Biggest game you have managed to beat in one sitting?

Jade Empire. Got home from work on Friday, threw it on, and when the credits started to roll "a few hours" later, I realized it was 10pm on Saturday.

Why such a strong connection/bond over that game?

I only got to play the demo, but I liked what I played of it.

Not sure honestly. I like it well enough, my friends are the ones that love it.

Has some great tracks on the OST, best story of the Tales games I've played, and a fun combat system. We've kind of formed a huge amount of inside-jokes and traditions based around it, it almost feels like a personal holiday each year. That's what keeps me committed personally.

Wonderchef is a personal favorite.

Final Fantasy 4. It was during summer vacation, I think I was 16 at the time and back then - due to intense LAN party training - I was able to stay up 2-3 days at once and still function. I basically spent most of that summer marathoning every RPG I could get my hands on, I probably finished 20 or more.

MGS4. I ended up having to replay it later because I couldn't remember most of the second half---too delirious when I played it.

I beat the first 3 Gears of War games co-op with my brother in one sitting. And Resident Evil 5 as well, so whatever one of those that is the longest.

Super Mario Bros. 2-3 with no whistle, probably. Me and my sisters kept the NES on all day

Or Who Framed Roger Rabbit on NES

Think it was Symphony of the Night when it first released. I bought it on day and took it back the next for a part exchange. I think. Obviously I didn't 100% it.

Assassin's Creed 1.

I didn't have a lot of money in those days, and I could only rent it for a day or two. So I sat down at 9 AM and played it beginning to end, stopping only for bathroom and food.

About halfway through I realized I didn't like the game and the issues I was having weren't getting any better, but I figured F it. Might as well see it through. I have played through worse games, and I wanted to see if I could beat it in one sitting.

So I did. I liked part 2 much better, but then 3 sucked and that was that for me and Assassin's Creed.

My longest full game run of a blind playthrough would probably be Halo Reach on legendary in about 8-10 hours.

My longest one-sitting full playthrough of a game I have already played would have to be Tales of Vesperia in about 10 hours.

Halo: CE

Christmas Day, 2001

The day I received OG Xbox as a gift, my brother and I played through it into the wee hours of the night. Was an awesome memory!

I played through Uncharted 3 in one day. I didn't realize it was a possibility until I hit Chapter 20 and saw it was only 9 pm.

I beat Brawl's Subspace Emissary in one sitting the day I got it. I think it took me pretty much the whole day.

Wasn't blind, but coincidentally just yesterday I beat RE4 in one sitting. I've beaten it many times but the PC version went on sale the other day so I bought it to play mercenaries on my laptop on the go. One of the best games ever made.

MGS 1. Could not afford a memory card when I was younger.
Oh yeah, I did this too around 2008. I was playing on a PS2 and didn't realize PS1 games can't save to a PS2 memory card, and I didn't have a PS1 card.

I've only done this twice with games over 4 hours long. There are plenty of smaller games , Inside comes to mind for example.

But from morning into the night I've played through both metal gear solid 4 and the last guardian this way.

Infamous. I took the day off from work to meet a repair man who never came so I ended up playing a completely uninterrupted 12 hours in a row before I left to get food and get back to it. I was experiencing Tetris syndrome pretty bad at that point and was wondering how to destroy the cars and trucks I was passing by in real life on the way to the burger joint.

The Stanley Parable, in ~20 minutes.

But not counting games you can finish in less than an hour: none. I mean, I rarely play more than six hours straight (always a piss or stretch break in between), but when I do, it's probably an RPG that takes MUCH longer to complete anyway (e.g. Skyrim, Witcher 3, Dark Souls).

First time playing: Probably Street Fighter 2 on SNES. Got it as Christmas present. Played from morning until past midnight to beat it as a child. I'm guessing with Blanka.

Repeated playthroughs: SotN or Super Metroid or RE2. No glitches, just normal progression.

I haven't played those games in years. I should go back and do that.

The Witcher 2
Mass Effect 1
BioShock
Oblivion
WC3

I played through Bio on the Brass Knuckle thing listing to house music all the time man that is one of my best viddy moments.

This thread made me realize that I've never finished a game in one sitting. I have done long sessions of about 6-8 hours or so, but I rarely play games that can be finished in that amount of time.

No clue. The last all day-length game that I beat in one sitting was Bayonetta 2, though.
