Can we talk about how insane 2015 is going to be for gaming?

This is my list already:

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round
Splatoon
Mighty No. 9
Batman: Arkham Knight
Halo 5: Guardians
Just Cause 3
Quantum Break
Mario Maker
Ori and The Blind Forest
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Star Fox Wii U
Zelda Wii U
Rainbow Six Siege
Yoshi's Woolly World
Star Wars Battlefront

And if I get a PS4 next year...
Uncharted 4
The Order

Mix that in with probably around 10-15 games that haven't been announced yet and yeah -- next year is definitely going to be insane.

Danny Dudekisser

I paid good money for this Dynex!
It's got the potential to be another 1998 or 2001, and I don't say that lightly. Frankly, I wasn't sure if it was possible for us to have another year like this. But there are just so many games that have amazing potential, from both sides of the pond. Shit, even AA games are making a bit of a comeback, with so many Japanese devs bringing their Vita titles to the PS4. And as an RPG fan, it's tough to comprehend the idea of Persona 5, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Final Fantasy Type-0, and maybe even Final Fantasy XV coming out in a single year. For a genre that's been stagnant for so long, that's kind of crazy.

I really think it's going to be an amazing year.

I mean, yeah, some of it is because a lot of games got pushed back to 2015 (looking at you, Witcher 3 and Batman), but sweet mother Teresa on the hood of a Mercedes-benz, 2015 could be (assuming we don't get more delays) the best year in gaming of the last decade.

Just off the top of my head, here's what we are getting in 2015.

Mario Party 10 (Nintendo/Wii U)
Hearts of Iron IV (Paradox/PC)
Phantom Dust (Microsoft/XB1)
Crackdown (Microsoft/XB1)
Mighty No.9 (Comcept/EVERYTHING)

Ghost Song (Matt White/PC)

And those are the biggest I can think of, not even digging into all the Indie craziness going on like Hotline Miami 2, Adr1ft, etc. And the games not announced yet. There's also re-releases like Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.

Obviously, some of them could be disappointments or broken messes (God knows we got those a plenty in 2014), or delayed to 2016, but there's still plenty of games to make this an insane year.

And hey, while Final Fantasy XV is not sure to be released in 2015 (I mean, this is Final Fantasy XV after all), we're gonna at least play a part of it soon.

The bolded are the only titles that interest me, and even then, wow. There's something for absolutely everyone next year. This might legitimately be the year to match 1998 as the GOAT gaming year.

I was going to get a PS4 at xmas but Bloodborne and UC4 (to a lesser extent) are the only games I really want to play on it. Hopefully the system on its own is cheaper by then and I can rent them. I very rarely bought any games for my PS3. In fact I only have MGS4 and had Dark Souls and GTAV and I sold both of those. (edit - actually I bought Ni No Kuni from the digital store.)
Bloodborne looks like a game I'd probably buy though and I'd rent UC4.

It does look more promising than 2014 because it's a international set of games rather than 98% Western games which gives us a more varied set of game concepts. But I don't see how adding ubisoft's games there make it better, it's despite them. :p

My god, that list is huge and all of them are top quality stuff. Few examples when there's a combination of quality and quantity, just like 1998 and 2007! I only have a Wii U and 3DS but 2015 is probably the year I will buy another console to complement them. I still don't know if it's gonna be a PS4 or a new PC. the good thing is that there's awesome games coming for either of those two.

Am I seriously the only 1 excited for Mario Maker?

I'm down for it. Love making levels for fun, hope the editor is awesome (and easy). Forgot that was next year.

If I had a PS4 I'd be picking up Uncharted 4 for sure too.
I'll probably get the new AC too, forgot to mention that originally. Hotline Miami 2 for Vita.

Witcher 3...maybe.

There's plenty to satisfy most people on that list. Personally looking forward to Zelda, as I always do, but it is Splatoon that has me really excited when it comes to the Wii U. That game screams DC-era Sega to me and it sits right at the top of my most wanted list for 2015. I'm expecting some tightly designed levels that really allow you to play with the ink and transform mechanics, all zipping along at a solid 60 Hz. I've never been a massive Starfox fan, but I'm curious about the upcoming one - undecided until I see it though.

As for the PS4, I'll be eagerly awaiting Uncharted 4 and Tearaway Unfolded. Rime is my most anticipated release for the platform - it looked beautiful in the last couple of trailers and I really hope it delivers a gameplay experience worthy of wrapping that gorgeous visual design around.
