Is next week the start of a new trial? Hope they fix the graphics by then.
Me too. I'm not a huge graphics person, but the downgrade they did is just too jarring for me. Even going back to playing Elex, the pop-in/draw distance is nowhere near as bad as AC:O now, not even close.

It seems so weird too. I re-installed it from disc and re-downloaded patch 1.04 and it seems to have removed some of it, but it's still there. Now it seems like if Bayek is in the center of a pie let's say, one large slice of it sometimes will have super low quality detail on the whole portion, outside of the 30 feet "pretty" bubble. I've seen it where some trees that are further away are fully rendered and some that are close are bitmaps.

It's just really whacky, and hard to play when it's doing that sort of crap at random intervals. I guess if you were in tombs all of the time this would be fine, but it's Assassin's Creed and you're climbing and looking across long distances. Chopping the LOD/draw distance was probably the one thing they shouldn't have compromised on in this patch.

Beat this after spending most of yesterday beating the last two or three legs of the main quest. Got to the point where the story kept going and it kept wanting me to level up by doing more side quests that I just said the heck with it and struggled through the rest of the final part severely underleveled.

Very frustrating and kinda tainted some of the cool locations. Overall, still had a ton of fun.

Probably won't be going back to the game until the codex and database stuff gets added. It really is a sticking point for me, still. For example, there's a potion later in the game with an aqueduct and you have to talk to a guy. Would have been nice to get a blurb like un Unity or BF where they tell you who this dude is, is he real? Or what the deal with the aqueduct is? This bugged me every time I came across something I wanted to know more about; the arenas, canals, ecosystem, statues, etc.

Thats it? They did something to the lighting and texture detail, I seriously doubt it was a bug.

And all the texture pop ins can't be just a "bug", they just need to own it and say we downgraded the graphics for whatever reason.

The Arena is fun but gating the boss battles with the 3 other mook battles with the kind of loading times this entails kills my desire to go any further with that part of the game.

Just started the game. It runs well for me (60fps+) on Ultra with some minor tweaks.

That said, anyone else having trouble with the cut scenes being jumpy and skippy while the rest of the game runs well?

I've played and beat every AC game and I have to hand it to them, this one definitely feels different in tone and gameplay. I haven't quite gotten used to the bumpers and triggers for attacking but everything else seems nice and refined. I'm still not a fan of the Spider-man climbing and wish it was nerfed and difficult like the original games but I guess that's just what the series has turned into.

Anyone else getting the ambient music bug..? They added a setting which does nothing and now ambient music kicks in at weird times or not at all. Was perfect before the patches :(

^^ So basically what they've done is patch in bugs and make the game worse since launch, smh. For once they release a game that isn't meme worthy at launch, only to do this right after anyway ... -_-.

Switched over the alternate control scheme and it's way better. More intuitive and improves the gameplay experience. Highly recommended. Especially if you're used to past AC games.

Is this for all versions, including pc?
100% confirmed by me and others on PS4/PS4 Pro. I'm using a PS4 Pro for reference with 4k/HDR.

Confirmed by a couple of people that I've seen on the Ubisoft forums that this is occurring on an Xbox 1 X. I haven't seen a lot of other instances of Xbox 1 players talking about having issues themselves but it seems to be confirmed nonetheless.

Last I heard they're holding patch 1.04 for PC.

Latest update would be from RPGCrazied's post about the tweet from Ashraf.

Beat the game in under 30 hours, went through two rounds of gathering side quests just so I can quickly level up and stand a chance in the main quests (you can take them on head on but good luck). I’ll probably go back to this game of the year contender once you can binge the DLC.

I've dropped in 67 hours and I'm only at 60% complete.

I'm taking my time though and doing all sidequests and markers along my way. Been spending a lot of time doing the side stuff since I'm near the end of the main story (I assume, last target, etc).

Doing the arena made me really really find some faults with the games combat and how annoying it can be. Some sucked with lock on, others lock on made 100% easier (spear), also screw getting locked into 4+ hit combo's that you can't block or dodge out of.

Well Bayek already slides around like he's on roller skates anyway. Combat may be more challenging now but boy does it look unnatural and silly. Visually speaking, the older games' combat was much much better.
You're correct. The combat was much better to look at.

But the development team went for making combat tactically better this time around, which they did. imo the combat may look more janky, but it's much more enjoyable to play.

If they could retain the challenge but implement the visual smoothness and flow of the older combat they'd have a really good balance. Too many enemies in AC:O just get hit with a basic slash and ragdoll over. Putting enemies down to a certain health, a back attack, or a skilled parry should put them into a vulnerable state and allow for a killing blow like the old counters/combo kills at the player's discretion (with parrying kills being like a fancier Demons/Dark Souls parry execution). I feel you should be able to kill everyone with a fancy stylish kill as long as you can pull off the skills to do it.

They said on Twitter that it would be. (Hope so - I waited until I got my Xbox One X to start playing, so I couldn't hit the necessary level by the time the trial ended.)

Is any of the DLC for pre-ordering/ Deluxe/ CE actually available?
All I see is coming soon.
Do you mean available for separate purchase, or available for people who have the codes to redeem? The preorder/Deluxe stuff is available for download, at least on Xbox. (Although the preorder DLC is disabled due to a game-breaking bug.)

Getting Black Flag soon in the mail, I think today. I heard its the best AC game by a ton of people. Lets see if it can pass Origins for me. Will be tough.
Black Flag was my favorite also, but it can't match Origins imo. Just the variety of locations alone is so much better; BF was great if all you wanted was naval combat, it's got Origins beat there, but everything else was just so much better. I almost want to call it the most beautiful and alive open world game I've ever played; it's up there with Horizon for sure.

This game is sublime. I have played all of the assassin's creed games to one degree or another and for me, this is the best so far.

I am thinking it is on my game of the year list right next to Horizon.

PS4Pro, I got 2 codes
One for Deluxe Content and another for the Season Pass.
I've just restored my licenses and they've appeared now for download, it's just Pre-order DLC I'm missing now.
Really wanted to know those secrets too.
They need to fix the paper mashi textures they introduced in the 1.03 update too, got was sharp as clean before. Shame DF used that for the comparison.

Sounds like a great patch, but I'm not expecting 1.02 levels of graphics on PS4. We might get terrain distance back, but thats probably it.

I just started black flag and having a blast. Runs like a dream on PS4.

Loved the game, and story, up until the 30's. Then the story just kinda falls the hell apart and gets so disjointed it's dumb. I like the "Observer" shit but you can go through the entire story without ever encountering anything other than the first one, that was COMPLETELY randomly thrown in with a boss battle. The other one I found, the game never even takes you to the zone during normal play.

If I go back after the story to the bureau, will it tie in at all? Cause right now I have ZERO reason to play after the story is finished.

I don't know what I expected. My expectations were in check and pretty low and they still managed to disappoint.

Many people are reporting the same issues still happening which I just confirmed myself.

They should remove the predator bow from the game for their own sake.

I just spent some time to inspect the patch myzslf and i do see slight improvement.
-> Draw-distance seems wider
-> Better LOD shadows detail
-> Slightly less pop-in
However...
-> still not patch 1.02 level
-> still pop-in (why the fuck no fade-in?)
-> still inconsistent LOD shadow detail

All in all i can at least play again now, but for fucks sake Ubi, please just roll back to 1.02, add HDR and all Bufixes, call it 1.06 or 1.1 or whatever and we will forgive and forget.

Same here. I've already played this game 20 hours and it hasn't even been out three weeks yet. I get that some people have way more time to put into games, but I don't.

Oh well. I've just hit level 30 and I'm so far still enjoying the game so I'll try and let it slide and (perhaps) be ready for the next one.

Feeling the same, still level 25 so no chance for event. I think I saw on a Facebook post that it will be back in the future though.
