I'm sure everyone who followed BF thread is aware but for the sake of others who don't know...

Steal at $99.99

Was about to pull the trigger then saw it was Region A locked. BOOOOO

Is UK on same region as US?

I sold ton of Target's exclusive Living Daylights Blu-ray back in October.
All my buyers were from UK and I thought either bluray was region free or UK had same region as US.

Well, I ordered this. I actually own some random set and also Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace. For this price, it hardly matters that I'm duplicating a few movies.

Blu-ray regions. North America is in Region A, Europe is in Region B. Knowing 20th Century Fox, the region coding is probably actually enforced on the discs in this set. You should probably buy this one instead if you are in the UK.

Shit.

I only even consider about 12 of these movies good, and the rest are messes with varying degrees of laughable entertainment sprinkled throughout.

But goddamn, I told myself long ago, if this thing drops to $100 or less, I'm probably gonna end up getting it. Because 100 dollars for 20+ movies is a damn good price, especially considering the series they belong to.

Figured it would happen post-Thanksgiving.

Trigger = pulled.

Different region. However I think it might be that not all of them are locked like in the stand-alone ones. Dr. No is for example.

bought it. honestly i wanted the set for a while but $150+ i thought was too much. at $99 its a complete steal. even best buy has it for $129 before tax. this will make a great gift for my dad who loves 007!

My only worry is that my wife has earmarked this for my Christmas gift, and i just kneecapped her plans.

Which would make us even, as I'm pretty sure she's thinking she's gonna get me a Wii U for Christmas and I already have that shit ready to go for her gift.

The only problem is that I think only 9 of these films are new to blu-ray. The other 13 have been released in one form or another, and those releases are simply repackaged for this set.

But if whoever you're buying it for has never owned a Bond on blu-ray, then that isn't a problem at all, and you're guaranteed to be getting each Bond film, brand-spanking-new, for less than 5 bucks a shot.

Should I hesitate? looks like a great gift for a person who loves Bond.

There has to be a problem!

Absolutely not. I bought the ultimate DVD collection back in 2008 or 2009 for their 99$ sale. Its more expensive now. These will not get any cheaper than this.

They probably won't even repeat this sale next year.

I go the UK version of the set - it's really great and the early Connery films look excellent.

Might lead to a few re-evaluations too; I was surprised by how much I loved The World is Not Enough.

yup

at some point yah got just cash in

this deal is insane

Kinda want, but on the other hand I have seen Bond movies so many times that I have no idea if I even need this set.

The Pierce Brosnan era was not a good one. Only GoldenEye ended up being a really decent movie from that era. I still prefer Tomorrow Never Dies to The World is Not Enough though, because Michelle Yeoh.

I did Bond marathon last year and I found out that I don't care Roger Moore's movies all that much. He was a fine Bond but the actual movies were bit too campy for my taste.

That's exactly how I remembered things, but going through them on this set I found Tomorrow just didn't work, World is Not Enough was brilliant from start to end and Die Another Day was silly but lots of fun.

Who knows. Maybe when I go through them again I'll come to agree with you.

I just realized that even if I try to watch about 1 movie a day, giving myself breaks only on weekends, it would still take me more than a month to get through this set. That's a whole lot of James Bond.

Owned a few already, but I had to pull the trigger on this one.

No surprise that the best two actors(not bonds) can do their intro shootings very fittingly to their Bonds. Pierce Brosnan the more stylish and charming, and Daniel Craig very direct and brute.

aargh

i burned a ton of money on the Wii U and can't buy this :(

(i couldn't even get it shipped from amazon anyway...)

Damn it. US one is $95 Australian, British one (correct region) is $160ish. Still good value, but not the instant purchase it would be at 100. Bugger.

So tempting. Even though I'm in Australia, my PS3 is the Japanese version so technically I can get this and it'll play them just fine. Except for the fact that I'm kind of poor atm and should not be wasting that much money. But $200 saving is too tempting to pass.....

Had my eye on this for some time and very glad I waited till today when it seems it won't get better than this at least for the near future.

Moore is the only one who would actually hit anything.
