What if... people love Metro so much exactly because it's not a boring large open map but a one with constantly ongoing hectic action?

This. Its why its a fan favorite and I can't wait to see how they remake it, they are probably working on some future type subway system map lol

Battlefield 2042 has gotten two detailed trailers for its new Portal mode, which allows players to customize matches on six different remastered maps from 1942, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3. Let’s take a deep dive into all the details you might have missed.

EA Play Live had some major announcements, including a Dead Space remake and a massive new mode for Battlefield 2042 that almost doubles the number of maps available at launch from the main All-Out Warfare experience. Battlefield Portal adds six remastered maps across 1942, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3. These maps allow players to fully customize a massive list of options, including pitting armies from different eras against one another, choosing what weapons and attachments they fight with, picking win conditions, what vehicles are available, and even using a logic editor to program modes like gun game or protect the VIP.

In this video, we’re going through the Battlefield Portal reveal trailer frame by frame to break down all the details you might have missed. You can see a new specialist and gadget, how the HUD works, how weapons seem to handle, and even how fast the new robot dog named Ranger can get destroyed. Some of these modes look ridiculous, like EOD bots versus tanks and wingsuits versus airplanes. Some other things you can spot in the trailers are greater destruction on the 1942 map El Alamein, the new low tide area on Bad Company 2 map Valparaiso, and the return of the tracer dart. Each of the returning maps runs on the latest Frostbite engine, has remastered visuals, and some maps have added areas to accommodate 128 players.

I haven't owned an online shooter since BF4. Not because I don't like them, because I'm the worst player in the world.

When you see 7 people running in a crowd and one gets sniped, that's me.

I'll be getting this game though because it looks great. Reminds me of BF4 a bit.

Same. Just pray we don’t end up in the same team otherwise we’ll be well and truly screwed haha.

I’m in the same boat in terms of skill. I do break even most games of CoD in Hardcore mode with some matches where I’m certain someone else with skill and precision has taken over control of the game now and then.

I have fun trying though. We could always make a team of people lacking skill and all go up against anyone in random matches just to see what happens.

Bullets spraying everywhere, almost no one dies, match times out.

you would've loved bf1. They made sniping hard in that game. You had to get a headshot in that game to get a one hit kill.

And most importantly because the game was set in ww1, every gun was fucking trash. Some medic guns had just 5 rounds per chamber, assault rifles had no range and most topped out at just 20 rounds. Snipers didn't have fancy scopes and you had to be in a certain range to get a one shot kill so a lot of snipers would need to get up close to get kills.

And lastly, the operation game mode fixed the long dreaded running and dying problem that has plagued the bf series for so long. They split maps into smaller sectors that were linear so it was impossible to get flanked and very easy to get back into the action. Because the guns were so short ranged you had to get into the fight which meant a lot of face to face combat.

Sniping was only really bad in the desert maps but they had a lot of tanks in those maps so u could just wait for them to spawn and avoid the snipers altogether.

I really hope they bring back operations. They removed it in bfv which pretty much ruined the game for me.

Does anyone have an idea if cross progression means that if you buy the gold edition on let's say PS5, you'll benefit from the included bonuses on other platforms if you own a standard edition ? cause i'd like to buy the game on both PS5 and PC (gold PS5 and standard PC)

That's what they're saying.
Cross-progression and cross-commerce
Alongside cross-play we’re also building cross-progression and cross-commerce for Battlefield 2042, which will be shared across all platforms and travel with you wherever you go. For example, your unlocked progress and purchases in your PlayStation® copy of the game will carry over onto the Xbox or PC version, and vice versa*.

Given another chance
Does anyone know if I pre-order BF2042 Gold from CDKeys if I’ll get early access on the 12/11?
It’s almost £20 saving is I order from them. Do I receive an early access code or something for CDK?
Thanks in advance 😊👍
