That's incredibly misleading. It didn't launch as AO. It only became that for a short time when they discovered Hot Coffee was still in the code. Rockstar never would have purposefully launch an AO game and they did what was needed to get rid of that tag ASAP.

They also never released a product with AO stamped on the box (though supposedly the company issued stickers in the meantime?), they just modified the code and replaced the product with the only version they ever intended to be on the market.

It could be that Xbox.com has an auto-trigger for "Real Gambling" which turns things AO automatically in the system. Or it could be that the game is under rating review but MS got the old data. Or it could be, as makes the most sense to most of us, this was just a screw-up on the part of whoever entered the data in and flagged the wrong rating over the weekend.

"real gambling" as an ESRB rating means you can buy in-game currency and lose that currency in in-game minigames.
this means Mirage will have gambling minigames, and it also will have purchasable currency just like the last 3 or 4 games in the series had

That shit should be made AO too, most likely it is part of a plan between these corporations to introduce young people into gambling, then get them as adults later... sounds paranoic but we know for a fact that big corps often collude to squeeze the masses.

Why? The possibility of there being loot style monetization in an AC game is well within the realm of possibility. The only thing unbelievable, if I'm being honest, was that the ESRB would ever deal with predatory tactics appropriately.
