Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC Boss Footage (off-screen)

One of the things I love about bloodborne is how they completely disregarded the 'dignity' mission statement of the souls designs. Bloodletting Beast's Headless form, One Reborn, and now this. All awesome Cronenbergian horrors.

It's a Souls DLC. Four bosses at least.

One boss is just being too pessimistic, but I really don't expect 4 at all, 3 at most.

4 bosses means a lot more in comparison to the amount of content in Bloodborne than it does for Dark Souls, so I guess that's the reason I just can't see them having 4 new bosses in the DLC.

I'd love to be wrong, of course.

If nothing else, there's got to be a new Great One in there somewhere.

I want the bow to scale with arcane and let me shoot glowing blue space snakes, like good old Thulsa Doom did, but one better with the cosmic unholy applied instead of your regular garden-variety snake magic.

The bow is SKL/ARC.

As promised, I added a new video showing the beginning of the demo this time. Quality is so-so, but it will have to do.

Not sure I'm getting this as I barely finished Bloodborne. Scrub gamer here. I liked it but, no where good enough to actually pay attention to te story. Survival was my only concern.

Blim, mind if I ask, how do you guys decide who goes to TGS or you have corespondence in Japan? Heh

I kind of winged BB when it comes to builds.... should I have put more consideration in that or is it more okay in BB than it is in DS? I suppose when I NG+ I'll have to keep this all in mind.

The big ass whip thing. Not really, the pizza-cutter is the best. The non-trick mode looks boring as hell though, same issue as the Burial Blade.

I dont remember the whip thing from the trailer (not gonna watch the new gameplay). What's the non-trick mode? Is it just a staff or something?

It looks more like a sword (or a cleaver) and a club had a hate-child but with notches making it reminiscent of a flattened backbone.

The beasts are supposed to be debased regressions of humanity. People like Ludwig, before of lofty status, have become the very thing they hunted.

The statement about dignity was about a dragon covered in maggots. I think FROM wants to keep things classy in general but thematically the design of these bosses are a rational diversion from this rule given the lore behind them.

And yeah, they're totally awesome cronenbergian horrors :P

Bow-Blade seems like a great addition. One of the reasons I've been critical of Bloodborne as a game is because of the lack of varied playstyles between weapons so adding in a more viable ranged option for skill based characters should be really cool.

The boss looks neat too, though it's starting to get a bit hard to differentiate the various walking mounds of grotesquery that a lot of Bloodborne bosses are.

Fuck! Does this mean I have to roll a third character and make her skill arcane? I never leveled up arcane on any of my characters.
Arcane only matters if you plan on using Arcane Gems and fire/bolt/arcane attacks. Many other weapons have arcane scaling but it doesn't do much.

Skill is the way for high physical damage.

Edit: But seriously, I'm surprised that the bow doesn't scale with Bloodtinge because it uses bullets.

That better stay the case. I guess worst case I can just level up arcane a bit during the dlc. Not like I won't get new blood echoes or anything.

It's easy to watch footage and criticize the way someone is playing, but it really looks like this person hasn't played vanilla Bloodborne much at all. He sits back playing way too timidly, when there were plenty of obvious chances to rush in and get a few hits off.

Looks good, though I'm not too impressed with that particular area. Looks like a rehash of Mensis and Nightmare Frontier.

Yep.

How do you usually access the DLC? Like if you've completed it and have a NG started, do you have to battle through all the stuff again, or is it an option on the main menu?

The Dark Souls 2 DLC just had specific warp points at the end of an area you would use to access one of the three new locations. Dark Souls required you to just go back to one area to grab a particular item and then go back to a previous area, which opened up a portal to the DLC.

Normally no not an option from main menu , it woven into the main campaign . Get to certain points and get an item or something to access it. At least that how it was in previous games

The only thing that could get me more excited than Fallout 4 is more Bloodborne. Hot damn, I'm gonna play the crap out of this.

Edit: hmmm, my last save was the beg on new game plus. Wondering if they put the DLC at the end of the game lol. Will still play through it but dammit, ng+ is hard. Ludwigs +10 two hand will only get me so far, lol.

I mean, in the trailer, don't they show using the pizza cutter weapon against Vicar? Sounds like what you're talking about as far as getting other items at certain progressions.
