Analog control in PSone Classics played on PSP!?

I'm trying to play Crash 3 on my PSP Go but no matter what I do can't seem to enable analog control!? The "Type 4" setting just maps the Dpad to the nub which obviously makes the game control horribly, so am I really stuck here? I know for a fact that Crash 3 supports analog control and it was one of its major improvements over its predecessors but if I can't get it on my PSP then I'm going to feel a little jipped. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd have known this, its a baffling omission, either that or I'm missing soemthing obvious.

I've never had an issue. One thing it could be is maybe you have to turn it on thru the emulation because it is like that on PS3. There was a button on the PS1 DS that enabled it.

I know for a fact you can use the analog stick on some PS1Classics, I played thru MGS1 a few weeks ago with it. I have a PSP2000, but I'm sure that doesn't matter.

I've never seen the option. If it's there and I've just not seen it, that'd be wonderful.

My PSP battery is dead as always, I'll try and fire it up and detail it.

EDIT: Okay, this isn't going to help I suspect, but it is working fine on my PSP with MGS1, I've double checked. The control options aren't the same as PS3, you can't turn on or off analog, so I really have no idea what's wrong in the OPs case. All of my 'Controller Settings' include the nub. Sorry I couldn't help.

You can use the analog stick in Crash 3, I'm certain of it, I did it not too long after buying it. Granted, don't ask me where the option is, because I only did it once due to how bad the PSP's analog nub is. :lol

I can use it just fine, but only map it to the Dpad which is completely useless. The nub on the Go is much improved both in terms of the amount of play the stick has and its positioning, which makes it actually a pretty decent alternative to a full analog stick. The improved nub is one of the best things about the Go so its a pain I can't use the bloody thing.

Fwiw, under control options there's only "assign controller port" and "assign buttons" all the rest are listed under the PS3 and they're greyed out, including the "switch analog mode" toggle.

Nothing useful under "other settings" either. So, any ideas?

Like I say, I can map stuff to the nub but not the PS1's actual analog sticks, so I'm restricted to digital control, which makes the nub completely useless. Same deal with MGS. So are you actually getting proper analog control in MGS?
