Actual Gameplay Footage of NBA 2k14

That does not look like what was shown in the earlier trailers...that's why hate trailers made from replays or "in-game" assets. Same with GT, Forza etc...they show pristine replays and when you play the actual game its a big downgrade.

Everybody who played the actual game (Including the person who actually did the video) says its just like the trailer just zoomed out.

I mean, it looks like NBA 2K style basketball with better graphics. What else were people expecting? It doesn't help that it's being played by people who appear to be playing it like a PS2-era Live title.

It looks absolutely fantastic to me. Makes me sad that I won't be getting a next gen console anytime soon and the PC version is balls.

I wish 2K would do a football (soccer) game :(

EDIT: does anyone know if this version features Michael Jordan?

I thought it looked great despite the video quality. It's basically a crappy video of off screen footage.
Also the camera can be changed.
Looks nothing like current gen.

Looks good to me except for Doris Burke (is that her name), not reinventing the wheel but the models still look notably better

that shit looks awesome. don't know who the fuck is going to play in that camera view tho haha. kinda want to see some GP footage of the broadcast camera view. interviews are awesome, yeah the interviewer lady looks kinda shitty but I'm not gonna trip about it lol. so fucking hyped. get here friday

It's funny seeing so many people confused as hell about the camera angle. You can definitely tell this game is bringing in lots of attention from people who've never played or seen a modern basketball video game.

Pretty sure this will be the most returned launch game

Why would anybody use broadcast? It's harder to attack the lane with accuracy and select the appropriate hand.

I know a few who play broadcast mostly because thats live's default camera and they grew up with that. But from a gameplay perspective, 2k cam gets it done for me. Easier to pull off a lot of the moves, and you just see the spacing on the court better. This is really beneficial when you run plays, much easier to see what is going on and react when someone makes adjustments.

2K should've done more to improve their graphics engine. Barley looks next-gen.

I remember noticing huge graphical upgrade when I got the first NBA 2K game for the 360. Can't say the same here.

That's funny because that was a cross gen title. It was the exact game as the previous generation with some sweat effects and cloth physics. 2K14 has been built from the ground up as a new game. It was a different team working on it.

Barely looks better than current gen

Its like yall havent played current gen or something

Hate that camera angle.

Lastly, these guys are absolutely terrible with 2K. please stop.
Bulls fan here....cringed to see Noah attempting a fade away jumper while the player yells "c'mon"

No....put the controller down.

Yup.

I knew this would happen. People still don't understand that all the detail from the trailers is there, just that you can't see it all the time from playable camera angles. You'll still see the closeups in replays which are plentiful throughout each game.

Also, 2K view sucks. I have no idea why kiosks are set to it. Broadcast view is much, much better and more realistic to what you see on TV in real life.

Cheap implementation. All suits have the same pose like all players have the same pose. Kids won't notice this.

Considering its a scene that probably happens one time for 15 seconds for each game you play, it's not that big of a deal of how they are posing.

I looked and didn't see it posted, so apologies if it was already posted.

PS4 gameplay footage from "broadcast" camera:

Knicks at Nets:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awd9eKwB5kMe

I wish 2K releases direct footage from the game soon because this camera footage isn't doing anything to get me excited about the game.

And something about the footplanting looks off. It almost feels like the players are sliding but they aren't...

Looks pretty good overall, aside from that Doris Burke halftime interview, notably her terrible character model, her animation and that mic. There are many current-gen games that look better than that interview. I wonder if that part was outsourced or just hurriedly tacked on without spending time to pretty and polish it up.

Looks really great, especially the lighting around the arena.

Manual help defense doesn't exist on Broadcast. You're better served on 2K.

And this camera seems more like Drive or something. Way too low. But obviously, its there to show off graphics. No thanks, really.

Holiday patch should be interesting. For both Gens.

I'm torn on this. I really like the look of Broadcast view, but from a tactical / gameplay perspective, 2K view just feels so much better. The lanes are so much more visible, and post play and any close-to-the-basket play is much more easy to execute. Broadcast is slightly easier for perimeter shooting though.

I'm with ya, man. The game is a HUGE step up and that's saying something considering that 2K has been one of the best games year in and year out for the last 4 years.

Animations look smooth as hell. So many new ones. Visual fidelity is great. Basketball fans are going to love this game.

I think maybe we are seeing people who don't know shit about sports games that got hyped by trailers and now are realizing that yes, it's a sports game. It still looks and plays like a sports games. It didn't magically turn into some other genre.

Just a heads-up. Ronnie2K and Chris Manning are live-streaming direct-feed, 5-on-5 broadcast view 2K14 gameplay for the first time on next gen tomorrow.

Opening Scene of MyCAREER

EDIT: Bad News: There's still only one voice for created players.

You guys wondering about more voices in MyPLAYER... Do you know how many lines are in 40 hours of gameplay in 1st season alone? #NBA2K14

White guys will still sound comically black

They should do ultra slow motion replays ingame like the omg trailer. Maybe not every replay, but once a quarter or so.

i know what you mean, seems like there are frames missing in the animations or something. and collision boxes for the players are a little bloated.

You remember wrong. It took 2k a year or two to make the animations for the farther away gameplay modes to look way better. Same thing is happening in this generation which I have already anticipated. It's not exactly clear how they will be able to achieve that so it'll take some time for them to figure it out. They will figure it out though.

This thread is just nitpicking with no empathy whatsoever of what's actually needed. This is a great start to the next gen and shows much promise for the future.
