Battlefield 5 physical sales down more than half on Battlefield 1

They didn't just leave out that 'detail.' They knowingly changed it to virtue signal.
According to your logic, the boots they were wearing were immaterial to the mission as well. As were the weapons they were using, because they didn't fire a shot anyway. But somehow that is important to you. You're being rather selective in what you deem important. The point is, if you want to recreate a true story as accurately as possible, you try to get the facts straight.
Read what I quoted; The Wikipedia intro leaves out the detail of it being an all male op. The Wiki intro doesn't mention the weapons or boots either. I never said those details were important, only that they may be interesting to me.

Why do you keep bringing up the wiki page? I expect a developer to put in a bit more work than just reading the first paragraph on wikipedia when making a historical game.

Don't you know? All important facts on any topic are listed in an Wikipedia article! If it is not important, then it isn't listed. /s

You misquoted me so I was correcting you.
But yes they would have to look into more details to discover that it was an all male team because the summary is reserved for pertinent information only.

Actually, if you look at the Wikipedia article it names the participants and uses he/him pronouns.

So there you go.

Historical Record: "Joachim Rønneberg was the last surviving member of the Gunnerside team; he died on 21 October 2018, aged 99.The New York Times reported that at 95 Rønneberg was "still mentally sharp ... and possessed of the unflappable calm that so impressed British military commanders more than 70 years ago"

EA/Dice: "Who?"

IISANDERII: "Exactly! Who? I'm only interested in pertinent information and see no reason why a teenage girl couldn't have just as easily completed the mission".

That's right folks. It doesn't matter who participated in these missions.

Anyone could have done it, really.

Why honor the actual participants, real life heroes, when we've got this agenda to push?

Truthfully it's shameful that Dice went with this and you outght to be utterly embarrassed with this "pertinent information" nonsense.

Here we are, I guess.

Yeah that's not part of the summary is it? I was talking about the summary and provided the actual quotes.

Meanwhile you're disingenuous enough to fabricate quotes out of thin air. You mentioned embarrassment but you sure got the target wrong as well.

How did I misquote you? You seem to bring up wikipedia as some sort of proof that the gender of those who completed the mission isn't important enough to even be mentioned there, then you go on asking everyone to prove the commandos being male was vital for the mission.

It doesn't even have anything to do with that. It has to do with the truth. They happened to be men, that's why it's important.

The devs said BFV is about telling the untold, unknown stories of WW2. They don't actually deliver on that promise. What BFV delivers are not untold stories; They're made up ones.

ouch... just replying to reading the news about the sells. I was waiting for a good deal for PC. anyone here recommend it? I enjoyed the campaign of BF1, but didnt play much multiplayer... (i got BF1 for 5 bucks, but since i sucked multiplayer was a turn off for me, lol)

The first time I saw the trailer and saw the lady with the prosthetic hand, I thought "cool, they're going an alternate history, steampunk-ish Battlefield". Instead we got this WWII game that doesn't even feel like a WWII game somehow. Just random beautiful maps.

It's a shame because technically it looks great and I like all the design changes they made to MP in theory. Shame about the single player being so short and the advertising and messaging being so shit.

I have a feeling that if this exact game that was released, had grey, black and red Nazi, swastika, historical b&w footage filled marketing. Like the old CoDs and Medal of Honor games, this shit would be selling better.

Instead the marketing was actually "don't buy this if you liked our old shit".
