Just figured I'd pop my head in and say that it is NOT Umineko. Sorry, Umineko fans! Take another look at the clue -- once you get it, you'll know.

Since there's a few people mentioning Half Minute Hero 2, XSEED mentioned on their twitter a few posts down that it was one of their worst selling titles ever (Yuusha 30, right?).

@XSEEDGames Hi, are there plans to localize Yūsha 30 Second to english?

@alishuja Thanks. :) I worked on it and I was really proud of the reception, but it's one of our worst selling ever, so not much we can do

Dreams crushed.

Your dreams? What about my dreams! Half Minute Hero released the same time as Adventures to Go. Half Minute Hero was by far the more popular of the two bite sized PSP RPGs and if Half Minute Hero did poorly...

I'll never get my Adventures to Go 2 now will I :(

You think dreams are crushed now, I just realized you can find "online" as part of the anagram. :(

I hope that would be online as just having it as an option (like most games now), and not built around it like DQ X.

Speaking of, whatever happened to that whole thing about Half Minute Hero 2 showing up on Uk sites like Amazon?

We were all speculating that Rising Star or Namco Bandai would be localizing it.

Probably nothing I care about, but meh.

I believe both actually denied being involved, lol.

But do we know for sure it’s part of the title?
No, of course not. Usually it's been Siliconera doing anagrams, and it's generally for the localized title (which makes it harder). But with XSEED, we can't be sure it's an anagram, can't be sure it's for the title if it is, and can't be sure "online" is part of it even then.

Just thought I'd try to keep expectations down... (btw, they hinted a bit that it might be a horror title, which interests me even less)

They've confirmed multiple times they intend to bring the trilogy. I seriously doubt they would quietly go back on that after the release of FC since they are going to have a ton of people bugging them about it constantly.

The only thing that was ever in question was the platforms it would release on because it can't be put on PSN. PSP retail alone in Summer 2012 or later will be suicide so they are going to have to supplement it with something else, XSEED is showing a lot of interest in the original PC versions and possibly a Vita port if Falcom is willing to do it.

Edit: And considering Jess runs the twitter, I can totally see it being related to granola.

I believe FF Type-0 is going to be two UMDs and S-E has claimed to have found a way to get it on PSN, unless I dreamed it up.

This is why we can't have nice things. I guess I have to import the next game, doesn't it?

*adds Retro Game Challenge 2 and Yuusha 30 Second to growing "games to import" list*

Siliconera mentioned 'a bit of news' that was to be coming soon regarding Senran Kagura a while back. Not sure how A RAVELING NOON SOUL ties into that, if at all, but may be a possibility.

No dream. Type-0 will be available on PSN same day as retail, so multi-UMD solutions exist.

That doesn't really mean much for SC though, it's entirely possible (and likely) that it's an issue on Falcom's part. SC was developed before Sony started putting PSP games on PSN, so it was never developed with that in mind. The problem is most likely the many disc-swap points that would need to be modified (since the game world is split between the UMDs, so you switch back and forth regularly). I actually brought this up on XSEED's forums previously.

Type-0 only has one swap mid-game as far as I know, so Square was probably able to work around the disc swap during development.

I think they already posted that it didn't have to do with localization, and iirc, they've already posted the news. Not sure though.

Since the anagram is probably for the localized title, you can try looking at likely titles and guess at what they might be localized as. I tried "Love Gun soon" for GalGun, but still leaves me with "a ralin". "An Love Railgun soon" doesn't seem likely. ;)

Echoed. Falcom's best work on the PSP so far, if you like old-school Falcom. The original FM synth music kicks all kinds of ass.

I hope it's not Senran Kagura. Not because I'm against its localization, but because there are games like Grand Knights History that I'd much rather see come over first.

Mine too and HMH2 looks like it destroys the first game.

Well, there's still that sliver of hope on those European listings that popped up last month and if nothing ever comes from that.. I think Half-Minute Hero Super Mega Neo Climax 2 might be something we'll see eventually.

Then a Vita port wouldn't make much sense as it would take the same amount of work as trying to find a work around for the dual UMD issue (as the disc split isn't simple). PC is probably a very viable option; if it happens I just hope people who bought the first game on PSP get some kind of voucher or coupon to get the PC version of FC for free or for a negligible cost.

HMH didn't do well either? That and RGC are by far my favorite games this could have pretended to be. I guess I'd enjoy another Trails in the Sky, but meh. If I can't have RGC and HMH sequels, I don't want anything.

I'm so sad. ;_;

From what I understand, the PSP basically emulates the UMD drive, the game probably can't even tell if it's running off a UMD or not, there shouldn't be anything for the developer to do. Supporting multiple UMD games should just be a matter of adding a menu to the Home screen and bumping a file offset in the fake UMD drive. Not a lot of effort, but would require changes to firmware that's not worth it for one old game that's only going to sell a few copies on PSN. Type-0 makes it worth the effort, and SC should benefit too (especially if it gets localized).

Vita is just something that's been mentioned as a "possible option," I honestly don't see it happening.

I think a very limited PSP release + digital PC release on Steam and some other services is going to be their solution in the end.

I'm curious if Type-0 even has a disc swap cue on the PSN version, or if they submitted it separately so it's like one big UMD. I guess we'll know for sure how that was worked out once people have played through it.

Anyway, this is getting off topic, it's preeeetty safe to say this isn't going to be Trails related. I'd really love it to be a different Falcom game though, but I don't see any way to get Zwei or Brandish out of it.

Not even going to imagine this ever happening, but HEY TOM, Steam + Falcom + Xseed = do it. :)

They could even release some mega bundle containing everything. I would die. Literally. My heart wouldnt be able to take it.

Its a great idea. I wonder why it hasnt been done.
