the book (same end, though), and Effie has a dramatically reduced role from in the movie. She barely says a word in the book and seems shellshocked into silence in her own right. Like how District 12 came back in the end of the book over the movie, though. Still like Katniss's end in both. (^_^)
2. Die Trying (Jack Reacher, Book 2) (422 pages) (1998) - ★★★★☆ (Jan. 11, 2016)
Another solid story with the larger than life hero Jack Reacher.
Another 1-off fling where she stays with someone more stable after he saves the day for her.
This one with mid-90s militia as the backdrop. Love the technical descriptions of snipering in this one. Don't know if Lee Child knows this stuff from experience (unlikely since he's from the U.K.) or just research, but if it's research, that's some research!
3. Bloodsick: An Old World Tale (157 pages) (2014) - ★★★★☆ (Jan. 12, 2016)
This takes place in same world as the previously covered Scarlett Bernard series. It's designed to be a standalone, but it provides great backstory to Will's becoming the alpha werewolf in LA from that series. Also explains where the doctor comes from at the beginning of the third Scarlett Bernard book. It has a major addition at the end that I don't think has been mentioned in the Scarlett Bernard books, so it'll be really interesting if that comes up again in a later book (it pretty much has to, though). Definitely worth reading if you've read the Scarlett Bernard books. (^_^)
4. This'll be the catch-all for books less than 100 pages.
The Manticore Ascension (Arena Mode short story) (74 pages) (2014) - ★★★☆☆ (Jan. 15, 2016)
Favored character from Arena Mode Book 1 that
died
ends up in
an alternate dimension where the really scary superman from Russia
won the first Arena games instead of how the first book went. It's all real over-the-top in how "bad" it is, but I'm just super happy that
she kills the scary superman (who is not nice at all) just like she did in the real story line
. That makes me like the book, even if it is a one-off with a character that I'd have liked to see return. Good read and a good continuation for her, at least!
Sell-By Date: An Old World Short Story (A Scarlett Bernard Novel) (23 pages) (2014) - ★★★☆☆ (Jan. 15, 2016)
As short Scarlett Bernard story focusing on the back story of Molly, Scarlett's roommate vampire landlord. It's a fanciful story with a lot of insight into Molly, but I think it doesn't quite fit in with how Molly was portrayed in the rest of the series (this short story came after the series). You could argue that Molly was just hiding her true feelings/thoughts/motivations the whole time, but that's too much for a vampire who's constantly being turned into a human around Scarlett. Oh, well. Still nice to imagine! :lol
Seven Brief Lessons on Physics (87 pages) (2014) - ★★★☆☆ (Jun. 22, 2016)
This book states it is for the non-technical, and I'd have to agree with that. He had an interesting way of describing the founding of Special Relativity, moved on to Quantum Mechanics and started murkying the water with philosophy, and then went downhill from there. It's basically a philosophical book about our place in the Universe, makes some basic logic errors ("because we haven't found <this thing> it doesn't exist" as if we were the pinnacle of human discovery), fundamentally misunderstands Hawking radiation (calls it "space heat"), and ends with a world-ending diatribe because of humanity's lack of care for the world. Agree with that or not, it's not a science book. Thing is philosophy, mostly, for people who aren't already aware of much of this stuff. Did enjoy the 20th history bits with Einstein, though!
Not a Drill (A Jack Reacher Short Story) (45 pages) (2014) - ★★★☆☆ (July 8, 2016)
Interesting back story to this. Typical methodology of Jack Reacher. Decent story.
High Heat (A Jack Reacher Short Story) (74 pages) (2013) - ★★☆☆☆ (July 14, 2016)
Too much coincidinky happenings surroung little 16 year old Jack Reacher's foray into NYC in July 1977. Also way too advanced thinking for a 16 year old, even one named Jack Reacher. Was he supposed to have very little growth left in his reasoning over the next 20 years? Bleh.
5. Tripwire (Jack Reacher, Book 3) (561 pages) (1999) - ★★★★☆ (Jan. 23, 2016)
Finally, a girl he saves that
doesn't just become another one-ordeal stand and that he stays with
. Too bad about
General Garber dying
, but I guess Lee Child decided keeping him around wasn't necessary. Having started Book 4 and it continue on from the end of Book 3, interesting to see how
Reacher transitions back to being a drifter after having a steady girlfriend and now a house/car as an excuse to settle down a bit
. Also, good twist at the end, and it
once again affirms Reacher's "gut" instincts".
(^_^)
6. Running Blind (Jack Reacher, Book 4) (516 pages) (2000) - ★★☆☆☆ (Jan. 27, 2016)
I was not a fan of this one. Now, it still included the normal "fun" Jack Reacher moments, and it was good to see a continuing sidestory from the previous book for once. However, the story ending was ridiculously contrived, a cardinal sin in my opinion. There were too many successful, but in the wrong way, blind alleys. Too many allusions that fit too well to paths the author didn't want to take.
A very convenient/inconvenient death at the end.
Oh, and major, major, major, major abuses of power by the FBI. I know from last year's Grisham book that police (and by extension, the FBI) do not need to tell the truth legally outside of a courtroom. However, intentionally setting up a completely innocent person to cover for their crimes, being willing (not just threatening) to arrange the killing of loved ones to secure "help" (no one's going to get good "help" that way), and a complete subversion of the very law they're sworn to uphold is disgusting and a revulsion to me.
All to secure budget considerations from Congress by showing how great their program is doing.
It makes me a little heistant to continue with the series, but based on the movie, which is based on a later book, I figure it doesn't continue down this dreary and gruesome path. Still, not a fan of this one. Mainly the ending and the actions of the FBI, which were some large and important parts of the book. The rest was normal Jack Reacher goodness, though.
And "Yay!" for Jodie making partner! Weird reason for Jack and Jodie to separate again, though, and Jack's love for Jodie sure doesn't seem to be keeping his pants on, which is disappointing.
7. Echo Burning (Jack Reacher, Book 5) (412 pages) (2001) - ★★★★☆ (Jan. 31, 2016)
Man, this book started off badly! Lies everywhere, and I hate lies. Thought this would be another disappointing Jack Reacher novel after the last one, but they pulled it out! Turns out
the first person wasn't lying as much as they thought she was (still annoying and I still didn't trust her, but at least what Jack Reacher bought into wasn't a lie again), the smooth talking DA who wanted Reacher to lie was, in fact, lying (never trust a DA who tells you to lie off the record; they're setting you up to lose all credibility), and the seeminly unconnected Killing Team ended up getting just desserts served by Mr. Reacher.
A fair bit of contrivance, but it wasn't enough to ruin it, especially after having looked so bad in the middle. Ended on a good, classic, hero-takes-all Reacher run, which is what I'm looking for.
Also great that Reacher kept his pants on, since he's still thinking back to Jodie from the last two books. Although that was helped by his interest in this novel being a lesbian. Helped keep his pants on for him! :lol
8. Without Fail (Jack Reacher, Book 6) (549 pages) (2002) - ★★★★☆ (Feb. 5, 2016)
Avenging a loved one is good motivation for Jack Reacher.
Good, solid Jack Reacher novel. No stupid manipulation by authorities. Just honest requests that lead to his own personal reason for continuing on a task. Also got some good insight into security procedures, thinking, etc. Always like those parts of these novels. Main motivation for the antagonists was a little weak, but it didn't kill the story or anything. Good Jack Reacher novel!
9. Assault or Attrition (Arena Mode, Book 2) (365 pages) (2014) - ★★★☆☆ (Feb. 8, 2016)
I'm still interested in seeing this saga concluded, but, again, contrivances and me don't get along.
I very much like that the ending keeps being good, but the process to get there is full of so many issues. Why couldn't Cameron Frost afford a CDU to protect his Fortress 23 from superhumans, even if he did want it to be Arena Mode 2? He could've just disabled it during the games. Why didn't Cameron Frost build an offensive capability into his Fortress 23 that was to be the new capital of his country to shoot down missiles, since that was the one thing his Fortress 23 couldn't survive? Why did they leave Valeriya alive? 2nd highest IQ in the world with a death wish for Mox and a talent for convincing people to follow her and do her will? Yeah, too dangerous to live there, for sure.
Strangely, this is written like it's from a boy author's perspective instead of a female writer, but maybe that's on purpose considering the target audience. Strange stuff.
10. Persuader (Jack Reacher, Book 7) (466 pages) (2003) - ★★★★★ (Feb. 19, 2016)
Reacher's going to finish a job he though was done 10 years ago to make up for what happened to someone under his care, but he's going to risk everything to avoid hurting innocents in the process. Not that everyone here is a complete innocent, but he's more careful about it than I thought was necessary. Great book, though.
11. The Enemy (Jack Reacher, Book 8) (464 pages) (2004) - ★★★★★ (Feb. 24, 2016)
Flashback to Reacher in 1990 while still in the Army to show some development of how he became who he was. Liked it a lot! A little too over-the-top in how far the military may go (
Almost seemed like a mafia setup of putting people down like dogs casually
) but a really good book. Also really great to meet his mom and see Joe again!
12. One Shot (Jack Reacher, Book 9) (466 pages) (2005) - ★★★★★ (Feb. 28, 2016)
The movie book. Gotta say the book stayed a lot truer to Jack Reacher than the movie, but I liked the movie's squeaky clean Jack Reacher a little better. The book's one is probably more realistic, though.
13. The Hard Way (Jack Reacher, Book 10) (371 pages) (2006) - ★★★★☆ (Mar. 1, 2016)
Great rescue story even though Reacher has to get in tight with some
pretty bad but happily ended
dudes. More telegraphed twists but still fun to see it all play out!
14. Bad Luck and Trouble (Jack Reacher, Book 11) (377 pages) (2007) - ★★★★★ (Mar. 5, 2016)
This really deserves six stars for all the awesome people in this book. Reacher gets his old super-team from the Army investigative unit
mostly
back together and kicks all kinds of butt! Super story, fun (if telegraphed) twists, and
another satisfying
Reacher kind of ending. d(^_^)
15. Nothing to Lose (Jack Reacher, Book 12) (531 pages) (2008) - ★★★☆☆ (Mar. 13, 2016)
I really hate the invasion of anti-war/government sentiment that permeated so many forms of media in Bush's second term. I'm not FOR war, but Reacher is a lifelong military guy. Yes, he's been out 7 years, but he's not going to suddenly be A-Okay with
deserters making their way to Canada to get out of going to Iraq
. As a soldier, you go where you're sent. If you didn't want the job, you shouldn't have signed up or take the time in Levenworth as punishment for your poor choice. Running away was never a good idea. And the concept of a
Revelation-focused nut town making a dirty bomb from old miliary equipment to blow up their own country in an attempt to bring the Rapture
is pretty stupid, in its own right. These books have had some pretty stupid storylines, though, so that could've been okay. Reacher turning into a supporter of
deserters
is way too much, though. Like I said, I hate the anti-war/government sentiment that permeated so many forms of media in Bush's second term. It messed up some otherwise good potential media forms in that timeframe.
16. Star Wars: Aftermath (Journey to The Force Awakens) (364 pages) (2015) - ★★★☆☆ (Apr. 2, 2016)
Not sure what to think about this. Only seems to marginally have anything to do with TFA (
mention of Jakku and something that might have been the beginning of the First Order
), and the story itself seems kind of unimportant other than expressing the desire of the New Republic to avoid repeating actions of the Empire. Liked the new characters added but not sure I want to invest in a new Star Wars book storyline when 1) Star Wars book storylines were so unceremoniously discarded with TFA making another one kind of potentially worthless and 2) I have plenty of other storylines that I do care about waiting to be read. Maybe the others will do more to lead up to the movie, so we'll see. Looking forward to the new canon in LEGO The Force Awakens, though!
17. Star Wars: Dark Disciple (400 pages, audiobook) (2015) - ★★★★☆ (Apr. 11, 2016)
This is a novelization of an unproduced story arc from the cancelled Clone Wars TV show focusing on Asajj Ventress and Voss (two characters introduced in the TV show, one Sith/former Sith and one Jedi). Asajj is such a great character.
Wish it had ended differently for her and Voss, since now they essentially have zero chance of coming back in another series due to Asajj's fate in the book and Voss remaining a Jedi and thus dying after Ep. III.
She's introduced in the series as a apprentice to Dooku as a Sith, but she's eventually thrown out and becomes a former Sith who still leans to the Dark Side. This book really handles her character well
up until she becomes the girl trope of following after a bad boyfriend because she's convinced he still loves her and it'll all work out, but she's redeemed later
. Finding out more about the Nightsisters was fun, too. Hint if you're not familiar with the TV series: There's more to the Force users than just Jedi/Sith. Not a huge fan of the ending, but glad they were able to make some bold choices with it. Don't listen to many audiobooks, but this one was done real well with John Williams movie music throughout. Good stuff!
18. Gone Tomorrow (Jack Reacher, Book 13) (431 pages) (2009) - ★★★★☆ (May 4, 2016)
Great story of an insignificant encounter leading to a crazy result. Typical Jack Reacher stuff.
19. Final Empire (Arena Mode, Book 3) (376 pages) (2015) - ★★★☆☆ (May 10, 2016)
Contrived mess. Glad the author has found an audience for this, but I don't like such things usually. Glad to finish the story, though.
20. Star Trek TNG: Cold Equations, Book 1: Persistence of Memory (385 pages) (2012) - ★★★★★ (May 22, 2016)
Wonderful story of the love of a father for his sons. Great, great stuff. Oh, and
Borg even though the Borg have been removed from the Universe
.
[*]Star Trek TNG: Cold Equations, Book 2: Silent Weapons (337 pages) (2012) - ★★★★☆ (May 30, 2016)
Know this one thing is coming up in the Star Trek books and thought this was going to be it. Talk about dodging a bullet and having to catch your breath!
[*]61 hours (Jack Reacher, Book 14) (495 pages) (2009) - ★★★★☆ (June 13, 2016)
What a great storytelling sendup to have the whole thing be a countdown. Bit of a crazy result but good book!
[*]Worth Dying For (Jack Reacher, Book 15) (515 pages) (2010) - ★★★★★ (June 27, 2016)
Reacher comes in and puts down some town bullies that have been running it for decades and are really, really bad. Liked figuring out the secret a little before the official reveal, which is always fun. Mice being led by the pied piper. :lol
[*]The Affair (Jack Reacher, Book 16) (406 pages) (2011) - ★★★★★ (July 3, 2016)
Ah, the origin story for why he left the Army. Not 100% sure it fits in with all the other hints he's given, but he's also kind of squirrelly with his answers to begin with. Good stuff, though!
[*]A Wanted Man (Jack Reacher, Book 17) (406 pages) (2012) - ★★★★☆ (July 7, 2016)
I just kept reading, and this one went pretty fast. Another FBI-related story with more than a bit of coincidinky stuff that works out too well. Still good stuff, though.
[*]Never Go Back (Jack Reacher, Book 18) (404 pages) (2013) - ★★★★☆ (July 13, 2016)
Pumped about the movie coming out this Fall based on the book. Some really great Reacher storytelling, and the addition of Major Susan Turner to the work was really additive to the worth.
[*]Star Trek TNG: Cold Equations, Book 3: The Body Electric (334 pages) (2013) - ★★☆☆☆ (July 15, 2016)
A galaxy ending threat introduced early in the book and
cleared up with a bit of reasoning in ~30 seconds at the very end of the book. Only took the death of someone loved by Data and ending of story arcs started books ago to put everything back to proper Star Trek order
. Can't writers make long-term changes anymore? What's the deal? The original ST timeline is gone. Do something meaningful with it instead of trying to put everything back as you found it!
[*]Ready Player One (334 pages) (2013) - ★★☆☆☆ (July 15, 2016)
Love the VR world that is made in this, but the requirement of a focus on 80s nostalgia as a backbone to the book makes the mid-21st century setting tooclose. Decent book, though.
[*]Study Guide for 1Z0-060: Upgrade to Oracle 12c (262 pages) (2014) - ★★★☆☆ (July 31, 2016)
Good overview of 12c new features. Will see if it helps on the test.
[*]Star Trek: New Frontier, Books 1-4 (Audiobook) (694 pages, 4.5 hours) (1998) - ★★★☆☆ (August 8, 2016)
Had read the physical books a few times, last > 10 years ago, but the audiobook was a unique experience enough, that I want to count it anew. Love the introduction of all the primary participants in the new series and their own backstories. Peter David does a great job of setting up this new universe that I love.
[*]Area 51, Book 1 (202 pages) (1997) - ★★★☆☆ (August 18, 2016)
Aliens. Some interesting use of real-world situations to get there, and not a bad book on aliens. Contrived, of course but still entertaining.
[*]Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Audiobook) (784 pages, 21.5 hours) (2015) - ★★★★★ (August 25, 2016)
Again, had read the physical book before, but the audiobook is its whole own experience! Love the way the characters are portrayed, and it really seems to have played out in my mind better hearing it versus reading last year!
[*]Lost Dog (A Gideon and Sirius Novel) (311 pages) (2016) - ★★★★★ (August 30, 2016)
Touching, trying novel about animal loyalty, sacrifice, love, and the vagaries of the mind set through the work of Detective Gideon and his K-9 partner Sirius in LA. Some contrived workings, but not enough to overshadow the themes in the book.
[*]Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Audiobook) (752 pages, 21 hours) (2015) - ★★★★★ (September 22, 2016)
Really getting into the audiobooks. Listening to them a little backwards, but it's really bringing out the foreshadowing this way. Still love the reading, and don't recall the portrayal of Moody to be so ambiguous in the book. Love it!
[*]Boundary Line (304 pages) (2015) - ★★★★☆ (October 17, 2016)
Amazing how quickly a book can be consumed when you switch to one you want to read. Continuation of Dead Spots/Boundary Series world with the second book in the Boundary series. Loving the female protagonist stuff. Looking forward to seeing the ending in the third book. Hope there are more in the series!
[*]Boundary Born (290 pages) (2016) - ★★★★★ (October 30, 2016)
Great leaping off point for a non-Colorado based story line in the next set. Author is going to get back to Scarlett Bernard first, though, so looking forward to that, too!
[*]Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Audiobook) (896 pages, 27 hours) (2015) - ★★★★★ (November 2, 2016)
The emotional aspects are a lot more pronounced to me with the audio versions over the books. Love being able to listen to this as I'm driving!
[*]Area 51, Book 2 (268 pages) (1998) - ★★★☆☆ (November 3, 2016)
Good that they didn't try to shoehorn all the changes from Book 1 into a hidden plot beneath regular soceity. On the other hand, it means the author can do whatever he wants with this world. Fun story, so far.
[*]Aftermath: Life Debt (448 pages) (2016) - ★★★☆☆ (November 5, 2016)
Star Wars post-episode VI continuing on to explain VII. Finally got to mentions of Jakku and fun explanations of stuff.
Han and Chewie freed the Wookie home planet
. Looking forward to seeing how it wraps up when the final book is released next year!
[*]Bunnicula (128 pages) (1979) - ★★★☆☆ (November 6, 2016)
Don't recall if I ever finished this in Elementary school, but read it to kids this time over several nights. It worked great, and they really loved it. Clever, cute, safe, cuddly. Great book for kids. (^_^)
[*]The Invisible Man (149 pages) (1897) - ★★★☆☆ (November 12, 2016)

[*]Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Audiobook) (652 pages, 19 hours) (2015) - ★★★★★ (November 22, 2016)
[*]Star Trek: The Fall: Dust and Revelation (382 pages) (2013) - ★★★★☆ (November 28, 2016)
[*]Star Trek: The Fall: The Crimson Shadow (331 pages) (2013) - ★★★★☆ (December 6, 2016)
[*]Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone (Audiobook) (309 pages, 9 hours) (2015) - ★★★★☆ (December 6, 2016)
[*]Howliday Inn (195 pages) (1982) - ★★★☆☆ (December 9, 2016)

This time last year I rekindled my reading bug and while I didn't read anything close to 50, I think I'm up for the challenge this year, especially since getting my Kindle and starting to utilize a couple different local libraries which also have Overdrive support.
