The original Ninja Turtles cartoon isn't actually that great, nostalgia plays a factor here. I actually watched some old tapes I had recorded a couple days ago while cleaning out our entertainment center. The first season of the new TMNT cartoons were actually far better.

As for the rest of today's cartoons? Probably not. I think the 90's were arguably better though. Tiny Toons, Rocko's Modern Life, Dexter's Lab, Animaniacs, Ren and Stimpy, Angry Beavers, Johnny Bravo, Freakazoid... to name a few.

Sure. It was common practice to have excellent intros then the show itself wouldn't look anywhere near as good. Just look at Thundercats.

Although with Galaxy Rangers you had TMS doing a lot the animation and their A team were exceptional. The episodes they did for Batman: TAS always had the best animation of all the various studios that worked on that series.

I have to agree with the Gummi Bears theme. It's probably the most memorable theme for me from those days. The tune is so catchy. Has anyone heard the multi-language translations? Some of them are actually better than the english version, mostly because they make it sound so much more epic.
