This is insane.

Granted I live near a university campus, so seeing people walking around trying to catch Pokemon isn't that surprising, but I was not expecting this much.

There is a gym on campus too, and I can see a lot of people just hanging around trying to challenge it.

Thing is, it hasn't even officially released here in the UK yet, however I know of people who can't even figure out how to lower the brightness of their smart, and yet here they are managing to download the correct files, package and following methods to get the game and join in...some of them never even played Pokemon before.

If this manages to keep up and improve, its gonna blow up even more. Just imagine, once the rest of the gens get added.

Who has the leverage in this case? TPC or Nintendo? Moving forward (this is a hypothetical), will Nintendo be able to stop TPC if they decide that they want the mainline Pokémon games to be on mobile?
Yes. Nintendo does as fsr as I understand it own about half of the Pokemon Company due to them owning shares in TPC, and in Game Freak and Creatures Inc. who are the other companies that have shares in TPC.

Plus Iwata was one of the main originators for the concept of Pokemon Go.

Is this another mass compulsion like when everybody was playing Candy Crush? Are people even asking themselves why they're doing this? Let me guess, this is all fueled by the need to 1-up ones friends and say you have some digital trinket they don't and in the end, catching every Pokemon in GO gets you nothing good. Am I right?

Who would have guessed Pokemon will be the first thing that brought people of all gender, races, religion belief, social status and background together. Well done Nintendo, well done.
Yup, with all the negative news last week -Pokemon Go was needed. I love that literally everyone is playing this, meeting, making events, going out together.

Just got back from going out with my brother for a bit to find Pokestops. Turns out, there's a TON at this store down the street so we went there. Right outside there's 3 of them all gathered together.

Had plenty of people walking up and playing it. A group of people were sitting around in the shade nearby, one guy with his phone plugged in talking to a stranger about where to find a Snorlax.

I've seen kids as young as 10 and adults 40+ playing it today in a span of a few hours. It was fun to watch how many were playing it on top of the game, and try to find if someone was playing it or not. Definitely crazy.

I was at an airport restaurant last night and 4 middle aged (maybe 30 to 35 years old) black waitresses were all talking about what Pokemon they had found along the terminal. Definitely not the image I had when I imagined Pokemon enthusiasts. It's great to see.

The only way this will have legs is trading and battling.

Make it strictly local trading and battling to keep the social and Go aspect of the game.

If they do this while it's still hot this will get huge

Then they can start adding features like petting ur Pokemon in AR etc taking and sharing photos or your Pokémon collection in AR.

Yeah, just like Sony games flourish on their own hardware.

PS4: 40 Million Sold...Best Selling Game is Uncharted with an attach rate of 6% (2.7 Sales).

Wii U: 12 Million Sold...Best Selling Game is Mario Kart 8 with an attach rate of 59% (7.5 Million Sales).

...I think Nintendo are fine.
This exactly a million times over. No one can justify with numbers that a 3rd party Nintendo's IP would sale better on a Sony platform... If most people that own these consoles buy 3rd party games, guess what they are going to buy over Nintendo software? People shouldn't be to caught off guard that Pokémon GO is doing so well on mobile, after all you naysayers have been exclaiming for years now how the casual market left the Wii for mobile. So Nintendo going to that same market to leverage their more easy to play titles are sure to be a big hit with casual players!

Hey that's me in the bright red jacket at the front of the Sydney group shot! Shit's insane. Everywhere I go, people are playing it. Businessmen and women, kids, teens, 20's and 30's. Hell, just this morning at 8am when I was walking to work, there were lures in Sydney EVERYWHERE. Like holy shit, we're all going to work and people are still slapping lures in hopes of more Pokemon.

Trading and battling was a part of the original plan/trailer, so I'm sure it's coming. How fast they can get it out is the question.

Not work for me but in class. Trying to get my A+ and Microsoft Office Specialist Excel.

This guy had Pokemon stuff up on his laptop. The teacher asked him to bring him his laptop, I was like uh oh dude is done for.

Apparently teacher was giving him pointers and they were bouncing ideas off each other. Dude was on a Reddit page and a few others I never heard of before.

All for Pokemon.

I remember the last time I said ...I dont get it....I became addicted to Minecraft and Terraria..... and now Starbound. Will Pokemon grab me in its clutches too?

Every cig break I have taken today I have walked around the block to hit up the 5 pokespots I pass instead of just standing against the wall.

This game is a positive influence on my health!!!

There are roving bands of kids outside my apartment, along with college age kids and mid 20s like me.

A couple hours ago someone almost got hit by a car near my place walking into the road trying to catch a pokemon.
This guy in his mid-20s was standing in the middle of the street trying to catch one in my neighbor's yard. A car was sitting there just waiting for him to get out of the street and he didn't even notice. I couldn't help but laugh hysterically since I knew what he was up to, but people really should be more aware of their surroundings while playing.

My wife was unloading groceries from the car and left our garage open. She heard someone yell "YES! I caught it!" Three high school kids parked in front of our yard to catch an Ivysaur. She ran out, and they thought she would be mad...nope, wanted to know what they caught, then she opened her app up and thanked them for the tip.

My wife hates video games, y'all. We both play this...and she's already outleveled me.

Good news for me is that there's a gym and a Pokéstop at my office.

Welp....if Nintendo was looking to recapture that Wii audience...

It will be on mobile. Not home or handheld consoles. Considering many say thats where the audience went anyway its not a bad idea.

TFW my phone can't run it :(

There must have been a pokemon living in my front yard because I watched a dude walking a dog stop in his tracks, wander to my apple tree with his phone out and catch something. Wonder what it was. I'm glad I knew what he was doing as he looked kinda like a creeper hahaha
Dogs across the country are thankful for the sudden spate of extra walks, but confused as hell about why they keep having to stop.

Dude. You're on a video game message board. The entire hobby is that. Lighten up a bit and have some fun
