Bethesda working with Sony to get Dawnguard to run on PS3.

http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1407614-update-on-ps3-dlc/

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Yeah. Bethesda really fucked this whole thing up.

On the plus side now they cant make any extra money selling DLC to Skyrim ps3 players. I am sure thats a decent amount of money lost due to there complete technical inadequacy.

Also something tells me this is all just leading to some big awkward on stage E3 handshake in a few years.

Pretty sure this can be fixed by saving your game to a new slot, might have to delete the old one, can't remember exactly.

Good to know they're seeking help but still..

Somebody told me deleting installed data would fix it, but that didn't work. I'll give this a try, although I'm pretty sure I've done this since the patch released.

Why do they insist on using Gamebryo?

At this point it's probably best to wait until next gen to build a new engine. They desperately need to do it though, if their first next gen game is gamebryo then I hope people have enough sense to not buy it because at that point it's all that will get them off their lazy asses.

Good on Bethesda for being honest with their audience, you don't see that a lot these days.

Hope they get it sorted for the PS3 fans out there.

Godspeed, had the exact same issue post-patch and was losing my shit. Thought it was freezing a little bit after fast-travelling but noticed that it didn't trigger until I walked into water.

Are most people still having issues post-patch too? Haven't played extensively since it dropped but I did notice it running better in previously unplayable areas. Guessing it just delayed the drop-off or something?

I got Morrowind for XBox 1, and after reading reviews and comparisons and hearing Garnett Lee say five years ago on 1up Yours that the PS3 version of Oblivion would have superior visuals, I did something I always hate to do: I jumped platforms mid-franchise.

Bought Fallut 3 and Fallout: NV on PS3 as well. So I felt kinda... committed, Bethesda-wise.

So this Skyrim PS3 shit has been a bummer. And I figured I'd just wait it out until they got their shit together, and buy the Game of the Year disk for PS3 just like I did for Oblivion, and get some DLC along with a final, patched, functional copy of the game.

But it looks like there will be no PS3 silver lining. I'm fucked.

AND I BLAME GARNETT LEE.

Anyone who purchases this DLC for the PS3 is crazy. And I say this as a guy who played Skyrim on PS3.

Blame Crazy Ken & Sony for the lack of RAM and making it hard for developers to program for. I don't care if this post sounds like its from 2008.
