Eidos is the publisher for just cause but they dont own the studio last I checked. Its owned by a Nordic film board. I doubt they were sold or this is anything exclusive.

I've been so disappointed with Avalanches output as of late. Mad Max and Just Cause was mediocre at best. Mad Max in particular felt like a chore, checking off boxes in a boring world with nothing even remotely resembling fun. Avalanche feels like a studio in decline.

Mad Max was their only good game this gen, I wouldn't mind playing a sequel. Just don't get rid of Max in favor of Furiosa or some other female character. ;)

Or they are looking for someone to work on the Xbox version of a multi platform game.

considering there’s no such thing as a true “Xbox exclusive” that makes much more sense IMO.

The more I think about, the more I see similarities between Ghost of Tsushima, Breath of the Wild and Mad Max, it has this seemingly static world but if you start actually studying it and really looking you can get such a stong sense of immersion and place from it. I think thats a part of its mojo, that and how fucking fun it is to ram the shit out of other cars and see those top tier explosion/fire effects. Its also has good emergent gameplay from its AI and elemental systems working together, similar to Just Cause and Far Cry.

I watched this video, has the one you posted got new stuff in it?:

Ghost of Tsushima comparison is actually really good one, when I am thinking about it. But GoT does not have that cool (for me) post apocalyptic aesthetic. I am not much into Japanese culture.

Interesting. It's apparently not Electron-based, so it's not a bloated piece of shit like VS Code, Atom and similar.

Tbh, I genuinely expected someone to come in here and talk about Emacs and/or Vim, lol.

A multi-plat dev needs Xbox and PlayStation experts.

The lack of a listing for a PlayStation expert could simply mean they already have those jobs fully staffed, and are lacking in the Xbox area.

Mad Max
Just Cause 3
Just Cause 4
Rage 2

All great games. Would love more on PS5.

Really want a Mad Max 2.

Me too, I put 130 hours into Mad Max.

I couldn't get into JC4 for a year or more but I went back and changed my graphics settings around and it stopped being a fizzy mess, I enjoyed my time with it in the end, not quite as much as JC3 overall though. I missed the challenges and wing suit courses, the replacements were not really as good 90% of the time, especially the wing suit rings.

Avalanche is a very talented dev, but for fcks sake what has happened after MM? All of their games excel in gameplay, graphics and world but fuck me, the writing (outside Rage 2 DLC w/o Bethesda) is woke AF.
