needs moar characters :\

I know it's a new IP but it would be awesome if a few GG characters made a cameo. Would love to see Millia, Baiken and a few others make a redesigned return.

This looks great, but I'm far too attached to the Guilty Gear series to not hope for a new high def iteration of the franchise in the future as well.

Well, original GG also had 10 characters, 2 sub-bosses and 1 boss.

Back, to GG,"thank" Ishitawari, I think he denied a GG anime which probably would have made good revenue. Well, okay, honestly, what probably accounts for 98% of the change to BB is:

From Neithan at Dustloop(http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4599):

---------------

I made an article here but in french : http://www.lost-edens.com/blog/neithan/2008/02/18/blazblue/

So I'll translate it briefly.

In arcadia magazine showed, Arcsys saif that they were stopping (and it's official) dev on Naomi and the Guilty Gear Series.
The reason is that now, as sammy and sega fusionned, the licenses of sammy are now for Sega. And is sammy was only a pachinko editor and a modest editor for video games, sega decides what can be done with the license.

So to use Guilty Gear name, musics, properties, ArcSys have to ask, and Sega can say no if they do not want to. And if Sega is Ok, ArcSys have to pay rights for the pre-isuka creations, as only the post-isuka creations are their creations.

So with an editor like sega deciding for you if you can or not, continue your work, it's clear that ArcSys prefered doing another game, and this game is Blazblue.

Guilty Gear is not dead as the license is still in sega's hands, and ishiwatari is working on Ouverture and others games related to Guilty Gear, but Guilty Gear will never be done by Arcsys as they officialy announced they quit the dev.

So if new Guilty Gear comes, it will be developped by Ishiwatari (who have the creative rights) and another studio, for Sega.

It's not bullshit, e guilty player who worked for them for presentations confirmed everything.

Now you understand why almost all characters changed in Ouverture, why almost all characters in the story of AC+ dies or disapear, and why the rest of characters of ouverture is completly redesigned and changed (Valentine being a "copy" of dizzy for exemple), it's a way for ishiwatari to not make the same mistake and not pay too many rights for the previous creations.

So no, Arcsys will not make a revision of Guilty Gear, GG is over for them.
---------

So yeah, it's basically over.

NO!

That's really too bad tha ArcSys quit the Guilty Gear series, hopefully BlazBlue will fill that hole well enough. Is there a good reason why Ishiwatari isn't working on BlazBlue?

US/ENGLISH Version of BlazBlue (New Fighter) To Be Sold

I just saw from Arcsystemworks US division, AKSYS games, they will be selling an ENGLISH localized version of BlazBlue !

The game runs off a Taito Type X2 arcade board. If people are interested you can buy it directly from Arc for about $3300. Contact coinop@aksysgames.com to set it up.

I contacted them and they notified me that it will come out the same time the Japanese game is launched.

Awesome.

Tell Aksys to get started on a 360 version, too (Last arcade around here closed 2 and a half years ago).

Just so everyone knows, a console version of BlazBlue is VERY far off, so support Arc/Aksys and contact your arcade operators if you wanna play the game!

VERY far off as in next fall? or 2-3 years away :(

i would not ask my local arcade for this game just because it would not make any money the only ppl who go to arcades in my area are the DDR music game sheep :(

I hope ps3 version is not too far away.

Such bullshit. What's taking so long!

The wish to give arcade owners adequate time to regain their investment and actually make a bit of a profit. Unlike Street Fighter IV which is scheduled to hit this winter.

You may not like it but arcade operators will love it for this.

I'll ask my friend who manages an arcade about it (North Charleston, SC) but chances are it won't happen. Maybe Myrtle Beach might get it, that'd be worth the three hour drive!

I love my DDR thankyouverymuch! :(

Naw, just mail Aksys his contact, I'm sure they'll be able to make an interesting offer. At least a bit more than "it's a great game, you should get it". :D

Okay, some new stuff:

New trailer at Famitsu, now showing off all 10 characters. (okay, a proper version of the stream trailer from before)
http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1217362_1124.html

Finally, a bit of real gameplay with Litchi. Some of the stuff she does already looks increadibly well and smoothly animated. Oh yeah, and slick gameplay, of course :D

Thanks to chopa from SRK. That's it, have fun :D

Just beat me to the punch. Litchi seems fun to play with.

Well, you COULD have read the posts that came after it, but again: they wish to give arcade owners adequate time to regain their investment and actually make a bit of a profit. Unlike Street Fighter IV which is scheduled to hit this winter.

Olaeh, get the contact info and who needs to be talked to, then mail it to support@aksysgames.com. They'll take care of the rest and see what they can do.

Okay, back to the program: new matches of Justin Wong playing Litchi. The last 2 ones are really neat, currently definitely my fave character. Sorry Taokaka -.-

BB better have a Slayer equivalent or im gonna pilebunker a kitten

Have you seen the 90's Giant Robo animation? Quite good, and there is a character in it called Alberto the Impacter on which Slayer was based. (practically lifted actually)

Hell even the design of Q from Street Fighter III was possibly taken from there. (unless the version in Giant Robo was an homage to a different character.)

Okay, most of you should have seen this in the KOF XII thread but for great Justice and reference.

Taokaka gameplay:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41253.html

The 4th trailer, for those who don't know it yet:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41265.html

The supposed(?) opening movie:
http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/21979

And finally, a Bang vs Noel vid:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41290.html

The quality on this is awesome, to say the least and should give you a good impression of what it will actually look. Also, I guess/hope we we won't hear "certain" things that often in a competent match... Uryya!!! :lol

Enjoy :D
