Aliens: Fireteam Elite - Announce Trailer (Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5, Steam)

Point defence looks interesting. I was playing this last night. Explosions! Challenge card is hilarious. Especially when your doing well and the game tries to trip you up by throwing the kitchen sink at you.

Details of Season 2 DLC.

TragicPeek(YT) — Q: Hoping we get a crossplay feature to bring all the players together. Is this something we will see in the future of the game?

Higgs - A
: We are working towards it! Crossplay with Xbox and Windows Store will be released with Season 2, and that is a big first step - we have nothing to announce further but it’s something we want to achieve at some point.

Do they mean there will be cross-play between Steam, Xbox and Winstore, or only between Xbox and Winstore?

That type of game (coop only, no pvp) without cross-play among all the platforms it's available on is nonsense today. Taking in consideration its diminishing player base - the situation is even worse.

I'm sure that we will get cross play.

Well I tried it again after all these patches, still stuck on the last mission, which is my own fault but the main set up of the game still irks me. It has the trappings to be so much better than it is.

The basic mission structre is so damn stiff, once you do a mission you know exactly what'll happen the next five times you try it, zero variation. The med pac setup is complete turd, use one, pick up one, hope you dont die inbetween, it gets old fast.

There are some excellent moments mind you, aliens rushing you down tunnels, pulse rifles going off, aliens death screaming, it's perfect but the other various niggles just put the boot in too much to make it stand out. I just get the feeling that even with the limited budget and/or team size the direction and execution just misses the mark and could have been done better.

This is all purely single player mind you, maybe it's different online but from what i've seen I doubt it'd change much.

I still love and appreciate Cold Iron for working on more content, but I'll admit on the surface this new mode doesn't really look interesting enough to me to pull me back in.

But this is coming from someone that spent 80+ hours in it, lol.

Patch deployment times may vary by platform. We estimate a release for Steam and Xbox within the next few days, and PlayStation may go out next week.

We are implementing the following changes:

MATCHMAKING

  • Xbox & Game Pass: Fixed an issue where some players had to reset their game to allow matchmaking if their first attempt to matchmake failed.
  • Xbox & Game Pass: Due to an influx of players that impacted matchmaking, we've made improvements and optimizations to make matchmaking easier.

MODIFIED GAMES

  • Updated our modified game check for better consistency. Players running a modified game should receive a message letting them know that they are unable to join multiplayer.

PERKS

  • Resolved an issue where perks were behaving differently for host players vs client players.

UI

  • Fixed an issue where Combat Rating was displaying inaccurately in some screens.

VISUAL

  • Xbox: Implemented a fix that should prevent unintended white flashes on the screen.

A Fucking Idiot
This game is trash. I was looking forward to it a lot and was super disappointed. Thank you Gamepass for saving me money once again. The movements and animation play like a xbox360 game. The xenomorphs have absolutely no scare presence to them. It's like mowing down waves of bugs that are just cannon fodder instead of dealing with some of the scariest creatures ever put to science fiction. Just crap.

Stop playing on casual and man up to Extreme or above.

If anyone wants to piss themselves laughing, play on a high difficulty level with the "Quit Screwing Around" challenge card.

I haven't laughed so much playing a game in years. The card basically gives you a 50% chance to knock down or be knocked down by a team member when you walk up to them. It is hilarious.

You can see there:

This was one of my favorite games of this year. While it has its weird technical issues and weird bugs I've easily put over a 100 hours and got 100% achievements.

Insane mode was a ton of fun with a great balance if you have the right team and mindset.

P.S. Also, thanks for the review copy if you are reading this by any chance Mr PR person.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Yep, still fun. Definitely hard with bots on anything other than like medium difficulty, but still a tonne of fun if you like Aliens.

Yes I've actually been playing this. The AI team mates are incredibly accurate and efficient, much more so than most randos I would have match-made with I imagine :D

Patch deployment times may vary by platform.

We have implemented the following changes:

LOSS OF PROGRESS

  • Xbox & Windows: Fixed an issue where Xbox and Windows players might lose progress when swapping profiles, or if they loaded into a game without first loading the title screen. If any issues do persist, please let us know via our Bug Report channel on our official Discord server.

WEAPONS & ATTACHMENTS

  • The DT-57 Medved, Type 21 Tactical Shotgun, and Type 76 Auto Shotgun now use fixed spread patterns, instead of a rotating spread pattern.
  • Priming Magazine now refreshes on subsequent reloads, instead of needing the duration to complete before it can be reapplied.
  • Fixed an issue with explosions that would cause them to deal the same damage to all targets. The damage dealt by explosions now properly falls off based on each target's distance from the explosion.
  • Fixed an issue where the Extended Flash Hider and Overloaded Rounds Attachments dealt friendly damage.
  • Fixed muzzle flash visuals when using the Anti-Material Brake Attachment.
  • Fixed an issue with many automatic weapons that could cause them to have additional delay between bullets when firing them single shot/semi-automatically. Firing these weapons semi-automatically should now be much more responsive. The following guns were affected by this change: M10 Auto Pistol, Rapid Responder, M39 SMG, X43 Barrage, PPZ-49 Vol, Type 76 Auto Shotgun, M41A2 Pulse Rifle, Kramer Assault Rifle, L36 Halberd, Type 88 Heavy, EVI-81 Zvezda Plasma Rifle, and the Microburst.
  • Fixed an issue where double clicking to fire would skip the spin up time on the L59 Minigun.
  • Hardened Incendiary Sentry Guns should now correctly deal damage over time.

ANIMATION

  • Fixed an issue where using Emotes with the Phalanx Class Kit while their shield is deployed would cause the animations to clip.
  • Fixed an issue with the reload animation for the Frontier Revolver.
  • Fixed an issue where some weapons would play the reload animation twice before actually reloading.

AUDIO

  • Doc's Anesthesiologist Perk will no longer trigger a negative beep SFX when a player was hit by Spitter acid.
  • Adjusted weapon audio to be more impactful
  • Deploying multiple turrets will no longer cause audio issues.
  • Made various audio optimizations and adjustments.
  • Added SFX for Challenge Card completion or failure in the mission end screen.
  • UI SFX will no longer be dropped as a result of audio prioritization
  • Players will no longer say 'Rebooting' when reviving Hoenikker.
  • The audio notification for a player joining the queue will now only play once when two or more players join at the same time
  • Intercom announcements in the hub will now be inaudible when the Sound fx volume setting is set to 0.

CAMPAIGN

  • The Only Way to be Sure: Search: AI companions should no longer run ahead by themselves at the start of the Mission.
  • Priority One: Rescue: Players should no longer get stuck when vaulting over cover into a maintenance synth.

ENEMIES

  • Fixed an issue where elite enemies would sometimes instantly die after grappling a player.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Optimized the Point Defense map.
  • Fixed minor visual issues on the terrain in the Point Defense Map.
  • Fixed an issue where elite enemies could not attack players in a specific area of the Horde Mode map.
  • Point Defense: players should no longer see an unintentional cube when interacting with defense points.
  • Made environment improvements in the "The Only Way to Be Sure" campaign.

GAME MODES

  • Addressed an issue where some players were unable to access Point Defense and Horde Mode when offline.
  • Attachments introduced in Season 2 will now also drop from Point Defense and as bonus rolls from successfully completing Challenge Cards. All 13 Season 2 Attachments are now obtainable by completing Point Defense on Intense difficulty or higher.
  • Point Defense: Players should no longer be able to trigger the cave-in before all players have loaded into the mission.
  • Point Defense: Adjusted difficulty on Extreme and Insane levels by reducing the number of Elite enemies that spawn during phases 2 and 3. Increased the health of the defense points in higher difficulties.

KITS

  • Technician: Fixed an issue where the Technician's Flame Turret wouldn't fire at critters through animated doorways.
  • Technician: Real-Time Resource Reclamation Perk now works properly with Ability Recharge bonuses. Additionally, the delay before it explodes on death has been reduced.
  • Gunner: Incendiary Burst Ability now visually scales with Radius increases.
  • Phalanx: Shock Pulse and Concussion Pulse Abilities now visually scale with Radius increases.
  • Doc: Suppression Station Ability now increases size correctly when combined with radius perks.

UI

  • Fixed an issue where the Egress point at the end of a Point Defense mission would show the wrong icon on the Motion Tracker.
  • Fixed an issue where Weapon Colors would not apply if a player exited the menu from the Weapon Appearance screen.
  • Fixed an issue where the Sidearm UI prompt would still show in instances where Sidearms are disabled, like when certain Challenge Cards are in use.

GENERAL

  • Fixed a crash that would occur when using the Smooth Bore Barrel Attachment with specific weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies would sometimes fall through the floor.
  • Firing weapons while on the Endeavor should no longer track toward Lifetime Stats.
  • Made performance improvements.

I will make a dedicated thread to how one sees Gamepass games given you are not attached to the purchase of the game, but quick thoughts here - this game is a lot of fun. Don’t remember last time I felt badass like when you are moving down hordes of xenomorphs, real Aliens moment right there.

It doesn’t have super deep lore, lengthy cutscenes (fuck you Outriders), but it succeeds at giving you this rush of having fun and shooting stuff.

As outbreaks of Xenomorph XX121 spread through the Frontier and Outer Rim, the Colonial Marines increasingly turned to incendiary weapons to burn out infestations, such as the X1 Fireball CQW, which allows the user to fire over obstacles for added safety.

I enjoyed this game a ton but fuckin' hell the state of this industry.

Games left and right are announcing the most basic and expected features months after launch lol. "We have a loadout feature now" Jesus wept.

Right? I did too. Honestly, for the studio that did it, the game is REALLY solid. Especially for a budget title. But I just wish it had a larger budget or some additional help to add more content. What is there is REALLY good, it just could've used a bit more meat on the bones.

I absolutely love that they're still supporting this, I really do. But after the 70+ hours I put into it, I don't think what they've been adding is enough to pull me back in unfortunately.

Honestly, if had added asymmetrical multiplayer that went through the campaign ala L4D 1/2, I would've played it much longer. Hell, just any other substantial game modes.

The following guns will now get more ammo per pickup: M10 Auto Pistol, Kramer Short-Barrel, Rapid Responder, Heirloom Standoff, Type 21 Tactical Shotgun, AM-16 Gruppa, X46 Ballista Flechette Rifle, M12 RPG.
  • TECHNICIAN: Fixed an issue with the Resource Reclamation Perk that permitted it to be slotted with Charged Coils. It now only slots with the Sentry Turret as intended.

ENEMIES

  • Fixed an issue where Spitter Acid could penetrate bullet proof glass in the Priority One: Rescue mission.
  • Fixed an issue where The Praetorian was taking increased damage to its weak point on higher difficulties. As a result of this issue and this change, we have done a rebalancing pass on Praetorians. Overall, the Praetorian should be harder on higher difficulties than it currently is and roughly the same on Casual and Standard.
    • The Praetorian will now always take 2x damage to its weak point, regardless of difficulty or other factors.
    • The Praetorian's Max Life has been reduced by ~20%.
    • When interrupting the Praetorian's bite attack, the time the Praetorian is staggered has been increased to 5 seconds (up from 4).

ENVIRONMENT

  • Fixed an issue where one-time interactable object icons wouldn't disappear after use.
  • Fixed various cover issues in Horde Mode and in Campaign Missions, as well as areas where players could get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue where a player could get stuck in cover in the Endeavor.

HORDE MODE

  • Fixed a bug in Horde Mode so that players must now face the locker in order to purchase consumables.

INTEL

  • Implemented an additional fix to help players who are missing Intel items that should have been collected.

MISSIONS

  • Fixed an instance that could cause Xenos to get stuck in the ceiling when pulled by players to certain areas.
  • Fixed various issues with cover spots in Priority One: Extract.
  • Fixed an issue where a Warrior and Runner could get stuck in the mission, Giants of the Earth: Insertion.
  • Fixed an issue where the Drone could get stuck in the final Priority One: Rescue mission fight when using the "Coming Out of the Damn Walls" Challenge Card.
  • Fixed an enemy pathing issue in The Only Way to Be Sure: Regicide mission.
  • Fixed an issue where Bursters could get stuck on the wall when using the Explosions! Challenge Card
  • Fixed an issue where some Xenos could fail to attack players in the Giants of the Earth: Insertion mission.

UI

  • Gun Perks that provide "Charge Time" now display as "Charge Speed", as this more accurately describes the stat.
  • Longer names now will shrink to fit Post Mission screens.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes enemy Health Bars wouldn't display properly
  • To optimize the Recon PUPS Ability, enemy health bars will be invisible at further distances.
  • Fixed an issue where when spectating the host, the Doc's "Gun Effectiveness Boosted!" message would display twice.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Cannot Reload" message would display when interacting with an object while at full ammo
  • Added a "Cannot Interact While Taking Damage" message that displays when a player is actively taking damage while trying to interact with objects.
  • Mission items, such as a Power Cell, will now display their locations on the Minimap.
  • Added messaging for Private Matchmaking to indicate when the host has left the group or when a player has been removed from the group.
  • Fixed an issue where Perks that modified Weapon Stats did not appropriately update in the Tooltips or Menu UI.
  • Fixed an issue where NPCs in the Endeavor would be visually outlined when the player wasn't near them.
  • Fixed an issue where interactable Mission items - such as the Valve in Priority One: Rescue would have an Ammo call out Ping instead of the correct object Ping.

GENERAL

  • Made various optimization and performance improvements
  • Added a new Persist Shoulder (ADS) gameplay setting that allows for toggling your preferred camera shoulder side when in ADS. We will be working to have this setting toggled to 'On' in a future update.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes not save after claiming Tactical Opportunity Rewards.
  • Implemented an additional fix to help players who are missing Intel items that should have been collected.
  • Fixed some crashes that were occurring on the PS4 platform.
  • Fixed various crash issues across other platforms.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
I enjoyed my time in co-op with this when it came to game pass, if they're putting out new content, I'll definitely check it out.

I just purchased this game in ps5 so yet to try it but paid dlc for 3 missions i know there is the other stuff but really those are just cosmetic .

Hopefully it’s not to expesnive as i only paid £15 for the physical game to begin with. How long do missions last generally .

Welcome to Patch Notes 1.0.3.98428. I’ll be your guide to this brief update and you’ll probably be seeing me around more often for these types of things.

First thing to know, we fixed an animation thing.

Second. We found the key and the Lancer should be unlocking properly now, so no more excuses.

Plus, the Intel menu is all in order now so you don’t have to worry about that either.

And finally, we fixed up a memory thing that was causing some crashes.

Now, I’ve got some more bugs to squash, but I’ll be seeing you all again soon.

FIXES
Patch deployment times may vary by platform. We have implemented the following changes:

ANIMATION
Fixed an issue with the reload animation on the Heirloom Standoff weapon.
CLASS KITS
LANCER: The Lancer Horde Slayer Kit Skin should now properly unlock for players who complete Horde Mode on Extreme or higher difficulties, and unlock automatically for players who have previously completed Horde Mode on Extreme or higher difficulties.
INTEL
Entries for each topic in the Intel menu should now be ordered according to the relative locations they are found in each Campaign.
GENERAL
Fixed a memory related issue that sometimes resulted in a crash.
