Are people who whine about console prices a bit ridiculous?

Are people drama queens when it comes to cost?

lol gtfo of here op, most people where I live don't even make 500 dollars a month. Can't afford rent let alone an overpriced console with an even more expensive games catalog. You live in a fairytale world were everyone is an employed first world professional And even if they were 500$ is still a lot of cash for a toy.

where do you live? How do people around you live on less than 500 dollars a month?

I can't take your post seriously

In the grand scheme of things, yes. You're talking about an item which is an absolute luxury. If you're worried that your precious brand new shiny games console costs $50 more than you expected, you aren't really in a position to be worried about money. If you give that much of a shit about saving pennies, or you "just want to play games", there's thousands and thousands of older games you can play for a fraction of the cost. You just want the latest and greatest and you want it now, but you want it cheap.
You know what was the last Luxury Console?
The Neo Geo.

Guess what? There isn't enough people willing to spend Neo Geo money to play high quality console games, to support the console. It doesn't matter that you are willing to pay, you are not going to able to keep the console manufacturer's lights on.

No. As seen in console history $400 is already a high cost for many families, and $600/$700 is too much. $400 is the best launch price for early adopters, and then after some time $200/$250 the sweet spot for mainstream families.

Nowadays to see consoles at $199 or under is pretty difficult, so it would be more difficult or even impossible with a launch price of $700. Many people would never afford them so consoles would flop hard.

The base console must launch at $399, or $499 max. If in addition to that they release a secondary SKU like Pro or X at a higher price, it's ok. But if the entry price point is $600 or $700 the console is dead on arrival:

I think this is some years old, but looking back we can see that to have a competitive sales performance you must keep the console under $500:

I'm not talking about a "luxury console", I'm saying that all gaming in general is a luxury, not a right, not a necessity or even a basic utility. We aren't talking about food and water or gas and electricity here.

Your life isn't going to get worse because you didn't play Halo Infinite on day 1 before the console price got cut.

As usual, oversimplifying a subject like this results in meaningless data.

The only ridiculous attitude is complaining about console price while also complaining about bad graphics.
