Couldn't agree more

You can't honestly expect Batman to keep up with superpowered criminals and other superheroes being slow down by all those muscles could you?:p

I always throught the perfect Batman body would be like what Hugh Jackman/Chris Evan's body is like in their movie.

Tall, muscular but lean. Showing great agility and strength.

Have any of you been able to get a wallpaper of Batman gliding without the Batmobile? Its one of the media pics but I can't get it to download off the official site. Need that wallpaperrrrrrr.

Pretty disappointed with this announcement, it was obvious, sure, but I was really hoping to see Rocksteady try something else for a change. :/

Loved Arkham Asylum, but going through City I felt kinda done with the Arkham series, more feels unnecessary, and Rocksteady itself is a promising studio, but oh well...

Trailer was nice, but as we all know by now, they CG means nothing.

My best friend is going to be so mad that this is Next-Gen only. Lol

He still has a PS3. Maybe this will finally convinced him to buy one.

Anyone predicting a PS4 Batman Arkham Knight bundle?

I feel like such a miserable sod for not being more interested in this. I just have no interest in more of the same, and I need to see gameplay footage before I can get hyped. If it's just Arkham City+ (complete with a reason for no pedestrians!) I don't really have any enthusiasm. Arkham Asylum was my favourite, and that's because of the tight, dense structure and Metroidvania feel to the environment and progression.

I was born on the 6th, so I'm just gonna go and assume the 7th is correct.

Because, reasons.

Gamestop already changed it to 14th on their site. But I noticed that other retailers use an other image with coming in 2014. Could be, that it is just a preliminary date.

Totally. It's the first thing that hit me when I saw him move in the trailer. I think it was the right design call.

EDIT: Assuming that's how he looks in-game. As bigboss370 points out below, this could very well be the CGI design an not the in-game design :/

Then what would he have said it in? A tape recorder? That was more or less something I expected Thomas Wayne to write in his will.

Maybe not the entire will. But a part of it.

Not the format, the context of what he said. It doesn't sound like something Thomas Wayne from the comic books would write. In my opinion, being a batman fan.

Trailer was dope. 2014 release date is dope. BUT:

this don't got me hyped :(

The batsuit looked way cooler in the trailer, as did the aesthetics and style of the game. Batman looked thinner in the trailer which was a cooler look. And these graphics (from this one image) don't look a step above previous entries...and the city looks drab/uninspired too.

Better late than never with the batmobile i guess, but they have their workout cut out for them to make it better than the batmobile in the batman begins game. (that was done by burnout devs iirc)

Will wait to see gameplay, but so far i am no so hyped...

oh you could definitely tell they were trying to go with Superman vibes there, with Jor-El giving Superman his last words.

So is this a different time lien to the previous rocksteady games, or is it set after Arkham City?

Seriously though there going to have to change up the gameplay mechanics, they cant keep it the same for the 4th game in a row

Please no... no morality system, no multiple endings, etc. I want a single well written story from start to finish, not a story that is piece meal because you could be good, or bad, and they have to make every answer as neutral as possible to fit as many situations as possible.

(edit) Nice on that October release date... makes me really wonder why the hell we haven't seen any in-game footage yet though.

I meant as something that has gameplay consequences. So if they have a similar leveling up system to city, say your in a chase, if you use lethal methods to deal with a cop car, you'd lose XP (being batman and all), while something non-lethal like dropping spikes to blow their tires gives you a little extra. Police would treat your differently in the game depending on how you treat them plus plus added perks (lethal methods would get them to be more hostile towards you). I don't know, I'm sure rocksteady could think of something much better in their 3 years of development. If they were just there for the sake of having more variety in punching bags, it's a bit pointless.

Why does she go from looking like a nurse hoo-wah to a biker chick hoo-wah, and back to a nurse hoo-wah?

we need to go deeper (hehe)--->

She really looks like a pornstar, but I can't for the life of me pinpoint which one.

Lol, I think you're on to something there.

Research and design during those long dark nights at rocksteady must've been interesting for this character.

I gotta wonder how Rocksteady feels about Origins.

I mean, I'm in for this, but it feels so awkward and soon. Origins feels pointless now as this reveal would have been much more hype inducing if there wasn't anything in between. I mean shit they JUST announced origins DLC.

franchise fatigue is a real thing for a lot of people and I can't think they're happy about that

This sums up my reaction.
A CGI trailer says nothing about the game and I don't care if I can drive a car in a city, that was novel in 2001. The open world stuff only made this series worse.

Nothing about these games looks like Nolan's style.

As hard as it may be to believe, Nolan doesn't have the monopoly on gritty.

This game unequivocally borrows from Nolan's films. Their batmobile looks AND sounds extremely similar to the Tumblr, his armor is much more similar, their Two-face in this trailer looks much more like the burned Two-face of Dark Knight then the one from Arkham City. Even the cinematography and use of anamorphic bokeh in the trailer is very evocative of Pfister's cinematography and lens choice from the films. The music since Arkham Asylum has actually been pretty similar to Zimmer's score at times (and this trailer is no different). The opening of the trailer is practically Bane speaking to Gotham and the population trying to escape the city from TDKR.

So how long was this in development? Seems like a short turn around since Arkham origins was last year and since this franchise is becoming annual.

I know RS didn't do Origins but Arkham City was only two years ago, right?

Yep, I already feel kind of burnt out by it, and I didn't even play Origins.... Just seems like too much too quickly

I mean if you are a man who is a multi-millionaire and also a philatrophist.

And you're leaving your son behind. I think you would mention somewhere in your will that you should not waste money. Instead help those in the city that cannot help themselves. Just like I did. That you're destined for great things.

I mean growing up, I wasn't rich, and even my parents reminded me everyday not to waste money.

I mean what are you going to say in a will if not that? "Hey sorry we died... We left you tons of money. And a Butler! Later Bruce!"

Really disappointed we're seeing Harley again. Ugh.

Then again, this is their 'series finale'. Origins was a stopgap that told a better story than Asylum/City.

That said, it's interesting that Scarecrow seems to be the main villain in this one. Thank God the Joker is dead. He was used to great effect in Origins, but I'm done with his character after that one.

Sefton Hill, Rocksteady: "[Refresh the game] is what we're always trying to do, is that every game feels like a new game rather than another episode of the previous game"

If that doesn't make sense to you, I'll translate.

"Fuck you, WB Montreal".
