Beyond Two Souls is coming on PS4 if we trust Gameblog.fr

PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan says remaking certain PS3 games like The Last of Us for the PS4 audience is "just common sense", but the firm must take care not to let the old generation define the new one.

"But I think it's got to be looked at very holistically, you can't have too many of these things otherwise next-gen just looks like rehashed last-gen and we certainly don't want that."

Never trust Gameblog.fr for anything.

Okay, maybe for Quantic games at least

With Ratchet: Nexus and Beyond: Two Souls in that PSN PAX sale, I'm expecting both of those to turn up on PS4 by year's end.

Glad i waited if true.

So far i waited for GTA5, Last of Us, Dark Souls 2 and this. I will also wait for Assassins Creed Rouge and Borderlands The Prequel PS4.

Did this game sell well? I hope it didn't as I thought it was terrible.

A re-do is absolutely not worth it.

What is this "scene of the baby" by the way?

I guess this is the last game on PS3 that I want and am missing, so if the news is true I'm officially done with the system.

Apart from all the unplayed ps+ games.

I was also looking forward to Dark Souls 2 on the PS4, but I don't think it's coming at this point. Not sure why they still wouldn't have announced it. I guess TGS is a possibility, but if that goes by without an announcement I don't see it coming.

biggest disappointment of 2013 for me :/

I was hyped for it, the game had sooo much potential and a few interesting ideas, but the plot and writing...just terrible.

stopped playing after the navajo chapter.

I guess it could be interesting if you can pick it up for cheap, but go in with very very very low expectations.

They could have used the game to bolster their slim first party holiday portfolio, but since it has skipped a GC announcement I doubt we'd get it this year. 2015 seems pretty crowded with quality new releases already so I doubt people will be waiting for remastered games of any kind, particularly one which wasn't well liked by everybody in its target audience.

You hope the game didn't sell because you didn't like it? That's one of the most ignorant statements I've heard on here in a long time.

I am expecting a Dark Souls 2: "Prepare to Die Edition" with the Season pass and all DLC included. It would be dumb as fuck to to release it plus it also got spotted on Tesco awhile ago.

Hope it's true, I loved the game on PS3, and I would totally play it again on PS4.

Hell, if it's 40 bucks or less I'll be there Day 1.

I only got to play this recently so a remaster if true wouldn't appeal to me much. I kinda thought the story was all over the place anyway I must admit, still good for those who held off or didn't have a PS3 last gen.

That strikes me as more likely than the not-entirely-uncommon belief that the impressive vertical slice From showed off initially was not a vertical slice but instead a portion from a whole similarly-detailed build of the game, one which Scamco is sitting on for the purpose of a current-gen re-release.

I'm not sure this game by itself would interest many people. A package with Heavy Rain would make more sense.

Bleh this isn't really needed other than for eye candy. Outside of a few chapters the story was garbage.

Why they keep doing remakes?

One thing is "TLoU", that is a fu**ing master piece, and other thing is "Beyond: two souls", in spite of being a good-decent game, does nothing to be redone in such a short time lapse

Really? You must be joking. Gameblog's track record for the last few months speaks for itself. We were the first to report on:

-PS4 Share's 60 minute time limit: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/45000-ps4-le-share-play-limite-a-60-minutes

-We were the first to reveal the setting, main character, and coop gameplay of Assassin's Creed Unity (the game didn't even have a name back then): http://www.gameblog.fr/news/41758-assassin-s-creed-5-nom-du-heros-epoque-equipement-nos-inform

-We were also the first site to reveal that Ubisoft was working on a second AC game for 2014, Assassin's Creed Rogue (formerly Comet): http://www.gameblog.fr/chronique_706_assassin-s-creed-comet-sur-ps3-et-xbox-360-nos-infos-black-f

-Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/42526-un-pack-wii-u-avec-mario-kart-8-est-prevu

-PS4-PS Vita bundle: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/42868-le-pack-ps4-ps-vita-est-une-realite-date-et-prix-nos-infos

-Assassin's Creed Monopoly: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/44759-decouvrez-le-monopoly-assassin-s-creed

-Child of Eden: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/16004-e3-10-child-of-eden-le-prochain-mizuguchi

-WWE 2K15 framerate/resolution on PS4 and Xbox One: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/45140-ps4-vs-xbox-one-resolution-et-framerate-de-wwe-2k15

When we put "Infos Gameblog" at the beginning of a news post, it means that we got the information straight from verified sources. Of course, plans can change (BioShock PS Vita anyone?). But c'est la vie as we say here.

By the way, we also just put up new information about Quantic Dream's first PS4 game (the fact that it's linked to the Kara tech demo, that they're trying to make it compatible with Morpheus): http://www.gameblog.fr/news/45344-kara-ps4-nos-informations-sur-le-nouveau-quantic-dream

But when, it's been in the rumour mill for so long and it wasn't announced at GC.

Wasn't the original game horrible? Most reviews shredded it because of the discombobulated storyline.

Nope, the game has an average of 70 at MC. It's one of the most underrated games of last year.

Gamers these days, anything below a 80 is a flop.

I actually liked Beyond: Two Souls, but I would probably wait until it's at a discount before purchasing it. I would have rather had a Heavy Rain PS4 version, though.

Game was "OK" in my book, but not worth buying again for PS4. Great for people who switched from 360 to PS4 though, I guess. Still wouldn't buy for full price and wait for sale. Original game dropped in price really quickly, since basically whole game is an interactive movie.

What price would be good to jump in on tihs one if you've never played a David Cage game before? I'm aware of the no fail state etc.

Kinda breaks the magic of the PS4. Be careful Sony.
/s unlike seemingly half of GAF I don't mind remasters at all

It sold rather decently. 1.5M+ as of March. The "scene of the baby" is the scrapped tutorial section of the game where you play Jodie as a baby.

The game was awful. Sony need to pick better game to remaster for PS4. They have PS3 first and second waves (Warhawks, Demon's Souls, inFamous..ect) if they want to remaster older PS3 games.

I would say that, from a business perspective, this one is an excellent choice. Like Heavy Rain before it, Beyond: Two Souls performed admirably for a game from such a genre. It found a sizable niche among PS3 owners. If more of this niche exist within the PS4 install base (many of whom never had a PS3), then it's a smart gamble to make.
