So rocksteady is developing the as well, but they're background team/producers.
Good. I have faith. but they only ported batman to the wii-u last year and it wasn't that great. So I have my doubts about this team and expect lots of rocksteady staff to forced to help complete it in a timely fashion.
I never put JC2 in my veins, so I can't comment on the claw. That said, this just sounds like another unnecessary prequel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like a chunk of this game will take place in the old AC map, and it's likely only Christmas so that WB can take advantage of that snow tech from AC. And then the combat, movement, and mission structure will likely be the same as always.
I'm sure the game will be solid, but it still seems like a blatant cash-grab.
im interested, hope its more AA than AC. AA just a tighter package imo. it really started to bug me in AC all the overdone audios and watnot, gangs talking and you can hear them half a mile away? ok. note to all gamemakers can we have some subtlety and quiet once in a while pls.
Old Gotham is only half of the game world
- Another new entire area is across the bridge called New Gotham
- New Gotham is classier and has much taller skyscrapers
- New zone doubles the size of the game world
No original developer and a handheld spin-off on the side? That usually isn't a winning combination for GotY material.
On the bright side, the details sound pretty good (except maybe the Batwing...please don't be on-rails or something). And I'm glad they kept it open world. I love Metroid, but Arkham City's scope is much more fitting for Batman. Not too confident this will top City though.
