Shares are up 9% pre market. Being talked about in financial press. No real confirmation of anything, yet.

Interesting. How feasible is this? Isn't EA the largest publisher in the world by far? And haven't they been bleeding money for a few years now?

EA market cap is only $5 billion. Nexon's market cap is almost double. Very feasible.

No idea who they are. But after looking them on wiki, I must say they are kinda small to buy up EA.

Revenue
1.12 billion USD

Operating income
492.86 million USD

Net income
331.87 million USD

Employees 3,200 (Sept. 2011)[6]

I wonder if they'd orientate EA around the same F2P strategy of Nexon or keep things more or less as is...

Yeah, this has to be fake. What does a F2P MMO team want with EA? Makes no sense at all.

Yeah, this has to be fake. What does a F2P MMO team want with EA?

They're not a "team", they're a larger publisher than EA by Market Cap--although not by annual revenue.

I have no idea if this is real or not, or whether it's a good idea or not, but I'd guess that the manpower, access to western markets, and lucrative brands are what Nexon would want with them.

Would EA be vulnerable to a hostile takeover at the moment, if Nexon's offer was rebuffed?

They make a shitload of cash through Maplestory. Didn't their latest earnings report tell us that they made almost $2b just from Maplestory?

Oh no!!! What will happen to Origin!

If EA was currently producing Mirror's Edge 2 I could almost give a fuck.
I can actually imagine more ways to see EA get better than worse, which is somehow telling.

I can't even fathom what this would mean if this was to happen.

Honestly, back in the early days of the 360... I thought MS would be the ones to buy EA... Giving them a HUGE portfolio of games only the 360... but this? I don't even know what would come of it...
