Anita Sarkeesian: "No more excuses for the lack of women at E3".

yeah, just ignore and move on. no need to pay this any attention, as no normal person should pay attention to trash in the trash can.

also, I would gladly support games with female leads. I mean, the real star in Subverse are the ladies after all 😁

Anita wouldn't be happy until there's not a single male character in any game and not a single male employee in the entire industry.

Like I said, she's a monster, she's a demon, she's a witch, she's literally everything wrong with modern culture wrapped up in one single person.

I feel like every decade a new one of these idiots pops up, they all eventually disappear.

Remember Jack Thompson? Funny guy.
Or Joe Lieberman in the '90s.

The difference is, every gamer hated those assholes, but a surprising amount of gamers love Anita even though she's not different.

It's funny how feminists and SJWs whine constantly about representation and how important it is, but the second some straight white guy wants to buy a game with a character that looks like him he's a white supremacist nazi. Meanwhile white males make up the lion's share of videogame purchasers yet somehow they shouldn't get representation in line with their majority both demographically but also as game buyers, especially when it comes to the kind of AAA games Anita is talking about.
It's because they hate white men, they are literally bigoted against white men.

This might be overly simplistic and belie my sympathy for a lot of causes that have been appropriated by the radical left, particularly in gaming, but the fact is:

This bitch don't game. I don't care what she thinks about the hobby. Our industry could be made straight from the outlines in her Lisa Frank journal, and she still wouldn't pick up a controller and jam out. She's a bad faith interlocutor with way too much attention paid to her.

We need good game representation. A female lead means nothing if the game ends up being shit.

personally, i have nothing against her. she is a basic academic feminist who did a kickstarter and made the videos she said she was going to do. i thought the videos for the most part were really good. yes she made generalizations but these are 20 minute videos not 20 page academic papers. yes she represented things in a way that made her argument sound good. that is ok. that is called making an argument.

the amount of backlash she is gets is what gives her power. without so many people screaming at the top of their lungs that this person is trying to ruin all of gaming, she would not have so big a profile. in reality she has little influence, and it only grows the more people entertain this fantasy.

all the "why doesn't she make her own game?" talk is so tired. why doesn't Jim Sterling do the same? no, he just stands on a soapbox, literally calls himself God, and constantly demands game companies change the way they do things. when is his game coming out? it's a shitty double standard.
Her target from the beginning was to destroy what gaming was and convert it into some sort of feminist games only...

They did. Jane Jensen, Roberta Williams, Lori Ann Cole all made wonderful games. People like you stopped buying them. Show your fucking support and buy the new games Jane Jensen made.

What about Hanako games where she makes the types of games she likes which are graphic novels or dating sims or slice of life games? Just because something isn't front and center doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Get out of your big money bullshit and explore the world of gaming. There's lots of awesome indie games and classic games made by females that stand the test of time. Or is it because they weren't bombastic bullshitters that made bajillions of dollars so they don't count?

And I would say CuntH should give her the Texas Chilli Dog, but she'll probably be offended that his name has CUNT in it.

Why would I buy games I don't enjoy in a token show of support? I'd rather support the people making the games I do like, regardless of what their sex, race, or creed is, because at the end of the day it is about the games, not about how somebody i don't even know feels about themselves. Sending the message that the sex of your employees is more important than the quality of your product is a really dumb message if you like good products.

I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to people who whine about women not being in gaming. Those three women made some of the best games that the computer industry ever made. Gabriel Knight 1 and 2 were amazing. King's Quest was really good too. Until 7. and the Quest for Glory set of games were fucking legendary.

If you're not a fan of adventure games that's cool and I"m not saying you have to support them. However, they made some awesome games that hit critical acclaim and were very well received and loved. They're not huge billion dollar hits, but they were amazing games that defined their genre.

My advice to her-

Go make a game yourself instead of telling other game makers how to make their games.
I have said the same thing every time someone says "Why is there not enough people of this type or this type or this minority or that minority". I guess it is far easier to sit on the internets and scream from your armchair soap box than learn to create games and try and actually do something other than stink up the room. We live in a day where indy games of surpassing quality are made with skeleton crews of developers and are put out for consumption. There is no excuse.

Seriously, hell yes to all three of those female game producers, they made some of my favorite games of all time. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness, and King's Quest VI were 3 of the most incredible narratives I've ever experiences. I desperately miss those games and the worlds they created.

It's all very well to call out publishers for not kowtowing to modern political ideals, but at the end of the day, they're businesses, not charities. And at this point the video game industry is a well-oiled machine geared towards giving paying customers what they want. Publishers won't change the status quo by telling people what they should like, as opposed to actually delivering it. They'll go out of business.

If Sarkeesian wants to go ahead and invest her significant earnings in her own commercial video game starring a gay black disabled woman, then I wish her luck. But I'd be surprised if she did.

Of course she wouldn't. That would be putting the money where the mouth is. As stated the reason they do not get made as much is because of appeal. People like our dear Anita do not but games. They scan youtube videos and go by word of mouth. Much like most soap boxers and inactivists. Sadly there are plenty of sheep ready to rally to the flag of impotent rage. And we all know that sheep are fucking stupid and follow anything blindly which is why HE speaks so often of them.

This thread has just reminded me of three things:

A. Anita Sarkeesian still exists, apparently

B. A surprisingly good chunk of people in this thread believe in, to quote a very wise man, "some Alex Jones level conspiracy crackpot bullshit"

C. Victim complexes. All across the board.

Now you gotta elaborate that more, what's the conspiracy and what's the victim complexes?

I did. I love Roberta Williams and think her games were top notch, I also love Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry, but Kings Quest was the best.

Sierra games were peak top notch for me growing up gaming and Roberta was very much part of my childhood.

This is why I don’t understand why women are so mad about men being on screen, but being written by women.

They are still very much part of the process when it comes to making games, but because your controller moves a male it makes all thier roles invalid?

I just find it crazy that some people appearantly want to publicy share their thoughts like "id fuck her omg so hot let me put my dick in her omg" like...whoa..ok, take a step back from the keyboard. I don't care what you think but sharing this with anyone else may not be the BEST idea.
It isn't any more crazy than you sharing your high morals.

On the conspiracy side, there are plenty of people that legitimately believe that she's trying to ruin gaming, and exact white genocide. Or how "the left" is waging a "war on quality".

As for victim complexes, we've got people whining about how she's supposedly calling everyone that doesn't mind straight white dudes in games nazis.
