PSN? Why would this be a d/l title? If it is coming to consoles, it'll be a disc based game...

Well when i first heard about it, it was announced as Playstation Network Exclusive?

Where? I don't remember that. The only thing I know is a PSN exclusive would be Xam'd (an anime).

Yeah, the throw at the end really adds to the meat of it. 45% while using a super. I wonder if there was some kind of gauge draining cancel involved, can't see that when Jin has infinite super energy.

edit: Got the info that you need 100% of your super bar for the 2nd combo so that is actually pretty reasonable damage there.

Well, I went and made some very nice wallpapers from the available media, hosted on imagebam for full quality.

Alternate, somewhat softer version of Neko-Town wallpaper:

Enjoy :D

From Dustloop.

First is Bang vs Ragna, 2nd is Noel vs Bang. Player 1 dominates both. Who might just be Ishiwatari :D

Those walls are sex, thank you. The game is so beautiful.

Whats Ishiwatari's involvement? I thought he was only composing the music?

Yeah, he did. Apparently he also knows how to play and played some promotional exhibition matches. A man of many talents :D

Btw, here he is:

Yeah, it is, but only for a very limited time, they got a test unit and will move it soon to see how it performs in other places.

Okay, big update at http://www.blazblue.jp/ with moveslists in everything... in Japanese though.

Why? Because it's now the 20th in Japan and the game is hereby officially released. Expect some release vids linked here in the next few days. :D

Also, Aksys did a lot of stuff since last time including a fun to listen to podcast, simply head over to http://aksysgames.com/bba/

Lastly... Play Asia has the BlazBlue soundtrack up for preorder. All who love Ishiwatari's music should seriously consider getting this.

I'm sure I read somewhere that there will be a PS3 (exclusive ?) version, but nothing about PSN.

There's a LAN gaming center near me called The Nexus that has some Astro City cabs imported from Japan running Marvel VS. Capcom 2, Capcom VS. SNK 2, some Guilty Gear game (I didn't catch which one they had), and one that's out of order at the moment. Maybe I can convince them to add BlazBlue... :D

EDIT: That list provided does seem to suggest that they're getting it... nice. :D

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Played this today. Unfortunately I can't comment much on the (superb) visuals because this particular game center had the game in some old versus city cabs. The picture looked a bit squished, too; this game is supposed to be running at 720p with a 16:9 aspect ratio, right? But that said, it still looked beautiful and looked like it was animated better than Arc's previous fighters.

I tried Noel, Rachel, Iron Tager, Taokaka and Litchi, and my friend used Bang, Jin, and Ragna. The game play feels pretty similar to Guilty Gear as one would expect (felt a little bit slower to me), so it was easy to get the basics down and start to get a feel for the characters, who all feel pretty unique from one another. I liked Taokaka (is this character a girl, by the way? I got a bit of a Bridget vibe from "her" for some reason) and Iron Tager the best out of who I used, and did the best with Iron Tager (holy shit are his Sledgehammer+follow-up and Atomic Collider moves effective!). Also used him when playing single player and went through the game. (There are two end bosses, by the way.)

Definitely want to go back and play a whole bunch more. I found myself liking it more than SF4, which is unusual for me since I generally prefer Capcom fighters over anything from Arc. Hope to see this on home consoles soon!

How'd Noel play?

Guns, guns, GUNS. I didn't really ever use Face in Battle Fantasia, but her Chain Revolver seems kind of similar to his Frontier/Western shooting attacks; it lets you chain up to four different attacks with the D button together. Her other attacks are ranged and let you shoot at different areas on the screen. She came off as a pretty agile character and seemed like she might be pretty versatile at long-ranged and close-up combat. Her super is a flurry of bullets and can also be done in the air.

Damnit, the closest location is hours away. This blowwwwsssss

Why Ishiwatari is only involved in the soundtrack this time?, he was like "the master" of Guilty Gear. The character design on this game pale in comparison with Ishiwatari work on Guilty Gear.

The game looks really cool, I hope we get a home version before summer 2009, the last boss design is meh.

Nothing in this game seems to make any fucking sense.

It's got Ishiwatari written all over it.

REBEL 1! Fuckin' Japan, seriously. . .

So despite finding no decent Carl matches online, I managed to find some cool loops with him after some grinding. I love his character design.

Game is beautiful in person, videos don't do it justice, etc.! If you are within a reasonable distance of a machine, it's definitely worth checking out. If this is what 2D HD looks like, I can't wait to see KOF12! Why can't they make a next-gen Castlevania that looks like this?
