I just got my Game Informer as well. The article is fairly long. Other tidbits though.

Seems Aveline and Connor will meet in Liberation
Use front and rear touch controls to pick pocket
Someone else is using the Animus
New weapons include a sugarcane machete, pistols, muskets, grenades

AC PSP had some amazing bullshots when it was announced, cautiously optimistic.
I've only seen this one shot, with her standing on aa roof. But it doesn't seem unapproachable to me. The level of detail drops off quickly beyond the nearest houses, and there aren't a ton of tall buildings that must be rendered from a distance.

My initial reaction to Uncharted on Vita was more disbelief than this shot.

I refuse to believe that screenshot is not a bullshot. The setting of the game looks cool though.

Sounding really promising. Some sneaky pickpocketing with discreet rear touch... like it! Also really interested in the main character, she looks badass. I'm excited for this game.

Looks and sounds great.

I really think the Vita is going to have a strong showing.

Unique additions to franchises like this, and hopefully some crossplay ports like CoD.

Post E3 will be a good time to own a Vita I think.

Assassin's Creed Bloodlines was a game on a handheld that simply was not well suited to bring us a proper AC game.

The Vita is a totally different animal than the PSP. The processing power and the dual analog stick setup already promise that, at the least, AC3: Liberation, will perform better than Bloodlines.

I'm excited about more AC, especially on the Vita. I still have to get and beat Revelations in preparation for AC3.

It's nice to see all of these title confirmations for the Vita, but the constant negativity is annoying as fuck.

Clearly the console is getting game releases. It hasn't even been out a year yet. Give it some time. I can't think of a single gaming console that had this massive, all quality library of games 6 months out of release. Even a year out of release. The Vita is no different, and the games are coming.

I can't wait to see what other announcements are in store next week.

Just seen the scans, it's hard to tell from the blurry scan if the graphics are good. But judging by the screenshot this will be a Assassins Creed like the console versions, open world game.

I can't believe I'm going to buy two Creed games in the same year.
I like the French braided pony tail, subtle.

Curious to see footage in motion at E3. Either way, more titles (not just straight ports) are coming out for vita. the line up is slowly building strength

With scans do you mean shitty pics, or are there actual scans out there?

There are actual scans from GI, it's just the policy preventing people from posting it. Still don't understand that policy AT ALL but hey, you can go look it up on twitter.

There are also pictures of I believe the concept art for the game on the third page of the article.

A pier/harbor with lots of boats and people unloading stuff
A boat that looks like it crashed in the swamps or something.
A building being made with soldiers looking around.

Just saw the scans of the character and screenshot. Looks really good. Better than I expected.

What really bums me out is that it just doesn't seem like the Vita can win. So many people say,

"God, the Vita needs games! I'd be interested if it had games I want to play!"

Games get announced:

"Games look awesome. Too bad it's on the Vita."

You wanted Vita games. Now Vita games are announced. To play them, you will need to buy a Vita. It's like that with any gaming platform. Back in the day, I wanted to play Bioshock, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls IV, and Crackdown. I only owned a PS3. What did I do? I got a 360 (my PC wasn't good enough to run the PC versions).

The Vita is a great machine. The PSP was also a great machine, although it's the popular thing to look at it as this pathetic excuse for a portable gaming device, despite it's pretty awesome library of games, and over 80 million units sold (it's sold more than the 360 and PS3 in total units sold so far).

The Vita is a fantastic follow-up to the PSP. I imagine that a lot of the negativity stems from a lack of actual, lengthy hands on with the Vita and some of it's best games (and some of the many PSP games that look and play much better on the Vita). It doesn't get nearly the love it deserves, and I can't help but wonder if it had a "Nintendo" label on it would people be more receptive to it's qualities (for the record, I think Nintendo's handhelds are also fantastic, I just haven't picked one up yet).

So am I right to assume that this is the Vita game that had the press talking? (I think it was Pachter who mentioned a big game on the Vita being revealed at E3)
This isn't the game. Pachter was talking about an unannounced game but this was announced when the Vita was unveiled as the NGP. It is going to be very cool if this is just the tip of the iceberg for Vita at E3.

Female Assassin? A real AC game? For Vita?

Damn, I really need this. Guess I'm buying a Vita this year.

I'll be waiting for the WiiU release of "III" but I'll pick this up for Vita beforehand. Looks interesting for sure.

Nintendo doesn't get a free pass, just because it's Nintendo. You already forgot the 3DS at 249 and "has no games" period? While it still did better than the Vita is doing now, it obviously wasn't "good" and Nintendo knew that, hence the panick mode. Vita is in the same situation, it needs games and a price cut down the line. This game, Assassin's Creed Liberation is a good start for the Western market and Soul Sacrifice is a good start for Japan. I hope to see more interesting game announcements during E3 for the Vita.

excellent post and i agree mostly but please dont make the mistake thinking vita alone in the "we want games or we want x game for x console" subject...every piece of hardware gets this treatment in the beginning.

Indeed, and wanting more games is fine.

However EVERY single Vita topic on the GAF is filled wtih "lol Vita" "Bomba" "that will be terrible" "no one wants to support the Vita" etc etc posts.

There is a distinct lack of, "The Vita is lacking games right now, but it is still early, here is to hoping for some awesome games down the line, the console definitely has a lot of potential" which is what the actual situation is.

Definitely true. But Vita is the only console in recent memory where certain detractors spoke as if it wasn't going to get any additional games after launch.

Why are people shitting on the studio? Isn't it the people who made that launch 3DS Ghost Recon game GAF was fellating?
Only technical stuff, not actual design.
Stump seems to be confused because everybody believes Julian Gollop was the single creative mind that made Ghost Recon 3DS and Ubisoft just got this little Bulgarian studio on its payroll to do the "tech work." We should squash that misconception. People don't seem to realize that Gollop is part of Ubisoft Sofia, that he didn't email all of his work and commands from some UK studio office (I even saw Gollop's Codo Technologies credited with creating the design of the game when the first GR:SW announcement went out assuming Ubisoft wasn't fully attributing it,) that he has lived in Bulgaria since meeting his wife.

http://www.nowgamer.com/features/1034964/interview_with_xcom_creator_julian_gollop.html

NOWGAMER said:
We were going to ask if we’d ever see another tactical strategy game from you. How did Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars on the 3DS all come about?
Gollop: I started working as a game designer at Ubisoft in Sofia in November 2006. I quickly became a producer, then sometime in late 2007 I pitched the idea of doing an X-COM-style game using one of Ubisoft’s franchises.

They said they had a Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon game due out that year so I said, ‘Okay, we’ll do a ‘Ghost Recon Tactics’.’ It was originally going to be for the DS, but last year we decided to try and get it approved for the new Nintendo handheld, which we didn’t know much about at the time.
So, I'm not sure who this other studio is that should be credited with being the brains behind harnessing all this "tech work" by Ubisoft Sofia, but unless there's some other factor in play, that team should be credited with all of the creation of Ghost Recon: Shadow War.

go to the pre mario 3ds threads if you wanna see the same exact thing.
i dont like seeing bomba, doomed etc etc for any console (besides the obvious Joke/sarcastic posts), I enjoy them all, but its just unrealistic and just plain not true if you think Vita alone in this.

look at the wii-u its already starting there with "NO SUPPORT FROM DEVS, NO UE4, ".... my only point was everyone gets this.

Cautiously optimistic about a new portable AC game. The last few were just terrible but I'm hoping this can play more like the console games since it's on the Vita. I wonder if we'll get some PS3/Vita crossover between the main game and this one.

EDIT: not sure how I got in this thread, lol!

UE4 Details seem like they are trying to streamline the process of making games while also increasing performance and graphics. That's good to hear.

Edit 2: It appears my post is in 2 threads simultaneously weird. Anyway! Nice to see Vita getting it's own AC entry and if the screen of the female assassin on the roof is in game then this is going to be awesome.

It's nice that the Assassin's Creed game is a reality, instead of just something that was promised and then never materialized, which was sometimes the case with some bigger PSP announcements (like the RE game for instance)

The heroine looks pretty cool, leagues more interesting than the typical hooded figure AC is known for

The screenshot is so obviously a bullshot. Hopefully they show off the game at the Ubi conference.
