China money should always be suspicious, but at the end of the day, as an Xbox/iOS fan who is seriously disappointed in the current Xcloud situation, thinks 30% is ridiculous, and is fed up with Apple's shit in general, this is wonderful, and I absolutely will cheer Epic on.
As turnabout is fair play, I wonder how many salty Apple/Steam/anti-Fortnite warriors are in here?
Epic is putting on this show like they're doing this for the people. Maybe they are, I don't know. They've gotten us cross-platform console multiplayer, set an example of non-predatory microtransactions, and reduced this same 30% fee significantly on their own platform. Pledging that the money, if they win, will go directly to consumers in the lowered V-Bucks prices we've already seen yesterday, is also nice.
I can't help but notice that all those things help them too, though, lol.
End of the day though, does it really matter? Has nobody here heard, 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'?
