I hope the game isn't too easy, especially given that you can upgrade your equipment. As neat as that is, I hope you're actually encouraged to do so, rather than the game be a cake walk even with basic equipment.

I also hope it isnt too easy, but at the same time, I understand that something can be too difficult,

I was playing FFT1.3 the other day. I thought FFT was already a hard game, but apparently somebody thinks its not. 1.3 is just mindbogglingly difficult.

If somebody wants hard, they should really play ninja gaiden IMO. Zelda will never be like that, and maybe its for the best.

As others have said, one could always avoid boss hearts...but I also hate restarting too many times...sometimes I just want to soak up the game and enjoy myself...its not always white-knuckes-break-the-pad anxiety that Im after.

A friend of mine, who isn't a nerdy gamer but someone who plays more than the average dude, just finished Twilight Princess one or two months ago. After nearly 5 years. He often stopped playing the game for months, because it was too difficult for him at times.

In other words: Zelda's easy when you have played every single episode of the series. If you aren't a huge fan of the series, the games aren't as easy as many think.

My sister isn't exactly a gamer at all but she gave TP a go.... She got lost in the goron mines..

But I mean, compared to other games, Zelda is not difficult at all, so why do other people have so much trouble with it?

From the latest clips, it appears to me that the game is running at 60fps; can anyone deny/confirm? If that's the case, these are amazing news to me and above all a good indication, if needed, that Nintendo finallt understood the fundamental importance of framerate. Mybe it runs on a modified Galaxy Engine?
Anyway, a 60 fps Zelda is a steady point for Nintendo and a monition for developers whitin sight of next-gen hardware.

I'd rather say Zelda is easy for those who are used to videogames (action-adventures) in general. They aren't exactly non-linear, overwhelming games although a game like TP might seem like that

Clearly, those of us who find Zelda games too easy are amazingly clever and great puzzle solvers.

I think the idea of having free reign over where to go and what to do next are concepts that kind of bewilder less seasoned gamers. Most people like knowing that they're at A, have to get to B, and only need worry about the things in between. Having to start at A and figure out what point B even is tends to frustrate people and cause impatience since they'd rather be dropped right into the action.

Ah, nice! I await impressions :D

EDIT: Just remembered the Nintendo Connect tour. I knew there was some sort of event coming soon, I just wasn't sure, as I didn't think it was as early as Wednesday.
But yeah, later in the month they'll be bringing SS and other games around Australia.

I might try and make it, but it may be hard considering it's location.

People are getting lost in Xenoblade, a game with a huge arrow pointing at your next destination ;//

A friend of mine will get the E3 demo from Nintendo. Yes, he's allowed to keep it.

You can't imagine how much I hate him for that!

I don't know how the hell they got this but a german zelda fan site gives away 25 demo versions of SS.

I'm assuming the demo is being handed out/people are being invited to play as they are reviewers or whatever? Or have some sort of high-traffic website.

EatChildren, how come you got invited? Excuse my ignorance :p

@Mistle: I'm a writer for PALGN, and live in the same city as Nintendo of Australia, so we're fortunate enough to get invited for hands-on previews of games and such.

I'm guessing that silver case is only for the demo. Either way, lucky germans. I'd love to get my hands on that demo..

Eh, I guess the game is only 2 months away. I can wait.

This is what I was wondering. Honestly, I want the silver case over the gold case for some reason. Every Zelda Case we get is gold. Spirit Tracks had a silver one, but I didn't love the cover of it. Overload of gold!

Someone will leak it. Is demo piracy legal?

So, when are people being given copies of the demo?

The contest ends October 10th. I think then we'll see the demo in action. But don't expect something new, i think it will be the E3 demo. Bird flying, Sky temple and Ghirahim boss battle.

Just to be on the safe side, what's NeoGAF policy about pirated/leaked demo?
No idea, but I don't think there would be any tolerated form of piracy. However, considering it's a free demo.... it's kind of a grey area.

There better be dolphin screens of the ss demo being posted.
Salih said:
as far as i know it is tolerated to talk about it but no dl-links. (see Deus EX:HR)
That was because the devs allowed discussion of the leak on their own forum.

Xenoblade can be a bit visually crowded at times though. I just got to the swamp and it took me a while to orient myself even with the map.

Nintendo should just make the demo available through the Club Nintendo or something...
Or the Wii Shop Channel

How exactly does one pirate something that is given away for free?
It's still an exclusive give away not intended for everybody, so I guess it can still be seen as piracy? Though it's not like it's going to affect anything, so perhaps it's in the green.

The best cover still is the Japanese SS boxart. It's fantastic and suits SS perfectly.

So, here's the deal.

As long as this Zelda Europe fansite isn't full of shit, and has legitimate copies of a legitimate demo authorised by Nintendo for the competition, then there wont be any restriction on people discussing the content, their impressions, and so on and so forth.

But, because of the nature of how something like this might get on the internet, and what people would be required to do to obtain it, we wont be allowing discussion on where to get it (when it inevitably leaks), or how you specifically got it.

Essentially, when the time comes if you want to talk about the demo itself, do so, but don't talk about where you got it or how you're playing it.

The site seems pretty legit. At least in terms of construction and appearance. Does anybody know if the site has any sort of good reputation?

I doubt they'd get an exclusive deal. If legit, I do wonder if the demo will make it to US/UK/AUS through any sort of similar giveaway.

If a FANSITE got a hold of 25 copies of a demo (which they probably got from Nintendo Europe themselves), these CANNOT be the only copies produced unless this is the biggest of biggest fansite.

There as to be more.

... Time to send some e-mails.

Hey, they gave out ore-release Monster Hunter Tri demo discs at Gamestop, didn't they? Maybe they'll do a similar deal for Skyward Sword.

Basically the same rules that applied with the Human Revolution leak right?

If I recall correctly they are quite a large site.
