Animal control was called by our neighbors but they were working on a call of the same type already. Animal control will not answer the phone since I got home, as they are closed according to the recording. Not sure when they were called but I've been home an hour. Not sure if there's anything I can do to help this goose.

Anyone know anything about what to do for a possibly, really cold and or injured goose, laying in the street and what if anything I could to do to help? Google didn't help me find any answers. Doesn't seem like a 911 issue, but it sucks to just watch. Why not ask here? I got nothing.

The goose tries to walk and then fails, it makes weird motions with its neck as if in extreme pain. I can do pics, but they will be pretty sad.

Can you man up and end it's suffering already?

I couldn't but given its state maybe is the best option

Well, that is sad. Poor guy.

I guess you could pretend the goose is Hitler. That might make things easier.

From the wildlife hotline:
Place the goose into a protective container (preferably a pet carrier if you have one on hand). Line it with an old dry towel free of any loose strings that might be ingested or cause tangles. Make a small water source available–nothing that can spill and make a big mess. You want your temporary guest to be warm and cozy, but not hot–remember an adult goose’s feathers are excellent insulators. Geese should be kept warm and draft free. Avoid using newspapers for bedding; they can remove the oil from a goose’s feathers. You can use hay or pine shavings, but avoid cedar shavings as they can irritate their skin.Try not to disturb the goose. Let it rest quietly in a safe and closed off room until you can arrange for it to be delivered to a rehabber.

Might I see a picture of the goose?

I'd say leave it alone. You don't have the means to help it and it might think you're a threat. Every goose I meet is an asshole to me for some reason. Try Google though they might have good tips.

Please don't just leave it there.

Try your best to assist it any way you can even if it means just preventing it from dying alone on the street in the cold.

Grab a blanket or a towel and loosely toss it over the goose. Making a large but firm cage with your arms, scoop up the goose and put it in a box. Bring it into the warmth and provide water. Phone a vet and animal control. Read the net. Based on what you learn decide whether to administer palliative care or euthanasia.

Minimise its suffering right now though.

Place it in a large container if you can. Not sure about bringing it inside though, the last thing you want is waking up to a dead goose...

Pictures? Maybe someone will be able to tell what kind of injury it has from it's position or gesture.

Had to put a bird that flew into my shed last summer out of its misery. (Broke it's neck and was gonna die anyways.) Used my pellet rifle and put one through the dome, insta-death.

If it's making a lot of noise and you have coyotes in your area it will probably be gone by the morning.

Flying elbow off of a car roof should be what you're looking for in this situation

If there's a nearby animal rescue place you can get it to quickly i'd attempt that. otherwise put the thing out of its misery

Oh jesus christ I've got enough to be worried about in my life without geese dying all around me desperate for my aid.

This is a worry for me as I live in an area with thousands of geese on my doorstep leaving their shit everywhere.

Finishing it off may be easier said than done. I saw someone drill a goose right in the back of the head with a Frisbee golf drive and it wasn't even fazed.
We're talking hard, sharp, heavy disc that the guy throws >400 feet, not lobbing something that you'd use to play fetch with your dog.
