Best way to travel with PS4?

So I'll be moving to St Louis for about 4 months. Long enough for me to want to take a bit of home with me. Including my PS4.

I was just wondering if anyone can speak from past experiences what's the best way to deal with this in regards to air travel. Should it be carry - on? Should I put in my checked in baggage. In regards to carry - on, when I go through security, you have to pull out all electronics. I'd imagine that would also include your PS4. Which - in that case, brings my laptop, my Ipad, my LG G3 phone, my PS4, plus other things like my wallet and watch which cumulatively costs a lot of money.

Furthermore, is there any kind of carrying case or some sort of protective cover that would limit the stresses on the device.

Thanks.

I moved to Hong Kong recently (from Ohio) and I stuff the ps4 with its original packaging and everything in my suitcase.... I would not recommend this as I had to pay overweight fees on the damn thing

Mine made it from Tokyo to Sydney in its original box, wrapped in some clothes in my checked luggage. No problem.

That looks slick! Though shame it only holds one controller.

Ps4 slim redesign to include handle confirmed.

It's not built for the PS4 specifically. I believe you cut the foam out yourself, so technically you could angle the controller so you could fit two of them in there.

There's a ps3 travel bag you can use it's like a laptop bag but pockets for controllers and such

well, my flights wed. morning so unless i can purchase it at a store than no dice.

i do have a laptop carrying case that's padded, and I think should do a decent job. i can purchase some packaging cushion (air bubbles etc.) at a the local store to further support.

now i just need an idea for the controller.

Regardless, your console will come out scratched in some fashion so you'll need to come to terms with that first.

Once you do, use a backpack or a suitcase. Throw your controllers and accessories in the suitcase and keep your laptop and your console as a carryon. You'd feel at ease that way knowing that it'll be on you and not mishandled.

I've traveled a lot and I simply pad fragile electronics with clothes and cardboard. I admit you need to have some foresight of the stresses the device will go through and pad accordingly. Layers!

I use my old PS2 bag, fits like a glove, but I can only get a few games in and the cables if I pack them, doubt a controller would really fit. I'd recommend a Ps4 bag since it's pretty much made for that and will hold your stuff. Or, it's so small and light anyway you could probably fit it in your suitcase...

I'm currently in the middle of my graduate studies and I've moved quite a lot. I've been using about 1.5 meters of bubble wrap to protect the console. Haven't experienced any problems yet. A PS4 case also sounds like a good idea but I don't think is that necessary.

I have a similar dilemma. I am going to New York next week for a holiday and I'm considering picking up a PS4 and bringing it back home (I live in the UK).

Has anyone ever done this? As far as I can tell I shouldn't have any problems bringing it through customs. I am a bit nervous about it though.

Regarding packing it up, I reckon it should be ok wrapped up in clothes etc.

The reason I want to do this is because the exchange rate on the dollar is so good for £ right now.
