Amazon Prime Members: Get a free month when your package isnt delivered on time!

oh fuck thank god this thread came back up. I forgot to complain about like three packages from prime day that all arrived late.

This would be great if the USPS did not lie about attempting deliveries rather than listing the delivery as delayed. I was expecting a package Sunday and the fuckers did not come at all yet listed it as attempted.

Does this policy applies to Amazon UK or is it just for the US?

It applies to Amazon UK as well. Recently, an item I ordered was supposed to come on a certain day, it didn't, the item got delayed and then I missed the delivery, and I supposedly refused delivery.

I contacted the support chat and I got my Prime membership extended by 30 days. I've had it extended twice now after contacting the support chat, because of delayed item deliveries.

I should start abusing this, the last 2 packages I received were from amazon own deliver service (which was some old dude in a corolla) were both 2 days late.

they usually do that shit with USPS sometimes, it is ready for pick up or what not.

you should check it with CS.

on a side note last week i got a free 5TB External HDD because mine was opened and they didnt ask for a return when i told them about it

yea i know, usps is incompetent as fuck, i hate when they deliver my stuff cause it very rarely gets here on the promised date cause of them. they can deliver 10 things and i shit you not, only 2 out of those 10 get here on the promised date. They always mark it as delivered too and then i gotta wait for the next day for it to actually get here which is why i was asking if this works with orders marked as delivered even tho they actually weren't

Does anyone actually pay for this? I kind of resent Amazon for making us pay extra for next day delivery. Next day delivery was always the default in the UK, aka first class post. Then Amazon came along and slowly brought in this next day, 1 day, 1 - 3 days crap.

They stealthed it in without us realising what they were doing. Now everyone does it and it's the norm.

I'm in an area where they do 2 hour delivery. But recently I've rediscovered Argos... Remember them? Good old 40 odd year old Argos.
£3.95 for same day delivery on more stuff than Amazon. Been using that a lot recently for random items.

And no stupid subscription.

The thing that really annoys me is stuff that is sent by Royal Mail - when you choose 3 day... They must literally be holding the item back and artificially delaying the dispatch to make it take 3 days.

for those that get fucked by USPS marking their orders as delivered when it wasn't or they just leave it blank, you can still get the month extension, currently talking to an amazon rep and they're applying it right now for me.

nice, thanks for the feedback.

next time it happens to me i'll ask for the extension, im a bit butthurt that they dont give existing prime owners a discount on the subscription when their shows or movies win awards (only to new ones)

my prime seems to be 3 days, i speak to customer service every time and the next item i get is next day shipping.

for reference, i specifically shared the link that mentions the extension and asked if i could get it since my order wasn't delivered on time.

Now expected Aug 9 - Aug 12
We’re sorry your package is late. If it hasn’t arrived by Saturday, Aug 13, please come back for more options.

Fucking USPS has been getting absolutely worse. This is now the second package in a row late.

Well, time to contact amazon today for my free month.

Damn, I just contacted support about a late package. I did get a full refund though and the package is somewhere in my state.

Is prime being stingy with large items now? Ordered a bed frame and it's going to take 10 days to get here. Ordered on the 6th and it's not getting here til the 17th.

Wish I knew this earlier, Id already have at least 2-3 extra months this year thinking back on my packages

and then some.....sometimes I have seen them offer even minor gift cards and shit to depending on the price of the item. The free month is already great since I'm watching vikings atm lol. But hell them giving a $10 gift card once in awhile is just more icing and proves how much I love their CS!

Does anyone know if this works if they cancel an order due to lack of availability? Kinda bummed they straight up cancelled one of my book orders without even offering me anything.

Literally no one knew about this.

Yep. The few times I've complained about something being late they've usually just credited me the $3.99 or whatever two-day shipping costs for non-members. It's been a while since something has t came on time for me though.

Has anyone got a package delayed that never arrived, then Amazon CS sent another package which also got delayed? Bloody Wrench took 11 days to arrive even though I'm a Prime member.

Wrench is also shipped and sold by Amazon. This is the only time the past few years shipping delay has gotten this bad. I hope this doesn't happen again.

I didn't know this although two years ago I did complain to them when this shitty ass company Lasership they use never delivered my item on time and they gave me a month free. 99% time though I do get my items on time.

I'm never going to have to pay for Amazon Prime again.

Haha...yeah pretty much this. Nearly half of my Prime deliveries are nowhere near 2-day anymore. I've ordered things on Monday afternoon that haven't been delivered until Thursday or Friday.
