Black Mesa: Blue Shift aims to fully remake Barney's solo adventures

Now a new group calling itself HECU Collective has begun work on a similar overhaul for the Gearbox-developed Half-Life expansion Blue Shift. Called Black Mesa: Blue Shift, it will make use of Black Mesa resources and be developed in the same style, and like Black Mesa will be released in chapters. It's not clear how far along development is at this point, but the team shared some screens and said that it hopes to announce a demo soon. And it does have some experience in the field, having previously released the Black Mesa mods Black Ops and Azure Sheep.

You can also take a listen to the first track from the Black Mesa: Blue Life soundtrack, by composer Aslan Akhmetov, below.

Recently, some images and teaser footage for Blue Shift have been unveiled. The screenshots show the environments from the Half-Life expansion, while the short video aims to demonstrate some of the game's atmospheric sounds. Currently, episodes one, two, and three are available to download, with these latest screenshots and video representing the next episode. There's no release date for the fourth installment just yet, but it's apparently 70% ready and due this summer.

Black Mesa's new campaign screenshots were shown off last December. Referred to as Operation: Black Mesa, this new DLC aims to bring remakes of both the Opposing Force and Blue Shift expansions that were originally released in 1999 and 2001, respectively. These new campaigns essentially told the story of the disaster at Black Mesa from different perspectives, with the former placing the player in the role of one of the marines, while the latter had them running around the facility as a security guard.

Been playing through the 1st 4 chapters of this remake and found it to be damn good.

But...

This happens every single time during the initial loading screen.

This looks like what's happening with Nvidia cards with chromium apps since a driver update like 3 months back (and they still haven't fixed)

Wonder if the menu being animated is using something chromium to do it.

I just recently noticed that when using the Brave Browser.
