Am I the only weirdo that feels genuinely happy when a game gets delayed? (Shigeru Miyamoto fans, Get In The Thread!)

No, I'm very happy for a delay if it means the game comes out better for it.

Most games today need a patch or a dozen before they are playable. Most people get them at release only for FOMO but if you wait for 3 months you'd usually get a patched experience with a discount.

Lots of games are rushed out too early by publishers to fill in their release schedule/fiscal reports, so it's usually a good sign that a game is allowed to be delayed. Lots of games needed more timeliness KOTOR 2 and Dragon Age 2 but were forced out without polish.
