So they had excess stock of those particular items. Did they severely overestimate the 'liquids you rub on your skin' and 'extreme low-end camera enthusiast' markets?
Possible. I'm not too sure why on earth they would try and sell these types of cameras though because they are just that shit. It's something you would buy in the reject shop because it was released 5 years ago. It's so awesome :lol

So guys, out of morbid curiosity, is there any word of Deadly Premonition ever coming out in Europe/Straya?

It looks so bad I think I might actually enjoy it

Dear god. I so just registered on that site and bought 3 copies of Mirror's Edge. At 10 dollars each I just couldn't resist (I already own a copy and have got all achievements).

I may be clinically insane.

Three? Why three?

Also if that's the case, You could very well be fucked if valve manage to bring a lot of games to the mac. I can see you buying every game under $10 :lol

Which begs the question. Will our fellow mac users be joining us on steam when it's released? Or do we need a new group for your dirty mac users :D

In 30 years time they might be worth $15 each!

There are a lot of advantages to this steam / mac thing that I still haven't thought of. I really don't know anything about the platform. The first time I ever loaded steam was way back when it was first released and I never understood the point of having an app to launch an app. That was the last time I used it, and now I have to educate myself on what it does.

So, you have something like an IRC chat room in there that you guys go on? I'm looking forward to using steam. I believe it will revolutionise mac gaming.

Just wondering if anyone has bought from Fishpond before...

I am really tempted into buying 3000 MS Points for $39.99, but I don't want to get charged $5.99 for the shipping of the card itself. D:

Do they deduct the shipping costs and email the code? (Also, I applied a -$10 coupon too, so I guess $30 for 3000 MS Points is... worth it?) :D
BanShunsaku said:
I remember someone on here had a bad experience preordering from fishpond, but I wouldn't know about buying points. Maybe email them and ask how they process code orders.

Let us know how you go, fishpond seems good in theory but I haven't heard much feedback about them to be honest
That was me. I can't be certain, but I suspect they cancelled my order because I used the coupon code "ecogamer" to get $10 off the order. I've read reports that they inexplicably cancelled other people's orders (for other things) if they used a code that, according to Fishpond, was not valid for their order.

OK, so if I used a coupon code that wasn't applicable, fair enough. It's their own fault their system wasn't designed to reject coupon codes that weren't eligible so that the customers know before ordering. It's just bad service to wait until a day after the estimated ship date to say "Oh hey, we've cancelled your order and we'll just throw in whatever template excuse we have."

Kirby102 said:
edit: I also got a reply from Fishpond... someone please help verify this too? (Haven't bought points cards ever so yeah...)
I think that really goes to show how much their staff even know about what the hell they're selling. "Oh, point cards, I wonder how that works. Duuuuh."

Until you start playing it, and get angry like i think most of GAF will.
Well the game certainly will split the opinions of it's audience. I have the same complaints as most people have about the game's flaws, but despite that, I still enjoyed the game a lot.

I finished the game at 53 hours, I've now clocked in over 60 hours trying to complete the trophies. I wasn't going to get the English version since I'm never going to play it in English, but I couldn't resist the CE being under $100 from Zavvi. :lol D:

I hate CEs coz I'm such a sucker for them.

I really need to start up a business that sells bags of crap in Canada.

From what it looks like, I could buy a couple hundred dollars worth of product from DX, FocalPrice, etc. and then make a fortune off of it!

Someone would probably end up suing you because they wanted a real bag of crap and you didn't deliver.

About to pop the Heavy Rain disc into my PS3.

I've done well to completely avoid spoilers, however, I really wish I didn't listen to the latest Idle Thumbs Podcast last night...

Nah this is Canada, not the U.S.

You can't sue someone for looking at you the wrong way here like you can down south, lol

more importantly will I be able to use the same steam account on both my mac and PC?
I'm pretty sure there are some kiwis in here - recommend me some sweet (couple friendly) things to do/see! Heading to Rotorua, Napier then ferry to south island, will have a car and 2 weeks on the south island. I've been plenty of times (half Kiwi) but it'll be my gf's first trip there. EDIT: itll be my first non-snow-related trip in 6 years

Gaming related:
I played MW2 until 5am on Sunday night, I felt like a 15 year old at a sleepover. Except instead of friends I had potato chips and coke.

I am all up for some ausgaf steam love.

Will be downloading steam as soon as it launches - i tried to get it the other day through some backdoor way - didnt work.

How much are all the current valve games on steam?? Is there a way to get US prices instead of AUS?

I have the basic current mac book pro - what will i need to get myself all set up for orange box. I am guessing some sort of mouse - as it will be crazy to play with the trackpad.

Not only the same account, but the same Steam cloud game saves. Read all the stuff about it: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/03/steam-mac/#ixzz0hbyEqCEs

http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/Valve/

We get Valve stuff at US prices anyway. You won't have to worry about regional pricing until some of the other bigger publishers start releasing Mac versions.

thanks for the link! That is amazing - if only my macbook pro battery lasted mor than 15 minutes. Can't wait till I can afford to update.

I played a few minutes of the demo of Heavy Rain, that's all I've seen of it... didn't find it particularly engaging but I didn't give it much of a chance

Heavy Rain was... wasted potential.

It wasn't a total trainwreck, don't get me wrong, but it isn't an essential play or anything like that.

ahh k, good to hear. I don't like to miss out, and I've decided the only full price game I'll buy for the rest of the year is Skate 3 in May. Unless of course I fall into a pile of money or something SODAMNGOOD comes out at Christmas time. I spend most of my gaming time with Trials HD, MW2 and iPhone peggle anyway, no room for outsiders!

I played for 45 min last night, not really feeling it yet. I heard the start is really slow, but that's not really the issue I had with it. The tank controls were more annoying than I thought, but that's still OK.

My biggest issue is how rough the game and engine feels. Textures popping, disjointed animations, screen tearing, and perhaps most annoyingly, there is also skipping of both frames and music sometimes when the game presumably loads something based on the actions you just did.

It feels really jarring and unpolished playing it immediately after FFXIII, where they seemed to have obsessed over making the presentation absolutely flawless.

I'm not quite sure what they were thinking when they cast Vanille as a ditzy bogan though :lol

I'd certainly disagree, and if there was a way to reward the developers more than buying the game new I'd do it. Its probably the console game this gen that's impressed me most, despite its flaws.

It seems like you guys are getting these in waves.

First some sunscreen, then a ton of lotion, then crappy camera/camcorder, and now two of you got megablocks on the same day!

The items range from good, to bad, to horrible, to better than good.

So if you do the math, people should start getting crap again, and then someone will get a ps3.

Bag of crap + ??? = profit

SUPER IMPORTANT REMINDER REMINDING YOU!!!!

That at 7:15 The Daily Show is on ABC2, followed by the Colbert Report! Good time to cancel your foxtel sub too. What a waste of money, and can you afford it in this economy? Hmm?!

Id say watch scrapheap challenge too, but the new format with the last series has ruined that show >_< Stupid dicks diamonds or whatever...

Also I have had numerous glitches, freezes and just cut to blacks during the game, on an almost new slim 250GB model with no problems in any other game.

There is a section of the game where you are looking for someone in a crowd (Trying to be vague here) and it was literally impossible, like I saw the character model of the person standing there and I could just walk through it, put my arm through the models face, etc... it was terrible.

Also the game falls apart on a second run through. EB Games is doing like 68 bucks trade in before Friday, I think I'm going to trade it in for the first time since I was 15 :(

Mega Bloks FTW!

And wow at Q and A last night. I don't know (or care) what people's philosophical beliefs here might be, but none of the politicians who went up against Dawkins came away looking like they were in good shape. Tony Burke did well to earn my respect early on in the piece, but once he lost his cool he also lost my attention.
