Awesome gaming soundtracks that NO ONE'S heard of.

If anyone likes Fire Emblem music, you'll love this:

Only problem with the actual OST is that it lacks looping :/

Or at least not very well known.

I was just playing Dinosaur King on the DS and thought the music was pretty cool, then I thought about Jurassic Park 2 The Chaos Continues on the SNES. Man, the soundtrack was amazing in that game, yet no one ever talks about it. How about we do a thread for soundtracks nobody's heard of? That mean NO FINAL FANTASY, DRAGON QUEST, CASTLEVANIA, or other big name games. We're talking about games nobody's heard of, or never would have thought it would contain a great soundtrack.

Here's a sample for the Jungle Theme in JP2. This is track alone if over 5 minutes long.

Holy Shit!!! I had forgotten about this game. I LOVED the music of this level, i would start it and then leave it so i can listen to the music. I also remember that the game had generally awesome sound, and it displayed a fancy dolby logo in the intro. Thanks OP!

Need more sid's.

Times of Lore - Title music
Or rather, one version of it because the part six minutes in is done with a randomizer. Apparently it took Martin Galway 20 days to do this tune because of that. A lot of work considering, being a title tune, not every one would leave it running long enough to hear the random parts or as often enough to realize it was different every time.

Tetris
A massive 25 minutes (!) tune, perfect for long play sessions.

Marauder - ingame

I second any mention of the Killer7 soundtrack.

I'd also say XIII has a great soundtrack, not for particular tracks but for the overall atmosphere and mood it created. Another Code and Contact on DS also deserve praise.

Gremlin's Mask III: Venom Strikes Back, for the MSX Computer.

8 bit music baby.. Nothing can surpass good 8 bit music.

Edit: and i'm talking about the MSX version, as it sounds on that video. Don't even bring up the spectrum version.

Edit2: That video is a little faster than i remember. It's still a great tune.

The Too Human soundtrack is extremely good. But I doubt most people wanted to either play the game or play enough to hear most of it:

E.V.O the search for eden, a really awesome Enix platformer/action-rpg.

The soundtrack was composed by Koichi Sugiyama of Dragon Quest fame and the first underwater track is absolutely haunting. I played the game when I was very young and that track was still stuck in my head 15 years later, prompting me to rediscover the game itself.

Hard one to beat.

Skip to 1:30 for the epic main theme!

4:01 for the amazing underwater track.

I remember this game. I bought it just because it had dinosaurs in it. Didn't regret it. Still, I'm actually a little disappointed by the music when I found out who did the soundtrack. I mean, some of them are just so short and repetitive that lasts maybe 3 seconds. The underwater track is awesome and so is the main theme.

ctrl+f "Opoona": Not Found.

Let me start off by saying that I rarely listen to videogame soundtracks. Whether it's that I'm just plain sick of hearing the same thing I've been listening to for the last 45 hours, or that I don't particularly care to listen to something that's usually far too repetitious, VG music often escapes me. Opoona's sountrack, on the other hand, is different. While it has a central motif that is often repeated throughout the songs, it's carefully crafted "futuristic jazz" soundtrack stands out as just plain good music.

Even though I have no problem conceding to the core game's problems and outright mediocrity, Opoona remains a visually stunning game with an outstanding soundtrack produced by Basiscape (Hitoshi Sakimoto & co.). Since the title is drifting into obscurity, probably sold less than 20,000 copies, and doesn't have much of a following, it understandably has no official soundtrack release at this time. For this reason, I suggest you download the entirety of the fanripped soundtrack (here) and give it a listen. Of course, you'll probably want to hear a few songs first, which is why NeoGAF has a "hyperlink" button:

Fontene theme
Outside Artelia Dome
Concert Hall
Rosa

You can hear the majority of the soundtrack in that person's YouTube account, so give it a whirl. Download the .zips if you want to hear it the many outstanding tracks he skipped over, as there's over 80 songs (and alternate versions, sound effects, etc.) in total. Without a doubt, one of the few gaming soundtracks I would buy in a minute if I could.

Okami has the best overall soundtrack in video game history for me. Mostly composed by Masami Ueda of Resident Evil fame. I didn't have any expectations for the music in the game, but track after track after track I was blown away. If Ueda composes a couple more game soundtracks that is more musical rather than atmospheric like many of those in Resident Evil, Ueda may just be my favorite game composer period.

I'm surprised no one else named Okami, or did I miss the post?

Some honorable mentions include:
  • Rogue Galaxy
  • Shadow Hearts series
  • Ico
  • Ace Combat Zero
