VIDEO OF ARMED ROBBERY OF 7-ELEVEN, OCTOBER 12, 2011, 19235 WATKINS MILL ROAD
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division -- Robbery Section are investigating two armed robberies that have occurred at 7-Eleven stores in Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.
On October 12, at approximately 11:43 p.m., a suspect entered the 7-Eleven located at 19235 Watkins Mill Road in Montgomery Village, displayed a sawed off shotgun, and demanded money from the cashier. The
suspect removed a white plastic shopping bag from his pocket in which he demanded the money be placed. The suspect then exited the store and was last seen running across the parking lot towards Watkins Mill Road.
The suspect in this robbery is described as a black male, 25 -- 30 years old, 6'0" -- 6'2", weighing approximately 160-180 pounds. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored, quarter-length pea coat and blue jeans. He also wore a black scarf or cloth over his face, black sunglasses, and black gloves.
On October 27, at approximately 1:41 a.m., a suspect entered the 7-Eleven located at 9051 Snouffer School Road in Gaithersburg, displayed a sawed off shotgun, and demanded money from the cashier. In a manner similar to the October 12 robbery, the suspect removed a white plastic shopping bag from his pocket in which he demanded the money be placed. The suspect then exited the store and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Prior to the Snouffer School Road robbery, a citizen exiting the 7-Eleven observed two subjects outside the store wearing black masks. The suspect who entered the store in this robbery is described as a light- complected male, 5'8", wearing a black jacket and a mask. The second suspect, who remained outside, is described only as dressed in all black with a black covering over his face and wearing dark sunglasses.
Based on the citizen's report of two suspects, detectives currently believe that while only one suspect enters the store during the robbery, the two above described suspects are working together using the same
weapon to commit these robberies.
