A Firefox speed increase tip that actually works!

Thought this might interest some FF users. I did this and I immediately noticed substantial page load increases. Quite impressive, at least to me, because no other speed increase tips have seemed to work.

1. about:config
2. Right click > New Integer
3. Paste "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" without quotes
4. Integer value set to 0
5. Restart Firefox

Is this the same tweak that increases speed, but also increases strain on servers?

Judging from the name, I'd say no. Before, Firefox would wait amount X before displaying/rendering the page, now it starts immediately. It's probably there for modem users/users with slow connections.
