Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed |OT| No shoes, no shirt, all fanservice!

Did you unequip them & have them be in your inventory? That's the only way to upgrade clothing & weapons for your partner. You can then give them back to your partner once you upgrade them to a desired level.
Does giving them brand new equipment not put their default equipment in my inventory? Because that's what I've been doing so far.

Gives all the fucks
It should. If you give them a new piece of clothing, what they were originally wearing will be put in your inventory & you can use it to either upgrade or for powering up other clothing.

Or maybe you need to do a fight to which you'd earn their clothing (& underwear), which allows you to wear it & put it on other girls. Multiple playthroughs will earn you duplicates of said character's clothing & underwear.

Yeah, taking it off doesn't put it in your inventory for upgrading or selling purposes. You have to win it off of them in the storyline battles to get one you can actually upgrade. So replace their normal un-touchable one with a...touchable one. Hrm.

I wonder how much of my playtime so far has been spent aimlessly running around trying to find sidequest objective NPCs that just straight up don't appear for one reason or another.

This game has a fair amount of technical and mechanical flaws, but if nothing else Acquire knew exactly what their target market was for this game. Now where's the PS4 version XSeed this framerate is driving me bananas. :<

Don't end up like me, finishing up side quest fights without realizing it (because one of the mobs got sucked into a main story fight somehow) and then spending the next half-hour wondering where to find them. You may also just need to keep your pants on a bit more, as a lot of the even important NPCs take time to load in.

Well see, right now I'm doing the "Silent Mode 2" sidequest. Where you have to find groups of enemies in six different locations and take them all out. The locations are listed in your to-do list, but the game doesn't keep track of which ones you've done, so I wanted to try to do it all in one shot so I wouldn't have to worry about forgetting which ones I've done and having to do even MORE pointless running around. So I did the first one just fine. Moved on to the second one and spent at least five minutes running around the area with no signs of the enemy group anywhere (and they have red name balloons like most sidequest objectives do, so they'd be hard to miss). So I decided to try the third area on the list and just come back to the second area afterwards. Went to the third area...and spent a further 5 minutes, or perhaps longer, running around with no sign of the enemy group whatsoever. At that point I just gave up and turned the game off.

It's honestly like every time I play this game it gives me a new reason to dislike it. =/

For that one, you just might need to move on with the story and unlock the Park cause I believe that's where I found the last mob I needed to clear the quest.

The Silent Mode missions can be frustrating if you don't know the exact locations of the thugs.

Junk Street - In the small parking lot
Radio Kaikan Area - Near the exit to Electric Town Plaza
Electric Town Plaza - Near the large stairway
UD+ - In the small pathway directly beside where you spawn from quick travel
Showa Street Exit - In the center of the map, near the stairs that lead out of Akihabara
Akihabara Park - Straight ahead from where you spawn from quick travel, on the crosswalk near the underpass

Thanks for the advice. This definitely helps.

This totally flies in the face of what the game tells you about sidequests, though. "You only have a limited amount of time to do sidequests", basically. So when I get a sidequest, I always do it right away so I don't miss the opportunity to do so. Then it gives you one that you can't do right away. Gah.

It does help that the quests trophy just ask for 30/45 of them, so you don't need to worry if you miss some

Well the Silent Quest and that other ones are repeatable so you generally have more time to do those unlike other sidequests.

But I do remember at that time I had to wait to unlock the park in order to complete the sidequests. BUT, I did find out if you bring the wrong partner or a partner to the map where the next story event will happen, it won't, so that's a way to get around this.

Okies since I wasn't far into the game anyhow I finally started anew ta keep proper track of my playtime! I was at it for an hour but the game clock say 47 mins >.> Why do so many games do this? Anyhow I got past the unblockable attack tutorial much quicker! I take it the trick is ta keep holding the stick while pressing an attack button?

I find it funny there is no touch-screen options for your phone, especially when the Vita itself forces you to use the touchscreen for almost everything else.

Okay, I give up. This sidequest has pretty much put me off of the game. The NPC enemies in Radio Kaikan, UD+, and Akihabara Park showed up just fine. But the ones in Junk Street, Electric Town Plaza, and Showa Street Exit absolutely refuse to appear. I've waited for them to load in, I've left the area and come back several times, I've done everything, but they're just not there. I give up.

It's actually to the point where I regret buying this game. Between this and all the other numerous technical problems the game has, it just isn't any fun at all. And Tom, if you read this, I want to say that everything you guys did on the game is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. The localization is top notch. The problems all fall on Acquire and how they're kinda a shitty developer.

I'm still going to try to power through the game so I don't feel like I totally wasted my money, but to say I'm disappointed would be a huge understatement. I can only really afford to buy one game a month, and at this point I wish I had chosen differently.

About the conv above ,i must admit , the only problem this game has is the load times for npcs.I must admit that it's annoying.

Just did "idol@saster 2", went in expecting the same thing as the first mission and found out that regular human girls with tennis rackets are to be feared. Died once , thankfully this lenghty fight ( that doesn't leave your much room to breathe , let's face it ) was done thank to this AI glitch i found.. Not really a glitch but i knew that the ennemy in this game never attacks right away after certain conditions so i could heal when needed. After all it was just a matter of using the map to heal in peace.

Wait you don't need ALL 6 location to finish the quest. don't you need only 3 out of 6 ? That's how i passed this mission !

I thought that might be the case, since I watched a Youtube walkthrough and they only did three of the locations. But I've done three, and whenever I talk to the guy who gave me the mission, he only says "Good luck". Unless the third one I did glitched out because a policewoman got involved. I beat all the required enemies but now that I think about it I didn't get any message at the bottom of the screen saying I'd beaten them.

...dammit.

EDIT: Yep, went back and checked all six locations again. None of the sidequest enemies are spawning at all now. Which means the game thinks I beat the ones at Akihabara Park, but I didn't get credit for the sidequest objective, since I still can't turn it in.

Fuck fuck fuck.

Well you need the message that you beat all the guys at the bottom of the screen for it to count. This is weird since i didn't think that a policeman/woman arresting someone would lead to this issue.

The best advice if it indeed is a bug is to advance the story , fail that quest and retry for a new game plus
. You don't need every side mission to get a trophy so you should just let it go and try at another time.

did the police captured one of the thugs? you need that message that appears when you defeated all the thugs to show up for it to count.

btw, do the clothes stripped by your partners gets added in your inventory?

It is indeed because a policewoman got involved, but it shouldn't prevent you from finding one more group and finishing the quest. Have you gone back and re-checked each of the areas you've already been to? Enemies will sometimes respawn in areas that have already been cleared -- and I think their chance to spawn is random each time you enter an area, so if you go back and forth to each of the six areas, another group should eventually spawn for you.

And yes, we are aware that this quest is kind of clunky -- sorry!

Beat Tohko and Shizuku's TRUE END, now aiming for either Shion or Rin. Unless they're all that is left.

Playing as Nana for this playthrough though, was a random street chick for my 2nd playthrough.

I've spent so much time going back and forth between the six areas that I've lost count, honestly. So yeah, I definitely have re-checked them all. I'll try it one more time the next time I start the game up, but after that I'm just going to let the quest expire.

Help me out with this one, I'm getting ganked right after Shizuku does lol. They're super annoying though. Their moveset happens to be faster than my aluminum bat so I can't combo very well when there's a lot of them.

Well you need minimum of damage and resistance first.. Why ? because you can be easily outnumbered by girls and your Cloth HP goes down very fast ...
I think you need a weapon with at least 200 ATK and at least 200 for the rest of your head, torso, leg gear
So :
Rule 1 : use the combinaison with your partner. It's free , will clear 1 ennemy if you have enough ATK ,but everyone near it will be stopped for a few seconds.
Rule 2 : heal often.. if you arrange your clothes after a combinaison attack it's most of the time risk-free.
Rule 3 : Chain strip combo. Don't hesitate to change your target to hit as much ennemies as possible in order to prepare for this combo.
Rule 4 : use a weapon that can target many ennemies at once.
Rule 5 : counter -attack as much as you can but don't abuse it.It can lead youto be circled by ennemies and it can be certain death because the ennemies don't hésitate to grab your clothes.
Rule 6 : Target your companion ennemy as soon as you see her take too much damage. In most cases , your companion WILL use this little break time to heal.
Rule 7 : Remember those are regular girls , so when stripped , they will try one last attack on you. don't try to defend against it , just run away
Rule 8: You can force the game ennemies to stop attacking for a few seconds ( enough to arrange your clothes ) by changing the battle zone. I don't mean to leave the area .. i mean to run to avoid getting surronded. if you place yourself at the opposite side of a large objet ( like those circle little gardens), you'll have more than enough time to recover and go on the offensive BEFORE they will resume attacking you.. So ,
You run away , they will follow , stop before trying to surrond you , during that time , just heal and resume stripping them.

I did it with a umbrella BTW

No, there's 48 missions total & you only need to do 10 & 30 for trophies.

That's weird. I should I have them both then. I've just done the new ones when they popped up and haven't bothered with the ones I've done on my first playthrough. Well whatever. I'll just do them over again

Sweet, I'll give it a try tonight. I know my aluminum bat is around 300 atk...Shizuku is using mostly default stuff though, she doesn't last long at all. Might be time to hit up the upgrades, shame you can't upgrade the character-specific stuff.

Might be a good idea in invest in better clothes for her, but if you try to protect her during the fight , she'll still last a long time.

PS3 now has Rin's Swimwear & Shizuku's Swimwear up. $2 each.

Edit: Shion's & Tohko's Swimwear are up for PS3 as well, along with Kati's Swimwear. Guess this week is all about the paid swimsuit DLC.

Might have to leave soon, so will have to post the Vita links later when they're up.

Nana's Swimwear should also be popping up any minute. And yeah, this week is the week of paid DLC swimsuits -- figured we'd get them out of the way sooner rather than later.

After this batch, though, every other piece of DLC that's coming will be free. And we have DLC scheduled to drop every Tuesday from now through the end of September.

EDIT: Oh! I should also mention, before anybody buys any of these, that a "Heroine Swimsuit Set" should be popping up soon too, containing all six of the other swimsuit sets for $7.99, saving you four bucks.

Very nice, thanks!

I think I'll give the PS3 one a download this evening. It's a shame they're not Cross Buy, though. :(

...On second thought, I might wait for the PS4 version and purchase the DLC there, since that will be my "primary" version when I receive it.

Nope, it's just the swimsuits this week. Looking at the list, we still have:

- Disgaea weapon
- Hyperdimension Neptunia set
- Ragnarok Odyssey ACE set
- Nitro+ aka the Super Sonico costume
- Gamers costumes aka Di Gi Charat costume
- M's clothing (based on that one store)
- Mega Tokyo Toybox clothing
- Okayama Denim shirt

We'll probably get 2 per week like last time. Gematsu has pics for most of them.

God less the Bio-Leek. While I stumbled around with the laptop and arcade board, the Bio-Leek led me to the game's conclusion. It had a weird (and long winded) attack where the hero would stumble around, suddenly unable to hold the violating vegetable upright, but it did some great damage no matter how awkward it was.

Technical issues rarely affect my enjoyment, so AT's pop-in and slowdown didn't diminish my overall feelings. It's a really great brawler, and I'm debating go through it again or holding off for the PS4 version. What to do what to do...

I figured you all might be interested in an interview I did with XSEED Games' Tom Lipschultz (wyrdwad around these parts), and the companies Executive VP, Ken Berry. It's intended as a post-mortem, and we spoke about bringing the game over (with a shout out to GAF of course), when and when not to listen to your audience, and the series' future. Here's a cool bit!

As per XSEED’s Games efforts, ACQUIRE has drawn up male portraits of the game’s boss characters, a feature that was previously exclusive to the females. How was ACQUIRE approached with this request? Do you believe it will have an impact of future ACQUIRE releases?

TL: When we first played the game to evaluate it, we were all pretty surprised – as a lot of fans are –that there seemed to be equally as much male fan service present in it as there is female fanservice. Its premise really makes you think that you’re about to play a game where you’ll beseeing nothing but half-naked women the whole way through (supported in no small part by the glut of games that feature exactly that), and yet Akiba’s Trip is a title that gives you half-naked men in a largely equal proportion.

But as we played further, we found that what we initially thought to be a 50/50 balance was still skewed a bit in favor of female fan service, as players were given pinup-style “strip portrait” images as rewards for defeating female boss enemies, yet were not given equivalent strip portrait images for defeating male boss enemies. And we felt this was kind of a shame, since the rest of the game was so even-handed.

So we started batting around the idea of asking ACQUIRE to draw male strip portraits and add them to the game to help restore its gender balance. At first, this was kind of just a pipe dream, as we weren’t even sure how to broach the subject of drawing half-naked male pinups with a Japanese game developer. But the more we thought about it, the more we realized that it was really a good idea, especially since we could then offer this treat for players regardless of their sexual preference.

Ultimately, we did ask ACQUIRE, since we could justify the request not just from a social and artistic point of view, but from a business point of view as well. And to our surprise, ACQUIRE on board right away, and set to work on creating the new strip portraits immediately — which they then added at the last minute to the Japanese PS4 release of the game as well, and even advertised in trailers for it.

Which sort of answers the second part of your question, too: I definitely think this will have an impact on future ACQUIRE releases, since they took to this idea so readily and ran with it so completely. It was probably just not something they’d ever considered before, but now that the idea has been planted, I’d be really shocked if we didn’t see it again in some of their future titles.

While I don't provide scores, I have a review up as well if the OP is still making additions.

Now that I've had time to think about it...I think I'm going to pursue another playthrough on my Vita. I don't think I can wait.

alright guys, who should i pair with for the best ending/interesting story?

The most unique and interesting story route is definitely Shion's, but she's also the hardest to pair with.

My personal favorite is Shizuku's. But your mileage may vary.

I'd say go with whichever girl you like best. ;)

Yeah, Shion probably had the most interesting story overall, especially since you fight the most bosses with her route. Though because of this, it's not recommended doing her route on Gamer or Otaku.

& UUGGHHHH, I hate when about 4 enemies gang up on me in a corner & I just get destroyed, resulting in my coat & pants being completely ruined, being saved by the fact my headphones somehow had health, but then gotta deal with going back & rebuying my stuff.
