Apple's CEO Tim Cook: No Place for Hate Speech on Apple Product Platforms

You can have capitalism and still have regulations in place. That's like saying you can't have socialist policies in place without going full commies.
Then it’s not capitalism. As soon as government steps in, then it’s no longer a free market, it’s a controlled market, the government then sets the perimeters of what areas are free or not.

In order to see the flaw in your reasoning, apply the same logic to free speech. You can’t say you believe in free speech BUT wouldn’t mind government controlling some type of speech. It means you’re pretty much a leftist and your main difference with a leftist is where the government line should be drawn, in other words, you’re a hypocrite. As for me, I don’t want any government line whatsoever be it in free speech or free market.

How many people in here against regulating these "private, yet public square" domains were for "net neutrality" and other various regulations on private businesses under the Obama administration?

And vise/versa?

Lol nice try comparing trump corrupts FCC trying to give company more unregulated control of bandwith . To giving the power to goverment to force companies to host what they want ? Also i haven't heard from anyone were do draw the line should the goverment not let anyone be ban on neogaf ? Tho im sure no one thought of how any of this would be actually implemented there just triggered that no one wants to pay money hosting there trash.

Instead of assuming one's intent, my comment was to those talking about regulations on the page, etc., not entirely about Tim Cook and his virtue signaling to the first world PR holders.

I already covered my view on Apple/TC and their hypocrisy when it comes to cheek turning for the mighty dollar.

Almost none of the politicians that were against net neutrality would be for regulating these sites.

I define what you just said as hate speech you should be banned and censored, now what?
This entire hate speech strawmen crap has already been abused and missused for years now while the left base like you delibratly and knowingly ignore this because you are hypocrites and are ok with censorhip if it hits conservatives and i mean conservatives and not the "far right literal russian bot nazi" cartoon villain bullshit you push on people to censor them.
Tyler is perfectly allowed to define what is to be censored on his website. There are many things I could say to you that I’m not allowed to say because I would get banned.

In your very brief tenure on the site you've labeled all white people as evil and all conservatives as nazis. Your derogatory, blanket labeling of large groups of people is not going to be tolerated much longer.
i mean conservatives and not the "alt far right literal russian bot nazi" cartoon villain bullshit
There's no difference. And the only reason we're where we are, with a literal fascist occupying the White House, is because conservatism - with all of its coded language and codified policy - has been afforded decades to be a generous and unchecked incubator for the hatred that the alt-right now embodies. We are at the point where conservatism should be treated as a threat to society in the same way the so-called "alt-right" is. They are inseparable.

This entire hate speech strawmen has already been abused and miss used for years meaning the argument is already bullshit not to mention this happened now for years all while the left base deliberately and knowingly ignored this because they are ok with censorhip as long as it hits conservatives and i mean conservatives and not the "alt far right literal russian bot nazi" cartoon villain bullshit and literal LIES they spread and then push on people to censor them.
So there's no way to define hate speech (Ignoring the fact there are) therefore no private company can ban anyone from posting anything on there server and should be required by law to host whatever is basically your argument ?

There is. Personal encouragement of killing a person based on their race, gender etc.

Saying Islam is a fucking piece of shit is not hate speech. Saying Nazis are shit is not hate speech. Hate speech is defined as something encouraging to hurt another person even killing her. Or a straight up call to punch Nazis and inflect Violence on others.,

Free market is just an idealized theoretical version, capitalism is not one and the same as "free markets".

"Although free markets are commonly associated with capitalism within a market economy in contemporary usage and popular culture, free markets have also been advocated by free-market anarchists, market socialists"

"Market economies have existed under many forms of government and in many different times, places and cultures. Modern capitalist societies—marked by a universalization of money-based social relations, a consistently large and system-wide class of workes who must work for wages, and a capitalist class which owns the means of production"

And I don't appreciate calling me an hypocrite.

Under the law, there isn't, that would simply fall under incitement to violence.

Are you fucking serious? You are not the law. You can not decide who deserves physical punishment. You are going after an ideology and if you think that it is ok to call for Nazis to be punched than it is also ok for BLM member to be punched or Feminists etc. Even more so who even decides who is a Nazi and who is not? Today this word has been thrown around like free candy on Halloween

YOU DO NOT CALL FOR VIOLENCE TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is this so hard to understand?

Yet I still browse /pol/ on my IPhoneTM

They are just cracking down on a number of things on the App Store to ensure that their family friendly image is upheld. All about image for the shareholders. Anyone actually thinking Tim Cook gives a fuck about anything but money and maybe Thursday afternoon golf needs a brain transplant.
Doesnt twitter have an ios app? Werent they allowing tweets calling for the murder of an exonerated muslim woman(Asia Bibi?)? Besides all the white hate tweets they seemingly have no problem with.

I'm sure apple will ban the twitter app any day now... Not!

Nazis and BLM are the same thing? A mass protest that affirms black life is as valuable as any other, as a response to the extrajudicial killings of unarmed black people by police with impunity, is the equivalent of mobilizing around a message of racial violence and fascism? Really?

And Nazis, thanks to what their platform constitutes and the language they use, are inherently violent. Their believe in the genocidal removal of non-white people and the establishment of an ethnostate for only white people. Their speech is a direct call to genocidal action. How is punching a Nazi not an act of self-defense? If we were to do as you say, abstain from punching them and allow them to speak and spread their message, what would the logically follow? Wouldn't their support reach a critical mass that made the prosecution of the key tenet within their platform, the eradication of lesser races, a guarantee?

Your random textbook quotes didn’t address what I’m saying. It’s as simple as this, you either want government involved or no government at all. Once you choose the former, it then becomes a question of HOW MUCH government do you want. It makes you lose moral ground because it shows a lack of consistency on your part. You can’t say you want government in ABC but not in XYZ, then complain and scold leftists for wanting government in ABCXYZ. Can you now see the inconsistency?

Then by your definition capitalism doesn't exist because it has never been a free market, regulations have always been in place.

Free speech also has regulations in place, incitement of violence is not allowed.

They're involved in both, I can argue how much I want them involved in either of them.

There have been BLM organizers calling for violence and the murder of cops. Perhaps they are not representative but they should be loudly denounced by the rest of BLM.

The communist ideology the left is embracing has led to the murder of tens of millions. Notice also that the real nazis were the national socialist party of germany. They demonized the successful just like the left has started to demonize white males.

It is funny that not only is nazi thrown at anyone like candy, but even some of the so called nazis try to mistakenly say the holocaust is exaggerated because they consider genocide bad.

At the same time attempted murder with bike locks to the head is celebrated by some of the left which calls for any means necessary.

Police are actively murdering black people and walking away without punishment. Are you saying black people should simply remain silent and allow the criminal justice system, one proven to not take their rights into consideration, to hold these murderers accountable? Is a black protest calling for retaliatory violence against the police the same as a mass of racists converging on a college campus, in angry protest of the possibility a monument celebrating slavery will be removed, and screaming that Jews will not replace them? That's the same thing?

Bell itself was a violation of free markets because it was protected by the government. There CANNOT be a monopoly in a free market, government creates monopoly. It is government regulations e.g. expensive licenses and high taxes that create a high barrier of entry for other companies to enter the market and compete. For crying out loud, you need to get a $2000 license in California to shampoo hair. Without government, there can’t be a monopoly.

There are some unfortunate deaths of young men during interactions with police officers. Some of them are justified. Some of them are not. Don’t conflate the two to make one seem like an an epidemic.

So because some crazy people haven’t killed people and other crazy people have we should not consider them a threat to our society? Fuck Antifa. They are a bunch of human waste. Fuck the Neo-Nazis they too are human waste. But they can say what they want and I support their right to peaceful protest IF they choose to be peaceful.

And if Apple wants to ban politics on their platform I’m ok with that too. But they need to stop sending all political feeds not just the ones they support or they are no better than Russia buying Facebook ads.

And if they are going to be arbiters of non-sin and pro marginalized groups they have a lot of cleaning up to do on iTunes.

A lot of “hate speech” actually has merit and is resonating with a growing number of people. That is why groups like the ADL and their buddies in the media are getting tech companies to crack down on speech. They are going to pull out all the stops to maintain their crumbling liberal order.

And copyright and patent laws.

A new inventor pays thousands to patent lawyers for a single patent but a patent troll brings hundreds of patents that touch on aspects of his invention and start multiple lawsuits if he doesnt give away his invention.

Hate speech has a definition, but it is so broad that it is not helpful at all. If all it takes is a perceived attack/threat to an identity for something to qualify as hate speech, then a variety of seemingly benign opinions could be interpreted as hate speech and that everyone has probably said hateful speech at some point. If you disagree, wouldn't that mean you are deciding what is and isn't hateful based on your own opinions and not what has been defined?

You will have to be specific because I do not recall sneering at any point.

I am interested in learning from you if: a) you can demonstrate that you know what you are talking about, b) don't act like a condescending prick, and c) don't constantly misrepresent arguments. You seem to be attempting to do a but not b or c.
Can't educate someone who bullies others and then turns around and demands to be coddled. Sorry.

It's easy to defend a genocidal maniac's right to free speech when you have the luxury of not being among the groups that their hate is targeting.
Actually there is a ton of "hate" aimed at white males in the media and the Left in general right now. Not that the Left would ever admit it hand waving flagrant racism away with ridiculous "impossible to be racist against those in power" arguments.
Many of us have no such luxury, which is why you see this upsurge of resistance against the far-right.
The racist Alt Left is the reason you are seeing an upsurge of normal centrists and patriots resisting the lunacy that threatens the principles America was founded on - the first and second amendment and the Constitution in general.

With that said most patriots support your right to whine about the patriarchy and to cry about imagined slights. The Right is not fascist or authoritarian but grounded in true Americanism -- the right of any man or woman to speak his or her piece free of government persecution.

You are drawing an equivalency between people who oppose racism and those who support it, groups who welcome the inclusion of minorities and those who seek their liquidation, politicians who sponsor policy aimed towards improving the health of our planet and those whose policy has commandeered the future of mankind and sent it careening off a cliff.
The equivalency is the obvious parallels that can be drawn from the dehumanizing things you've said --techniques very similar to the maniac actions of murderous regimes of the past who used ideology to justify reeducation camps at best, murder of opponents at worst.

Words are just words, if you do not agree you are welcome to fight with your own ideas and words too. The Alt Left however attempts to ban all speech that runs counter to their ideology branding different ideas as hate, mysogyny, racism, trans phobia, islamophobia. Even when those different ideas are nothing of the sort.

One only has to read your initial first post to know where society would lead if individuals sharing your hate were in power.

1 No not the police but single people in the police. Generalizing the police would be like saying all black people are criminals.

2. As for white males? are you serious? I can show you like 200 articles/editorials how these 2 journalists blame white people and especially men.

Take you pick?
Cycling? White male problem
Square dance? White problem
Hiking? White people problem.
drinking tea? White people problem

Back than I posted a twitter thread with over 100 articles written in less than 6 month which blames white people These were just small examples

3,
Left Wing terrorists killed only 23 people in terrorist attacks during this time, about 0.7% of the total number of murders, but 13 since the beginning of 2016. Nationalist and Right Wing terrorists have only killed five since then, including Charlottesville.

Don't worry, I'll continue to school you despite your rather regrettable attitude. It just won't be the hugbox you'd prefer.
Alright, let's do this.

In my experience, professionals who are good at and happy in their jobs don't feel the need to talk down to people outside their profession or use it as a means of bludgeoning them over the head to stroke their own ego. The only people I have observed do this are those who:

a) Aren't very good at their jobs and need to bignote themselves.
b) Are fresh graduates with no experience who also need to bignote themselves.
c) Are unhappy in their jobs and lashing out.
d) Are all of the above.

That you have name-dropped Thomas Kauper as though he magically passed on his intellect and decades of experience to you through immersion indicates that you were likely just a middling student in one of his undergraduate classes or, even more likely, you never even met the man and are as much a lawyer as Charlie Kelly.

Good god man. You asked for credentials and I gave them. Nobody’s interested in your amateur psychoanalysis. Learn to lighten up and eat a shit sandwich bro. You can’t talk a whole bunch of shit then cry when you get some back. It’s not that serious.

PS Kauper didn’t teach undergraduates.

How are white males being demonized? Can you provide examples?
Two quick examples:

I already responded to you in another thread on the Nation of Islam, an openly anti-white group that has been known for racist, anti-semetic, anti-lgbt, and defense of murderers.

Then you had your own post that was openly calling whites the problem of society, despite having no evidence to back that racist claim up.

Last I checked, the only actual murders have been committed by the Nazis. Can you show me a single person who has been murdered by antifa in the past two years? I can list multiple people killed by those with recorded ties to the alt-right.
Quick google searching has brought up these three examples.

Pablo Gomez Jr., 24, is suspected of stabbing one woman to death in Berkeley on Friday and injuring another in a separate incident. He was arrested by police in Burbank on Saturday afternoon.

Mob of extreme leftists chase 4 people, beat them up, attack two of them with a knife because they dared to voice a dissenting political opinion, police investigating attempted murder

Hannover. The events around the Hooligan demo on Saturday at the ZOB have apparently not been as peaceful as previously assumed. As reported by the police, there has been a brutal attack on four members of the assembly by a group of mocked left-wingers after the official end of the HoGeSa event. All four men bore injuries. Two of the four victims, a 42-year-old and a 45-year-old, were obviously beaten, kicked, and possibly injured with a knife or a screwdriver, that they had to be treated immediately in hospitals. In one case, the police even investigate one

No place for apple products in my household. Used to have an ipad but specifically to fly a drone. Now the android app is just as good so I use my phone. Sold that puppy off on ebay. Apple products have fallen behind in capabilities and interface, while costing more than ever before. I banish them to history.

This fits well with my pet theory: intersectionality and common-enemy identity politics is how corporations will domesticate the Left.

Hate Speech by definition does in fact exist.

And given the current social climate of the world today it very much exists all over the world. It not some bullshit obscure thing that "SJWs" made up last year. Its something that has been around for centuries and infests the world to this day and is acknowledged as existing by countries all over the world.

You trying to pretend it doesn't exist is ridiculous even for you.
There is a difference between hate speech and Hate Speech. There is an obscure, bullshit term that has been manufactured in the journals of critical theory and institutionalized by 'SJWs' in recent years.

It's a really nefarious distinction too, because you can couch any speech with privilege to make a Hate Speech claim, and apply the significance and validity of the hate speech definition.

Shitterson just turned down a debate with a fairly well known Marxist because "he finds his ideas offensive"

You should do some research on these grifters before parroting their talking points.
1) Where is the quote "I find his ideas offensive"?

2) Peterson's grasp on Marxism begins at Tolstoy and ends the Gulag Archipelago. What's the value of that debate besides getting some of that door money?

3) Jordan Peterson is hardly on the vanguard of the conversation around deplatforming. Try on Jonathan Haidt for someone to try and make a fool of.
