Never heard of Andy Ngo before this incident.

Is Andy a shit disturber looking for hits in stupid situations?

Or is he truly a good guy who got unlucky with the Antifa thing?

Just wondering if he's getting into dumb situations looking for fame.

He's a journalist who does a lot of on the ground reporting. He writes for Quillette (centrist site) and WSJ.

Ah thanks Tesseract and EviLore. Lazy me, I shoulda googled him to see what shows up. His Wikipedia doesn't show a ton of events, but enough to see he lives in Portland and seems to get involved with Muslim and Antifa issues.

Who knows what other kinds of material he's done, but IMO he seems to get himself in situations. My first thought is he's a big time conservative looking for action to get attention...... then to my surprise (or not?), the last paragraph in the wiki is him being described as conservative, though Ngo claims he isn't.

he's conservative in that he criticizes far left elements at times
but he's also been on fox news and called them out for pushing an agenda

Any Portland businesses out there needing help filling a job?

Here's a chart of 20 people that surely have the look, personality and work ethic of a keener putting in good work and striving to move up the ladder.

Look at that guy in the bottom right corner. Looks like he just got defrosted from a glacier from 40,000 years ago.

Antifa member defends violent attack on Andy Ngo and claims Trump supporters are racists, then the non-white interviewer reveals she is a Trump supporter, and his mind literally shuts down while experiencing an anxiety attack.

Go 2:30 in

Lol he shuts down and goes to get back up to push them away. Pathetic.

These people literally look like some type of mindless cult,.

They are cultists. The deranged fan-waving mob are also the same kind of people who want sexualise children with their rainbow philosophy.

Deprogramming the brainwashed is sometimes dangerous as when there is a "reset", a new era of thinking can take over, sometimes suddenly, shocking the subject into irrational thought. This can sometimes be met with a splintering of ideas, and often finding a new "bad guy" and following others en masse in a march against this new boogeyman, and another cult can be formed, as soon as they leave the old one, and it can often become even more hardline, and delusional.

A slow, rational approach is often needed. Gently guiding the "programmed" in actual reality, and honest discussion. This way they can reflect, while still being challenged in their obviously flawed beliefs.

This meme of "NPC" is more accurate then most honestly believe.

Accurate. Unfortunately, I think that may have happened with Acerac 🙁

This isn't the guy who attacked Gno, but is one of the people who attacked the big bald guy from behind while he tried to help the older guy. According to this article the antifa dude went on to punch a female officer while trying to escape.

Comments I've read suggest the crimes he's accused of have fairly stiff mandatory sentences if found guilty.

Another thing about this video that I wanted to highlight. The fucks with the fans and face make up are made up like geisha. Aren't the leftists still against cultural appropriation? I mean they shut down an exhibition event about kimonos through protest in 2015 yet here they are accepting a bunch of white folks with culturally appropriated make up on harrassing a minority journalist of color. I don't understand this level of hypocrisy.

I've said it before, but this is the real danger of intersectionalism. Most people, when presented with a conflict between two of their beliefs, feel cognitive dissonance and are forced to reject one, preferably the 'bad' idea. That's literally why we feel it.

The reason intersectionalism is such a truly dangerous ideology is that it has coopted this as a defensive mechanism and uses it as a protective barrier. Anyone caught questioning opposing beliefs is rejected from the group and ostracized, and embracing conflicting beliefs is seen as a virtue. The cognitive dissonance, which should be causing internal reevaluation of ideas to find a new truth, is instead weaponized into frothing anger that is externalized onto whoever caused them to briefly entertain wrongthink.

When people talk about a culture war, they mean it. This isn't just two sides with differing opinions. The intersectionalist idealogy literally reprograms how we think. Core precepts like free speech, the presumption of innocence, and the scientific method are at risk.

In a grand twist of irony, intersectionalism is also extremely hierarchical, but the hierarchy is a funny one: it's not specific leaders in charge per se, but rather it is the volume of the screaming and the passion of the delivery that determines the behavior of the group. "Social justice" is a correct descriptor because the justice is determined socially instead of individually. Groupthink is celebrated instead of discouraged.

Just like socialism/communism, their ideology is where the individual goes to die for the salvation of the soul. Then they can be blessed with spiritual resurrection through participation in the group's action. It is a religious cult.

EDIT: I know I mention this constantly, but folks should read True Believer by Eric Hoffer if you haven't already. The details of their ideology might be novel or bizarre, but the underlying mechanisms of how they operate are very old.

This is probably the best take I've heard on this yet, sorry if already posted. He is completely on the money on every aspect of this, I don't think anyone could put it better.

One of the things he touches on that I also can't stand and people do this all the time. When you back someone into a corner who has an agenda and can't rationally defend any side of the argument, they just pivot and go "Well what about ______???" and change the subject. And he's right so many people are doing this. It just shows you how these people don't really care about human decency or doing the right thing, they just want to promote an agenda.

Really good interview. Listening right now.

It’s funny how Portland is “one of the most progressive places in the country” yet it is also one of the whitest. It’s like 77% white. So you have mostly white people going around in a majority white town beating people up.... but it’s good??? So dumb

It definitely seems their are more "people of color" in the racist Proud Boys organization than in the inclusive, non-threatening antifa. 🤷‍♂️

Politically it is, and it's getting more diverse. They don't have the colleges there to pull in more young people from all over the country there, unlike cities like Eugene Oregon.

They don't have the colleges but Portland's street culture brings in plenty of young homeless junkies, ripe for the Antifa picking.

I was born and raised in Beaverton and have had plenty of run ins with the street kids downtown. That's what my lived experience tells me.
Ah well that's not exactly a thing right now. None of those kids fit the homeless bill today. If antifa was in Eugene it would totally fit, lol.

ssolitare is trying to call others prejudiced?

I guess you are too.
