Looks like some amateur render in Maya.

1up links never work for me for some reason :(. So what is this Battle: Los Angeles business?

Likely shitty fps based on the likely shitty science-fiction action movie starring Harvey Dent of the same name. Notable for apparently having its alien designs stolen by the visual effects team behind Skyline, which just so happened to be directed by the owners of that team. A shame too, since these designs are clearly original. It's also notable for being the world's first confirmation of Resistance 3, as a billboard during shooting was caught advertising the game.

Played It and its actually not that bad, and for a XBLA only release its perfect.

played the Xbox live trial and i found entertaining with decent gameplay mechanics.

its 800 MS points so its reasonable, im happy the developers knew they couldn't release this at full retail price ($60) but at only $12 it might actually be worth it if it clocks around 4 hours.

contemplating atm.

Hmmm.

Is it just a single player run and gun?

I found the game to be comedically bad. I played the demo and I was pretty much in awe the entire time.

The "motion comic" cutscene style is hilariously out of place and incredibly flat, often times clearly traced from select promotional stills from the movie.

Cutscene subtitles use Comic-sans.

Half of the game's dialog sounds like it was recorded in somebody's echo-y basement with a $2 mic.

In general, the game's sound design is mediocre at best. Aliens sound like animal growls run through a generic "alien" flange filter. Guns lack punch and were licensed from some of the most budget sound packs available (keep your ears open and you can hear sfx from Doom 2 and Quake 1 peppered around in the ambient sounds).

The actual shooting will put you to sleep. Aliens don't do anything interesting but act exactly like boilerplate enemy human soldiers would. There is no way to tell when you're actually hitting an alien with anything because they do not react to being shot.

There is zero character or personality to anything. You are lead by the nose from identical encounter to identical encounter and if you feel like it you can just ignore your squad mates and go wander off. None of them die or will ever kill an alien.

The only potentially impressive bit is the implementation of "Havok Destruction" physics, but after the Bad Company games that's not really very special.

I livestreamed the demo earlier today. It was good for a laugh because of how truly abysmal it is, but I hope nobody actually thinks of buying it.

Does it have online co-op?

Maybe I'm asking too much. xD

no i thinks its only SP not multiplayer.

obviously you can pick so many things to dislike about the game but for a XBLA game for $10-$12 its serviceable, nobody was going to care about the cut-scenes anyways as they come off as a bit to plain.

Clicked through to the article. Once a pop-up complete with a video from Jackass 3D was finished rolling, 1UP wanted me to click through 7 pages to get the screens.

Never again.

No, like seriously.

On normal I finished the campaign in like, 45 minutes of actual playtime. No joke.

I know it's only ten dollars, but... COME ON.

Cutscenes are magic, though. MAGIC.

I don't doubt they gave them 9 months to make this.

Some famous designer once said that for any studio to make anything out of a licensed game at all it is an achievement greater than making a hit original IP.

It's only 10 at night, I still have time. Maybe going to try streaming this on livestream.

This game is on XBLA as of today, and it's really really really bad.
The trial is very short, yet it's still too long. You will delete it as soon as you quit, I guarantee you.

Considering the only thing I've gotten from the commercials is that it has explosions in it, I can see this being a good movie to make into a game.

I wonder if the aliens have heads made of bread or potatoes...

Edit: Wow, the running speed looks really slow.

Possibly the least threatening Alien design I've ever seen in my life.

Leave it to Hollywood to fail the very first rule when making an alien invasion film.

Edit - Lol. People weren't kidding when they said the sound was recorded in a basement.

thanks for playing my ass

Apparently Hollywood Mode is a big head mode or something? Double physics probably just makes everything bounce around all crazy.

Seriously, though. SERIOUSLY?

First thing I thought of when I saw the aliens.
That's creepy as shit. Lost my appetite after seeing this ad. Why would they think those weird looking dudes would make their food appealing? o.O

Are the subtitles in Comic sans?
Yes. Yes they are.
