Capcom never dicked about "with how RE plays to suit multiplayer". First they introduced multiplayer in old-school RE with Outbreak, then later they introduced multiplayer in RE4 (= RE5), and in both cases the only thing they changed was the real-time inventory (which is something that should be in every game anyway) You can argue that RE4 changed the way RE played though.

Or they simply should keep evolving the mechanics of RE4/5/6 and bring back Mercenaries.
Did you actually play Umbrella Corps or ORC? That's what I'm talking about. Looking at your comments in this thread shows that you and I have completely different views on what makes a good RE game. I didn't think you were serious.

Really wish they'd just bite the bullet, let the bad guys win and have the RE universe in a similar place to TLOU or Walking Dead, you know... Except Hunter nests, Licker infested buildings, abandoned sewer galleries full of giant spiders and crocodiles.
That sounds terrible.

the series is about mutation, not zombies the environment has always been affected. the dead coming back to life is simply a mutation that occurs due to that virus. the severity of the mutation creates bows.

Excited and worried at the same time. Still, I'd take my single-player/old-school survival horror Resident Evil over any online/coop gimmick any day of the week.

Now where's my RE3make/RE8 Capcom?

You have to wonder, if this guy is such a hot-shot leaker, why no mention of Project Resistance? Seeing as it's being announced before RE8 & REmake 3 it was clearly in dev longer.
Yup. Didn't he mention that RE2 would get an option for switching between OTS and fixed camera perspective?

I wouldn't take everything he says as true.

People, from RE communities, consider him a trusted source. I, for one, regard his claims neither flat-out lies nor unshakable truths without the need of proof-evidence.
So we'll see what the future has in store for us.

Jesus now i remember I used to hated Resident Evil Outbreak...

The aiming sucks so bad in that game, you cant aim for sh*t...even to shoot a normal zombie...

Aiming for Hunter/Licker are even harder since they move so fast....

Not to mentioned the running animation...

Your character run slower than a grandpa....or even snails for some character ....

I stil remember vividly my dark memories of constantly getting outrunhit and trampled by a Tyrant in the mansion.....was such a total nightmare...

I was really hoping it would be RE 3 Remake but i guess i was wrong....

To be fair to him, the devs did say they at least played with the idea. Though it was guessable after RE7's success.

I guess we'll see through from what I can tell he hasn't really said too much. The fact RE8 will happen is pretty obvious and the devs starting talking about a possible RE3 remake before he said anything.

Well don't worry. I'm pretty sure this'll be closer to L4D than Outbreak. In fact I'm pretty sure what we'll get will be so far from what Outbreak offered, comparing it to that will be laughable.

he used to write articles for relyonhorror (he left to make indie games) so he knows a few contacts also knows people who report of everything RE, he probably just wasnt talking to these other dudes making this new title.
Matt walker who is on resistance clearly has a separate team from division 1.

Rumors say it's a 4 vs 1 multiplayer game.

Umbrella Corps and ORC were spin-offs. Capcom never changed main RE gameplay to suit multiplayer.

I really hope they don't screw with the RE3 formula too much (as a result of it not being super popular at the time.)

Be as experimental as you were with RE2 capcom, just don't make it too different.

Do you mean experimental as a remake or as a game?

I was happy to come in and read about speculation about whether or not it was anything to do with RE3make, but then you had to go and mention Outbreak and now I want it.

Hmm. I'm cautiously optimistic. I liked the Outbreak games despite their shortcomings. Although, if this is another Umbrella Chronicles I'm out.

I disagree, part of what makes RE unique is the fact that it's not set in an zombie apocalypse but a specific location(s) for each game that got fucked over. I don't want to see it become just another zombie apocalypse story when they're the VAST majority of all zombie/infected fiction, not to mention after following these character for over two decades I'd be beyond pissed if the efforts of Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, and all the others were ultimately for nothing.

Tell me a single reason why RE works better as a single-player title. Coop games are more complex because you need to interact and collaborate with another person to win.
Because RE 5 and 6 was a better game for having co-op? I don't see how even the more recent examples (RE2 Remake, and RE7) could have been made better by making them co-op.

RE6 has great gameplay and some of the monsters were fun but I just didn't like the world and it plot was pretty much trash. To be fair RE6 isn't the worst when it comes to silly monsters, RE5 was way worst. I just don't trust the devs to make a post apocalyptic world after RE5 & 6. Not unless Capcom say that everything based after RE2 remake is no longer canon.

Meh, Outbreak needs a full remake rather than a remaster. They need to rejig the gameplay because Outbreak didn't age well and some of the scenarios are pretty crappy. Keep the specialist characters, keep the scenarios but make it over the shoulder like RE2 remake.
LMFAO!!!! I don’t even know where to begin!!!

Don’t touch the fucking games Capcom if you do this. I’ll continue to play online at OBSRV. I don’t want another dumbed down survival horror game for the casuals of 2019. You can go karate kick heads off on Resident Evil 6 if you want. Leave Outbreak alone. The game would lose EVERY bit of immersion if you made it over the shoulder. A mess!

Give me a Resident Evil: Outbreak that plays like RE2 Remake with more enemy variety and I'm sold. Imagine having a super small chance that Nemesis or Mr X can randomly appear while trying to solve puzzles so now you either stay and fight wasting ammo, or run an hide.

This has a lot of potential to be a great game but there is also a lot of potential to ruin it.... hopefully capcom sticks to their redemption arc.

Also those outfits are 90's as fuck so this is gonna be in Raccoon City.

Yes. Just try the Mercenaries mode alone and in coop, the later is much better.

Coop = you need to strategize with another person(s) in real-time to bypass challenges. Each player has a role. It's more complex, fun and rewarding. If RE2 had a battle mode with coop it would be certainly the best thing about it. RE7 isn't good to begin with (it's more of a tech-demo after all), so adding coop would be pointless. First the game needs to have solid mechanics.

Try harder, I ain’t biting
Just answer it.

This isn't a main game. Good try, very original.
I didn't say it's, I said that Capcom never changed the gameplay of main RE games to suit multiplayer.

This is what I'm afraid the most. The T-virus zombies are boring and overused, they do nothing other than slowly walk towards the player. It's time to Capcom to introduce a new virus and better enemies.

I'll be the first to deride Operation Raccoon City and Umbrella Chronicales but a proper mix of Outbreak, RE2 or RE7, and Left4Dead is recipe for a great game if executed well.

Make the antagonist Wesker operating from a control room strategically placing and releasing BOWs and giving player chance to take over any bow, culminating in a boss fight or two with series staples.

Could be great, could be trash depending how its done. Let's see what they got.

Images leaked! Looks like it might be Outbreak 3

yooooooooooooo was JUST thinking this could be Outbreak!!!! Consider, they already have the light gun titles, numbered, Revelations etc. So I felt maybe it would be online focused considering how long its been since the PS2 days and such. I LOOOOOOOOVE Outbreak 1 and 2 as they had forward thinking ideas, it was basically Left 4 Dead before Left 4 Dead. Any RE is a day 1 that gives me limited anything and puzzles.

Truth is somewhere in the middle.

There was definitely a Fixed Camera option originally ( see above ) it just didn't make it. They cut it. That's the problem with leakers.....they give you a glimpse into a certain TIME of development but things can change very quickly.

Resident Evil Outbreak reboot? I was expecting Resident Evil Revelations 3 but this might end up being good too.

Because co-op removes the anxiety of isolation, which is what RE was all about.

Having a partner watching your back makes you feel safer, which kills the point of survival horror.

I'm not saying that co-op is a faulty game mechanic, even though I tend to dislike its implementation. It just doesn't do anything helpful for a horror game.

There's a reason most horror films' scariest moments are when a character is all alone.

He's reliable. He knew about Sekiro, he knew when re2make would be revealed, he knew a lot of stuff.

Now, plans change, which is why some leaks go wrong but most stuff he says end up being true.

He's legit.
