Going by the low production on this announcement video it was probably put together to try divert attention away from all the hatred towards their NFT announcement.

I was actually hoping they would do a remake instead of them destroying the IP with their open world mechanics so I couldn't be happier to hear this news.

Not great, not terrible. Blacklist wasn't amazing but wasn't bad either so if they improve upon that, next SC could be nice. On the other hand if they make it even worse than Blacklist - no thanks.

Most important thing they are lacking is a good writer.

Maybe if they avoid adding bloat, this will turn out good. But if that happens we will get a open world copy and paste bloated Splinter Cell game a couple of years later.

Fans have been banging on Ubisoft doors clamoring for a new entry in the Splinter Cell series for at least 5 years now and they are only just barely trying to get talent together to make that happen. It will probably be another 2-3 years before we hear anything more substantial about the game. What the hell have they been doing?

My perfect scenario would be the inclusion of the excellent spies vs. mercs multiplayer from Pandora Tomorrow and later games. Criminally underrated game mode that has never seen anything similar.

Not sure that mode would have the appeal it did back in the day though.

Remake of an ancient stealth games that's been lapped by competitors and we've already played it.

I am definitely up for this. Modern graphics and gameplay with some new missions would be great. I would be so down if they remake all of them up to Double Agent.

A remake with well done HDR seems like a no brainer. Fame was fantastic on Xbox

they should do a double or triple pack though.

I am surprised by the annoucement of a non-open world linear Splinter Cell. But I'll wait with the celebrations, given today's market stuff like Sam becoming a woman or a trans character is entirely possible. ;)

Did a little research, I thought that Wildlands (similar to Division in graphics terms) used Snowdrop but no, used Anvil. I dunno what this means to the game, I only hope that Ubisoft can deliver the best possible experience.

A remake is the safest bet for the fans, anything new would be abysmal based on Ubi's latest track record.

I personally could care less for Splinter Cell IP but I am glad that this is happening for the fans and the industry as a whole. 100% worthy of a Remake, I remember how this was the tech beast/monster for the original Xbox.

Hope it turns out well and it's a good remake to play.

I think a remake is something safer than to bring it to open world, multiplayer or to put microtransactions, season passes, NFTs and/or microtransations on it. Plus being a shorter and smaller game than what AAA games are today, in terms of budget it's also a safer bet for them.

Let's hope that instead of being barely a remaster like the Prince of Persia one, this one gets fully remade both in gameplay and art. Being something 'smaller' and always set in small rooms is a great opportunity to push the visuals into something super crazy specially considering what can be done today with modern lighting.

There hasn't been a single bad Splinter Cell game yet.

Blacklist was awesome too. Shame we never got more of that.


Wasn't this more or less the game that put Ubi on the map? They better not fuck this up. It's definitely a good-will project.

This is their Dead Space Remake.
