Dutch pr0n actress Kim Holland isn't welcome on the MW3 launch event. Hilarious Google translation here. "I say this: a sperm shower rather than a massacre." I have to say I concur.
haha, why the fuck was she even invited?... Lol she's so stupid.

Kim Holland "stepped on her cunt", or something like that :p

So, I THINK I'll have enough money for MW3 and more Xbox Live. Can someone familiar with Gamestop trade-in policies or is not bad with math like myself help me out?

I'm going this weekend to trade in:

Gears of War 3 ($30.00 value there)
Gears of War 2 ($4.00 value there)
Metal Gear Solid 4 ($4.00 value there)

They have a deal where if you trade in 3 games, you get an extra $10 bucks. Also, any game you trade in towards MW3, is another 30%. So will I make it to $60 bucks?

I'm selling my unused PS3 bluetooth headset here on GAF too so that will cover 3 more months of xbox live.

you cant use the 10 buck deal if your using the 30% deal..if you have a power up card though it would make it 40 %...I dont know looks like you probably will be close, like 5 dollars off 8 plus tax..I would choose the 30% deal but if there is a way cause I know on the gamestop site it says offers cant be combined but if you somehow got the offer to combine you will definitely get there.

Because despite of what GAf claims, CoD made by IW is always fun.
Bro fist.

I'm just wondering how much IW is in this game. It APPEARS to be a lot, but I'm still a bit cynical. Hopefully it will be a lot before the franchise gets diluted by even more devs and by then we can look forward to Respawn's first game :)

I'm 50/50 on this.

MW is the best FPS ever made imo.
MW2 was good until people found the broken perks at which point it turned into garbage.

Since IW removed what was broken (and hopefully didn't add new ones) this could very well be what MW2 should have been.

Darn that fine print. :(

Different question: How many maps are set to ship with MW3? That's the one thing the OT is missing info on.

I really want to get this game. What are the odds that supermarkets will price war in the UK like they have done every other year?

EDIT: Great OP, loadsa info, I already know what perks im going with! I can also see some weapons that I know will be fun to use. Sweet.

I love the huge number of maps that MW games ship with.

One of the best parts in an age when you're lucky to get more than half a dozen in most games.

It was for a while. But it wasn't perfect.
I also thought the campaign had good levels. Not a good story and not a good cohesive game, but the levels on their own were good.

Co-op (spec-ops) was great.

Hope so. I some aspects Black ops did better with the perks i think. But it wasn't fun imo.. and a bit of a mess.

First COD game where I'm not sure I'm going to get at launch. I hated MW2 and it looks like alot of the design decisions are being carried over. I much prefered Black Ops over it and so I'm really debating on this.

I had no plans of getting MW3 this year when stacked up against BF3 and Gears of War 3, yet here I am again getting ready to pre-order. I played a LOT of CoD4, maybe 3-4 months of MW2, and about 1 month of black ops. Even knowing I may play even less of MW3, I still know that those first few weeks of a new CoD game are damn near priceless to me. Everyone is online on Xbox Live in mass droves, all your buddies want to play, and it's just good times all around.

For me I'm paying for that yearly 3 weeks of bliss with friends before the shitstorm comes in, and honestly that's worth it for me. Plus, the extra new shiny spec ops will be a blast for my one co-op friend who I beat all of the spec-ops missions with in MW2 and we had a blast with. Still sad we didn't get DLC spec ops maps. :(

Actually, it was rather exceptional in its initial life when the various exploits had yet to be discovered. Once the javelin glitch made its appearance, it seemed to self-implode from there.

Those first few weeks with the game though were amazing. For as much flak as CoD cops for repeating itself, MW2 brought so many new things to the table - all the new killstreaks (which were now selectable), titles, emblems and the like. Getting your first care package or seeing your first stealth bomber was a real thrill.

I doubt MW3 can have the same impact, but stuff like the point streaks and streak packages certainly help. Specialist could be really cool and the fact that objectives now count towards rewards could make a huge difference in the playstyle. Black Ops already went some way to ammending it but this new change could really improve things.

I still think Black Ops cops a tough rep. It made so many balance improvements to the formula, and while there are still a few things here and there which aren't quite balanced (FAMAS red dot, ghost and motion sensors come to mind) it places a greater emphasis on skill than its older brother. There are connection issues but I still think this is overplayed. The game feels chunkier than MW2 but it's certainly not unplayable like some have made it out to be. Black Ops is a much slower, more methodical game that rewards map knowledge and aiming precision. It's a more difficult game to be good at than MW2.

I disagree, it was actually easier to be good at Black Ops compared to MW2 because there was less bullshit going on in the map that you couldn't control. It was more dependent on skill and so if you had skill it was easier.

MW3 seems to be reverting back to the MW2 line of thought and so I'm not sure I want to even bother.

You can always cut down on the bull shit based on playlists.

I pretty much stick to Hardcore Search and Destroy for most of my CoD time, and I expect that wont' change in MW3. I'm guessing there is a playlist for 3-5-7 kill streaks, or gun on gun without any of the kill streaks stuff.

You can always count on finding something to have fun in gametype wise, but I agree that core TDM may be more along the lines of MW2 stupid, and I'm not down for that. :(

You're misunderstanding what I mean by being 'good.' I probably wasn't clear enough.

Black Ops seperates the good players from the bad because it places a greater emphasis on gunplay. Those with higher skill with a weapon are almost always going to succeed because there's very little bullshit to kill them mid-streak. It's very easy to be consistently good in Black Ops, but you have to be good in the first place.

MW2 rewards all kinds of players, from good to absolute shit. It's far easier for bad players to do well in due to the various imbalances and exploits. Players are on a significantly more level playing field in MW2, but that's not a good thing. The game doesn't train bad players to become good - it just trains them to use bad tactics.

Yep we're in agreement. The thing I'm seeing though is that that particular design flaw in MW2 is seemingly carried into MW3.

It definitely seems to lean more towards MW2's emphasis on killstreaks, but perhaps the ease of achieving support kills will lessen this as I'd wager the majority of players will eventually switch to it - easier to get and more xp. If that's the case, perhaps gunplay won't be overshadowed.

I reckon it might be a little ugly early on though, but we'll see.

I love all the CoD's but I'm really worried about the multiplayer in this one. The MP Gameplay I've seen shows incredibly uninspired and just plain boring looking MP maps. Gonna buy it day 1 anyway though.

It looks a thousand times better than Black Ops, with features alone.

For some reason looking at the weapons is what drew me in. I know I'll eventually buy this for the multiplayer sometime, just not for $60 unless the singleplayer lives up.

I dont know that connection issue with black ops just ruined the game for me its one thing to be complaining while losing but its another to be complaining while blowing teams the fuck out.. a lot of trashy players luck out on black ops because of the connection issue I've even lucked out sometimes not gonna lie

lucky kills like that :p

Whoa. I thought this was coming out on the 14th. Why the hell is my Amazon order saying Nov 14 delivery when I ordered it in June? And apparently they're not offering release day shipping? C'mon Amazon.

Sense the recent disappointment of Play N Trade not getting Hardened Edition, is there anywhere I can go to obtain this version? Is my only hope Wal-mart at midnight?

I'd like to know the answer to this question too. Everywhere online seems like it's sold out.

Want to buy this to play it along BF3 and Skyrim, but I'll wait to see how the PC version turns out. Hopefully it's optimised well.

Love the OT!

Even though I am cracking out on BF3 I am damn glad I preordered MW3 after reading your OP. I knew I would want it regardless and your OP just showed me I was right.

That might be the case if we ignore MW2. CoD4 was godlike, I don't think anyone is going to deny that.

After the first couple months of MW2, though, after all the glitches and balance issues were discovered and heavily exploited, the game became a downright chore to play.

MW3 seems to take many of those lessons, and instead of learning from them, chooses instead to throw them out of the window. Why it completely ignored many improvements that were made by Black Ops (in my opinion a better game, multiplayer-wise, than MW2) completely baffles me.

We'll see how it plays out, but I have little faith after the return of quickscoping and death streaks, the un-balancing and re-fucking-up of the perks that Black Ops tried to fix (sans keeping Stopping Power out of the game), and the insanely cluttered weapon proficiency system.

They are improvements for you, but they are just not fun for others. At the end of the day, COD is about fun and killstreaks not stacking is anti-fun.

Basically, if you asked me which game I'd rather play today, COD4 or Black Ops, I would say COD4 any day of the week.

Reading Scavenger and Scavenger Pro it doesnt sound like they changed it at all. wtf?

Read it again. Scavenger gives you just ammo. Pro gives you ammo AND explosives.

Here's to hoping that with all the money they are making from the Elite members, they can push out better patches and updates, not just whore out newer and more bugged maps.
