Battlefield 1 |OT| Make War Great Again

For reference, BC2 and BFH still my favourite BF games, BF3 and BF4 was disappointing/average for me.

This game is up there among the best BF games and GOTY. Operations is just amazing and I can see it being one of the main modes

It reminds me of bc2 honestly. The shooting especially. It's amazing

My favorite Battlefield titles would have to be BF 1942, BF2 and BF4. I think BF1 has a great chance to join that group.

Sounds good. Will get though it is lame you have to pay extra for early access...

Just so I'm clear, the only way to play this early once your trial is up is to buy the early enlister edition for some ludicrous amount of money?

Wish I could play this game but the download is like 40gb, It would take me a week to download... Being a Battlefield vet, I'm going to have to pass on this one...

EA/Origin Access has been a thing for a while now hasn't it? I guess this is their biggest game since it's been a thing though.

He is referencing the Early Enlist Edition where you get the full game 3 days early.

I think this is different. If someone wants to PAY to play 3 days earlyand get a few cosmetic items, I have no problem with that.

Deus Ex was a pre order bonus where, I believe, you had to pre order by a certain date in order to get it early. That is much more shady, IMO. I could purchase the Early Enlist Edition tomorrow night right before launch and be ready to go if I wanted to pay. Deus Ex devs were trying to lure people into a pre order well before it actually released. Maybe a week?

Unlocks in less than a day. Hype.

Argonne Forest is breathtaking. As soon as it loaded up for everybody both sides drooled over it in the chat, we actually had to agree to stop talking about it and start the battle. It's that good.

Empires Edge is a phenomenal map imo. It reminds me a lot of Monte Casino from the Road To Rome expansion pack.

amazon isn't delivering my copy til next tuesday so hopefully the servers are solid by then

if not there's always the campaign (lol)

Man, it's finally here. Only got normal edition so I'll be on the 21st.

The game is also "out" in a week so this is a weird excuse. If you're really a BF vet why miss one of the best Battlefield games to date?

Or why not buy physical?

It's $79.99 for the early enlisted edition. My bad, that must have slipped my mind while I was trying to finish up the OT. Will update it

The talk of the Early Enlist Edition just made me upgrade my pre order on the PSN Store. I am a weak ass human being and I need help guys....

Battlefield is life, though. Priorities be damned.

PC doesn't have physical disc for this Battlefield.

Guess I could get on console but not much of a console guy...

So fucking hyped.

Played the first couple missions of the campaign, and even that's great. Dat Multi though.

Gimmie.

STILL playing BF4 to this day. So much bang for your buck.

I just realized they never changed the announcer to sound like she is on a radio... it sounds so robotic D:

Actually the voice was modified after the alpha - now she sounds more elated with a capture and more despondent with a loss. Problem with this is that it produces an uneven (schizophrenic) tone where she can sound happy and sad within seconds.

It was perfect in alpha - the voice was professional and dispassionate. Just as someone working in a war room would deliver the info.

Was tempted to pay the extra £13 for the early unlock but I just won't have the time to play it over the next few and the DLC alone doesn't really seem worth it for me.

I don't actually mind the whole early access aka pay more get it early deal, if I feel I'll get my value for money I'm in if not I won't, nobody is being forced into it.

I'm getting the Legacy edition of COD and won't be getting it early, would of been nice to have it day zero.

Your complaint still makes no sense. The download will take a week, so what? If you get it now you may have it downloaded by release.

If the game is ready to play for premium edition owners 3 days early, then actually you have delayed the game 3 days for people not paying the the entrance tax. The Deus Ex model was one where if they got enough preorders they would release the game 3 days early, or to put it another way, they threatened to delay the game 3 days if not enough people preordered it. The distinction between them feels quite small, and I don't think the Battlefield version is any better.

Is there going to be a base game + premium pass bundle available on/ after the 21st or is that a casualty of the 'pay more to play early' bullshit? I'd maybe stretch to $100 for the game and pass.

They should have made it sound like she was over a radio. In the alpha it felt like I was in a matrix simulation rofl

Agree, tho maybe a soft launch might help them ready up for launch-proper. I needed that Black Stallion - couldn't resist. :/

Sorry but I'm not going to babysit a download on Origin for a whole week, downloads on there always fail and restart all the time for me.

HYPE!

5 hours until it releases here in Perth, Australia. Got the rest of the week off to enjoy it.

Going to try stay healthy for this one, only treats i'm having are an iced coffee tonight and a Monster for the morning, after that it's back to usual.

What's the difference between Operations and Rush? They sound the same.

It's a bit of Conquest mixed in too. There are like 5 sections to attack and defend on, and each section has 2 or 3 sectors you either have to capture or defend. In between each section is a short intermission with some story bits before the next battle.

What's the difference between Operations and Rush? They sound the same.

Two(or sometimes 3?) flags in a sector. Attacking team needs to capture both flags at the same time to move on to the next sector of the map. If one flag gets captured, the defending team can capture it back, so constant pressure on both flags is needed to get both captured at the same time.

Different from Rush, but similar.

Edited because I don't want to ruin the first few pages, obviously I'm very wrong. Blame it on being ill and grumpy.

Can't wait for the game though it looks really good.
