I guess they didn't kill this woman? She was locked in a room for 17 days in the Scientology Center in Clearwater after she was considering Leaving the "Church" They initiated a Program of isolating so they can "realize they were wrong" to consider leaving.

She was starved to death, dehydrated and literally chewed up by Cockroaches while locked in the room. yet she was "being cared for"

three nationally prominent forensic pathologists opined that the manner of death was "homicide". Pathologist Werner Spitz, M.D. wrote in his affidavit that "the insect bites appearing in the autopsy photographs of Lisa McPherson, and in particular on her hands and feet, are antemortem and peri-mortem/postmortem."

Scientology argues that postmortem cockroach bites are irrelevant, since Lisa could not personally experience the bites and trauma from it.
Is she the one who was having a breakdown?

As Scientology believes psychiatrists and psycho-active drugs are evil, they refuse to acknowledge or treat anyone who is having a psychotic break. And use very dubious and arguably dangerous techniques to literally snap someone out of their psychotic episode.

Which proved fatal in this case.

They take a similar approach when treating drug-addicts in their sister organisation Narconon, effectively making them go cold turkey while also pumping them full of the usual Scientology propaganda nonsense.

Scientology's a crock of shit, no doubt, but all the harm they inflict is on people who subject themselves voluntarily to it. And they don't kill people. That's what separates them from Al Qaeda. Casinos, cigarette companies, fast-food chains, etc. do the same thing that Scientology does with far graver results.
This

Scientology is 100% harmless my ass

Yeah - rat poison is a single poison. Shampoo has more poisons than rat poison.
The people behind TRUTH /are/ the cigarette companies.

Thankyou for that pointless deflection, that totally ignores the reality of the situations in favor of a body count comparison. :lol

Uh, no.
They pay for it because they're forced to.

Shouldn't cigarette companies be allowed the freedom of speech? Shouldn't they be allowed to have magazine ads, billboards, tv commercials, etc? Shouldn't they be able to advertise with cartoon characters?

I say, YES.

Lisa McPherson is the wrong choice for a poster child for the evils of Scientology. Basically she and her advisers declined any medical help and chose to rely on the power of prayer. It's the kind of thing that happens weekly with the Church of Christian Science. The numerous families that have been destroyed should be the focus to display their evils.

No, the reports around her death indicate she was detained and restrained against her will.

She was the one who had a psychotic breakdown after a minor fender bender?

Wiki:

McPherson was involved in a minor car accident. She was apparently not hurt, but she got out of her car and took off all her clothes, and seemed mentally unstable. She was taken to a hospital where she was physically evaluated as being unharmed, but the hospital wanted her to be psychologically cared for. With the assistance of fellow Scientologists, McPherson refused psychiatric observation or admission at the hospital and checked herself out after a short evaluation.
She had a nervous breakdown and then denied the care of the hospital and chose to go to her Scientology care center. I don't know how capable of making choices she was at that point but I'm just saying that refusing medical treatment in favor of her groups wishes happens daily with the Church of Christian Scientists.

I think the group should be held accountable for practicing "medicine," with out a license but if you use her as an example the easy counter argument is that it happens with greater frequency in other churches.

Y'know, I think "Anonymous" might be a stand alone complex.

EDIT: I didn't read the whole thread. Someone a few posts above me said the same thing. :lol

The real story which the hospital will Back up and legal documents form the Court cases against Scientology make very clear she was taken from the Hospital against her will. her "Chuch" Sponsored Guardians took here from there. She didn't leave cause she wanted too. In fact before this all happened she publicly discussed leaving the group.

Earlier that year she donated all the money to her name then she was dead. Starved,Dehydrated and munched on by Bugs all while under "care" in a Secret No access allowed Scientologist Compound

I'd say the critical point is when the Scio suits arrive and start calling the shots on her behalf - once they got her out of the hospital she was detained and restrained until her death.

http://www.factnet.org/letters/FACTNewsMay2002LisaMacPherson.html?FACTNet

She was taken to a hospital where she was physically evaluated as being unharmed, but the hospital wanted her to be psychologically cared for.

However, some Scientologists arrived and stated that Lisa did not believe in psychiatry, and she checked out after a short evaluation and left with the Scientologists. Lisa was put on the "Introspection Rundown" (that Scientology charges large fees to receive) to handle those who have had a psychotic break. On December 5, 1995, Lisa McPherson was dead on arrival at a hospital 45 minutes north of Clearwater Florida. According to the coroner's report, Lisa was underweight, severely dehydrated, and had bruises and bug bites.

Absolutely. It's part of how they keep the bandwidth down. Old topic are purged are new ones are created.

Are you seriously trying to suggest that the media is neutral? :lol
Well I think we've already established that you're suggesting the media made up a story of a woman's death when there is no evidence anywhere that contradicts what has been said in this thread about the matter. There are police records about these sorts of things.

I hope when Tom Cruise dies (which I imagine will be any day now in a murder suicide, poor Katie...you know she's going to snap) so does this shitty Scientology fad

Fusebox said:
If anything mainstream media has already shown that it's extremely reluctant to go after Scientology.
Every entertainment show I've seen is fucking TERRFIED to dare say anything but praise for it. ET has Cruise's crazy dick in their mouth 24/7 for example.

As much as scientology may be dispicable and evil and ruins lives - how are a bunch of hackers going to bring down a gigantic cult like that?

handing out flyers = raid? posting things on the internet in dramatic fashion = wow awesome.
isnt this just the equivalent of a bunch of bored kids playing pranks or causing as much mischief as they think they can get away with?

this is nothing like being a vigilante or freedom fighter or anything else like that - those people actually get things done, risk much and fight for a belief. this is just (pretty powerful) kids in a cyber playground.

it doesnt get real until they step out of that playground and do something more than prank.

still i'm glad they're targeting something they wont hurt unlike the poor individuals they've managed to fuck over.

when I see stuff like this, it just reminds me of the delinquents who have nothing better to do than huddle on the streets looking for fights, drugs or something to steal/beat up. its a shame people become like this so easily.

In fairness to them there is meant to be a lot more coming:

4.1 Section 0: Good ol' DDos
4.1.1 DDoS Protection: Prolexic
4.2 Section 1: Phone and Fax
4.3 Section 2: Anti-propaganda
4.3.1 Secret Scientology Documents
4.3.2 Press Work and Media Attention
4.3.3 Digg, Reddit, and Internet News
4.3.4 YouTube Bump
4.4 Section 3: Neutralize threats to the raid
4.4.1 Spam their info-leak drop-boxes!
4.5 Section 4: IRL Raids
4.5.1 Arguing with Scientologists during raids
4.6 Section 5: Deconversion of Current Scientologists
4.7 Section 6: Snail Mail Bouncing

And the internet is actually a good weapon against Scientology, because information is their greatest enemy. What better way of delivering that information than a medium that cannot be easily censored?

In no way would The Simpsons ever make fun of Scientology.. Nancy Cartwright who voices Bart has been a Scientologist for years. Who knows how many people who work on the show have gotten into it thanks to her.

E-drama is fun but rarely affects anything. The only way this will have any longlasting impact is if Anon keeps it up for months, effectively kicking Scientologies online presence in the balls and tossing its corpse into the East river.

I didn't even think they had much of an online presence. Don't they work from readings ----> conversions?

This evening, Splongcat of project chanology revealed IP adresses, which were hacked through prolexic Anti-DDoS services. Appareantly PROLEXIC security is no match for Anonymous hackers, who claim that the company is "amateuristic and unable of basic networking at best." Splongcat comments: We did it for lulz

Geezus fucking christ!
Like some of us said, don't fuck with Anon.

I said this in another scientology thread, but last semester two of my friends and I entered the church of scientology here in front of UT and took the personality tests. To fuck with them we put down the worst answers possible. We made them believe we were angry, druggies, soon to be dropouts and kicked out of the house. They spent a good hour going over our personality tests and how scientology could be used to help us fulfill our potential and blah blah. One of my friends who was the 'angry' one, when they were talking to him he would reply "YOU DONT KNOW ME!!" or "Thats bullshit." Fun stuff. Of course we had to buy the damn books to go further and attend lectures or some shit. We never went back of course but its funny to remember.
