Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare |OT| Space Ghosts

I enjoy scifi sp campaigns and I'd be able to get the game for 9,99€ tomorrow in exchange for two old games at gamestop..

worth it?

For £10 it's definitely worth it. The campaign is really cool and just gets better and better toward the end. Not quite as enjoyable as Titanfall's but definitely the best COD campaign this gen alongside Advanced Warfare.

This campaign will scratch the most persistent of hard sci-fi itches.

Won't disagree there. Campaign has been a blast, just did my first mission where I could select from a galaxy map looking thing. Best single player in a long time, love the characters too

I'm actually enjoying the multiplayer. It's not amazing but it's fun. The wallrunning feels awful, though. Very slow and disconnected.

That's because moving and sprinting is faster than black ops 3.......they didn't speed up the wall running when they seemed to have change he base movement speeds

Are the side missions worth doing on the first playthrough? Do they add any story or are they solely gameplay? I kind of just want to see what happens in the main story and then go back if I want to, but not if they add interesting stuff.

Watching the credits, it seemed like Brian Bloom was the sole writer...which seems kind of insane?

Yeah, I noticed that too. I assumed he wrote it along with others but I guess not?

I mean if go off of that, then that's quite the feat. I think he did a great job.

i just noticed i never set up port forwarding for my ps4 after getting a new modem a few months ago.. that could be an issue.

wow, he was the writer AND the main protagonist? crazy. he did a great job.

as long as you have upnp turned on...generally not an issue anymore as your router should be automatically opening the required ports when necessary.

Wallrunning is basically just a flanking tool in this. Good for moving outside of the predictable routes, but that's about it.

Game is pretty fun, though there's an annoying stutter (PC) and this lag comp or whatever is annoying me, I just die fucking instantly in pretty much 90% of games.

I'm interviewing Jamie Hyder about her role and performance in the campaign on Tuesday. You guys have any pressing non-spoiler questions you'd like me to ask?

What was the experience like compared to Killzone?

Since Brian Bloom wrote and acted alongside, did that combination from him help when acting key scenes?

Sequel?

The online component of this game is so frustrating. I find it impossible to stay alive longer than 30 seconds. I never thought I would say this but I feel like I am too old to play CoD now.

I will ask her about working with Brian for sure. The story is going to mainly be about CoD putting an unprecedented (for the series) emphasis on narrative this time around.

I was also going to ask her a couple of questions about the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes. Anyone have a specific angle you'd be interested to hear her weigh in on?

My only issue with frontline is that the armor in your own base doesn't seem to work every time. I've had times where the armor vanished while I was still in the base and other times where I had armor but I got shot as if I didn't have the armor.

Ha, in that case, you should ask her if she knew she was auditioning for and was hired for this game.

Damn... All the questions I want to ask are spoiler related.

I guess you could ask about the mo-cap process or maybe how the training was done. Cause if I recall in some of the behind the scenes stuff they said they were actually helped trained by real soldiers to get some of the mannerisms and such down.

I'm enjoying the campaign, really digging it. And yes, Ethan is the star if the show thus far. Dying to play this on the pro, so trying to avoid playing until Thursday, lol.

The armor does disappear after a while. It's to keep people from camping. It wouldn't be a fun game mode if the enemy got a 10 point lead and then never left home base.

Most of these mp maps are garbage.

But they're all gorgeous. Mayday is a standout for me (though I don't know why it wasn't called "Event Horizon").

Yeah but I feel like it also works the other way as well. It allows the enemy team to also camp cause they know your armor will vanish.

Also i swear when you need to complete the simplest of challenges for your mission team, it always puts you in games against the most try hard fuckers. All I needed was 1. ONE. Goddamn score streak and I couldn't even get that.

"1 Warfighter Payload kill"

Seems easy enough.

pulls out Claw, immediately shot in the back

I'm not having any fun with the multiplayer. After playing Titanfall 2 the movement feels 3 steps behind in this game. It isn't fluid like it is Titanfall 2. The gunplay doesn't do much for me either. Think I'm going to shelf this for a while and maybe come back to it in a few months or something. Or never. Probably never.

That's great to hear. I still feel there needs to be more game with sci-fi settings in AAA dev. There's definitely post-apocalyptic settings, but I love seeing games that are firmly set in a future society.

I like this one but I can't tell what parts are gaps/wall-runnable and which parts are the end of the map. :|

Actually I noticed the mini map tells you. If say, there is a wall on the outside that you can run on, there's no red outline for out of bounds. If there is a red outline around one side, that means that is out of bounds.

Thoughts so far: I'm amazed.

I'm about 5 hours into the campaign and it's maybe my favorite COD campaign ever, and that includes COD4. We'll see if I'm still feeling that way after I beat it, but so far, goddamn. It outdoes Mass Effect in several respects and still feels like a true COD experience, plus a little bit of that Naughty Dog feel. Infinity Ward actually lived up to their promises on single player. The Retribution feels like it's alive, I care about the characters, and the Jackal missions are really, really fun. Can't believe there's so many of them.

MP feels much more solid than the beta did. Just waiting for them to patch up Infected and put it back in, and I'll be playing all the time. Nice of them to have double XP weekend and Terminal 24/7 in the meantime. Not the best MP ever, but different enough for me to play until 10th Prestige at least.

Zombies in Spaceland is the most fun I've ever had playing COD Zombies, period. They nailed it. Glad that they're going wacky instead of dark and serious for a change. Music is great, seems really deep yet accessible, voice acting is awesome, weapons are solid.

Modern Warfare Remastered is obviously perfect in both campaign and MP. Would've gladly paid $80 for this alone, so it's awesome that we got everything else in the Infinite Warfare package included. This is way more than enough to last me until next year's installment.

Well, this is absolutely the last CoD game I'm buying.

The lack of balance in multiplayer is just downright infuriating. And I'm not talking about weapon or ability balance - I'm talking about player balance.

I'll edit this to include screenshots once I get them off my PS4, but here were my games:

Game 1: Out of 12 players, 2 had above a 1.0 KDR (Team Deathmatch)
Game 2: Out of 12 players, 3 had above a 1.0 KDR (Domination)
Game 3: 2/12 (Domination)
Game 4: 2/12 (Domination)
Game 5: 4/12 (Frontline)
Game 6: 4/12 (Frontline)
Game 7: 2/12 (Frontline)
Game 8: 3/12 (Team Deathmatch)

It's just stupid.

I'm not having fun being fodder for someone else's skill demonstration.

It seems that Activision continues to demand more and more gameplay complexity while still ignoring how additional complexity magnifies skill differences.

Yeah I just got pounded 1-15. Not fun for me as a casual. Too much sniping.

Might take more than two days for levels to flatten out and matchmaking to adjust, bruh.

I like it quite a bit - my one complaint actually is that I hate hate hate the boost jumps. I hate people boost jumping everywhere and being so hard to aim at with controller as they move vertically.

I wish the game was just ground troops without the boost crap.

Agree, this game would be a lot better with out all the jumping. I don't get how some people have perfect aim and control while in the air.

Playing MWR and this at the same time makes me really wish we had a game that was a mix of the two. I do like some of the stuff the new CoDs have over MWR, but just give me boots on the ground military shooter action.

Yeah, threw myself off the map twice in one match of TDM. Had to use the minimap to see the actual routes because I killed myself accidentally so much.

The undercurrent of disdain for the audience that permeates the entire MP design is hilarious.

I just can't even with this shit.

Is IW confirmed to be playable in 4K on the Pro day one? I've enjoyed the ~2hrs I've played of the campaign so far but if there's definitely a day 1 PS4 Pro mode then I'll wait until Thursday to carry on.

Also enjoying the MP a lot more than I was in the beta, but I'm still getting games (maybe 1 in 4 ish) where the connection is absolutely abysmal.

When are you supposed to get your daily salvage bonus? Have not seen one yet despite two days of play.

You don't always get a notification for it, and seeing as though you'll only get about 10 salvage per day it's likely you've had them but not noticed.

Can I just say how much I'm enjoying the campaign in this? I mean I appreciate that it's straightforward so far and makes sense.

I just started it really but It's just goo fun right now. Also enjoying the Modern Warfare MP a lot. My favorite STILL of the COD multiplayer.

Haven't really played Zombies yet because I want a dedicated group for that.
