A couple of weeks back my girlfriend and I were talking about different sorts of puzzle games. She said that her ex-boyfriend had a game for the Playstation 1 a long time ago in which "a little man runs around and blows up blocks." but she couldn't remember the name of the game. I very vaguely recalled the earlier PS1 games, and mentioned that it could be Intelligent Qube, but I wasn't sure because I had never played it. She looked it up on IGN and confirmed that was the game she was thinking of, and that she was dying to play it again.
So I went on a search for the game, and I quickly realized that this game has now become a "collector's item." It took me a while, but I finally got a hold of the game through a Hollywood Video that just happened to have an old ass copy in the used games bin. I picked it up for 2.99 (which is quite a steal since used copies go for 50+ bucks on eBay).
My girlfriend fired it up, and after fumbling around for half an hour (I was starting to think she never actually played the game) remembered how it worked. I watched her play for a couple of hours and started to pick up on strategies that could be used in the game. I didn't even touch the controller for a couple of hours, but when I finally tried it myself I found that the game can be quite addicting. On my second go through, I would up with a 256 IQ (which I think is pretty good), and got up to level 7.
The only downside is that I became much better than my girlfriend at the game (ironically, by watching her play it so much), so now she isn't as excited about it. She always loves to have a video game that she's better than me at, and now that list has dwindled down to Tetris and Dr. Mario and Sudoku puzzles.
Did they ever come out with any sort of followup for this game? A PS2 version or something like that?
